301 views? Really? How is it that the world is not more excited about this?!? This is an AMAZING accomplishment!! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to James Cameron and the team of people who worked to make this possible. I can't wait to see the videos and pictures!!!
It just occurred to me that while this feat is damn impressive, the two guys back in the 60s would have an even tougher task. I mean, the difference in technology and safety factors alone is overwhelming. Seriously, the two guys dove the same dive with a tin can, a couple pairs of wool socks to keep warm and a couple pairs of brass balls.
His name is James Cameron! The bravest pioneer! No budget too steep, no sea to deep Who's that? It's him! James Cameron! James Cameron! Explorer of the sea With a dying thirst to be the first Could it be? Yeah that's him James Cameron!
Truly amazing how little knowledge we have about the life forms at that depth. Hopefully in the near future we can develop something to truly explore the deepest parts of the oceans. I'm sure we'll come back with something surprising.
SEARCHING FOR DEEPEST POINT ON THE OCEAN THEN WATCHED THIS . REALLY HAT'S OFF THE BRAVERY FROM THE DIRECTOR BECAME DIVER AND WENT FOR SOLO DIVE AND MADE THE RECORD. CONGRATS !!!!
Dont need to decompress, he never left the sub. Remember he said the sub shrinked under pressure? the internal atmosphere was kept at normal sea surface levels.
have read his autobio, not at all surprised he was the one to do this. he has love the water and oceans and diving the unknown and pushing the limits since he was young. his movies are evidence.
"James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is... James Cameron!" -James Cameron
But think how much more impressive was the drive of Jacques Piccard, who did the same thing using 1950's technology, and using what effectively was a gasoline filled underwater balloon.
what you mean raised the bar? It's on its highest or better, deepest point now lol. There isn't something deeper than the Mariana Trench on earth, he finished it. Only if other engineers succeed in crafting other machinery that can stay there longer they will break this overwhelming record.
"James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron; James Camoron does what James Camoron does becasue James Cameron is James Cameron." - James Cameron
It takes hours to ascend. I would say between 6 to 8 hours to come back up from the bottom. I believe that is how he decompressed. But that's just my thought
No just two, but the fact that you noticed....you must be looking at them all to see the south park comments, I don't know but seriously. The way your reply was worded for some reason it made me laugh way too much so thanks.
Actually the pressure isn't on his body. Obviously he would be dead under that pressure. So maybe there was no need to decompress or its done while he's gradually ascending
They recorded it with full HD 3d cameras, but they will keep that footage for the film he is going to make with it, they don't want to show that for free now do they ?
Did someone just say "the moon is a reflexion of the sun(if the sun is real)" wow i really thought i already met the dumbest person but clearly i was mistaken
its been a couple days.. and theres NO MORE footage yet? maybe they found something down there they dont want the rest of the world to see. i thought theyd be pumping out footage having multiple cameras on the sub

The way my anxiety is rising, even tho this is 11 years ago and he came out safe. I still can’t imagine how or why he would do that.
I’m more anxious after the recent submersible incident
Because humans have always been explorers and we've always been curious.
"James Cameron! The bravest pioneer!"
Glad alot more people know about this accomplishment now

Filming and taking samples from Challenger Deep itself IS a big deal -- a VERY big deal! Congratulations, Mr. Cameron! o:-)
His name is James Cameron! The bravest pioneer!
No budget too steep, no sea to deep
Who's that?
It's him!

Everyone, please give a moment to thank James Cameron for raising the bar.
Dont need to decompress, he never left the sub. Remember he said the sub shrinked under pressure? the internal atmosphere was kept at normal sea surface levels.
When will the program show on TV? I wanna watch it! JC is amazing not just as a director but also a sicentist and explorer!!
CEO of Oceangate should've learned from him. RIP to the 5 souls.

pfhahahahahahaahahahaa !
Only 4 people have been there: Don Walsh & Jacques Piccard (Jan 1960), James Cameron (March 2012) and Victor Vescovo (April & May 2019)
I don't believe any made it to the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
I want to see what Mr Cameron saw down there! I want to see it now!!!!
A bar or line graph I'd like to see would be one that shows to what depth that humans have gone into the ocean and how many have gone to that depth.
Explorer of the Sea...he surely raised the bar..=)
He filmed in 3D aswell, can't wait for the documentary in 3D !
Outstanding !
thank you for raising the bar!
CONGRATS N GOOD LUCK FOR AVATAR SEQUELS, SIR JAMES CAMERON. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SEQUELS :))))))

That would be a really cool experience
He didn't do this because he's rich, he did it because it's awesome! He was able to do it because he was rich.
No budget no steep, no ocean too deep. Who's that? It's him. James Cameron!
Cameron is the man.
But think how much more impressive was the drive of Jacques Piccard, who did the same thing using 1950's technology, and using what effectively was a gasoline filled underwater balloon.
Amazing!

Admiral James Cameron!
Great man!
Cool vid.
When does the movie come out, 3D?
And where and when can we see the documentary? Do National Geographic have an hour or so of this trip down the ocean floor?
First thing he saw at the bottom was Chuck Norris who had Snorkeling down to test his new water resistant watch...(right spelling on this one :)
Can someone tell me where I can get this movie?
3D doco at the end of the year. It will reveal his experience and what was discovered.
So amazing. :)
when or where can we see the videos he captured??
That voice is the same voice in mass effect series codex
Good for him.
the bar was already set by Bathyscaphe Trieste in 1960
It takes hours to ascend. I would say between 6 to 8 hours to come back up from the bottom. I believe that is how he decompressed. But that's just my thought

make more of that submarines so they can support you filming
I think he may have been expecting a metal alien ship on that sea floor.
where is the whole movie on this ???
HE FOUND IT HE RAISED IT
He's James (James) Cameron, explorer of the sea...
Spent more then 3 hours, but yet i cannot find a video longer then 4 minutes....?
totally... james looks like history here...
Gotta love those "fake" comments, either they're trollin' or they should seriously check their brains
at one point in his life he was a truck driver in canada... now look at him!
so badass
Actually the pressure isn't on his body. Obviously he would be dead under that pressure. So maybe there was no need to decompress or its done while he's gradually ascending
Amazing is, we did this 50 yrs ago? WOW
Can we do a deep dive of Luisatannia. Or a German U-boat!
He sure was under a lot of pressure.
สุดยอดเลยเฮียย
I would never do this. ever
Q Mallow yeah even if I had all that money-even if someone offered me a fucking billion I won't have the balls to go the the deep see
Your posting the same comment on all James Cameron videos....
Help us James! The bar has been lowered...

I believe you meant, "water resistant"

They recorded it with full HD 3d cameras, but they will keep that footage for the film he is going to make with it, they don't want to show that for free now do they ?
Pretty sick. Who thought he was also an explorer.
His name is hjames, james cameron, hes the bravest pioneer, no budget too steep no depth too deep whos that, its him james cameron
16,000 PSI? Those high pressure tanks that run those pnumatic air cars, aren't they only 4,000 to 8,000 PSI? Certainly not 10,000PSI.
fuckin show usssss pleeease!!!!!!!
it's been up for one day bud
Looks and sounds like this was recorded 20 years ago.

And then the sub hits an iceberg. Oh the irony.
You would be the 4th. walsh and Picard went there in 1960
Hahaha! Are you Chuck Norris trying to shift the meme crown?
*bows down*
