Thank you! I had this in mind for a print I found of one of my wife’s favorite paintings, but I had no idea how to go about it. You explained it perfectly and succinctly. Can’t wait to get started.
Thank you for this video. Also, I appreciate your once-a-month video format. What you share and how you share it makes me feel like I could possible do something similar. I would have a steep learning curve with the technology, but the still camera and chunks of footage work really well and seem doable. Thanks again! I have learned a ton from all your videos.
woooooooow great, I was looking for a way to give texture to a printed painting and I really liked this. I remember that in a Mr. Beans movie I saw something similar with the "Portrait of Whistle's Mother" jajajajaja he made a mixture with egg white and nail polish I think but I've never seen that before
Thanks for sharing. I prefer oil painting i/o a print. You can find really nice oil paintings for a similar budget. I have a replica of Van Gogh and every time I look at it, it creates a smile on my face. I sometimes still smell the painting (after more than 20 years) and the craftsmanship is part of the art of painting too for me.
Sometimes one can fall in love or be inspired by a print. In that instance it most likely would be difficult to fine a painting that would be a good dupe unless you have the money to commission a likeness. That is exactly why I hunted for this DIY video. Thank you, Simplee DIY. Does Modge Podge yellow over time or is this not a concern?
Wow, Thats a cool idea, I will definitely try that! Thanks for uploading... I think also the fact that you covered the entire print with mojpoj, your print wont fade over time (if it was printed with ink dyes) :)
Well done. I've been wanting to frame a collection of vintage soap wrappers (mainly from Portugal and Italy) in a sort of collage format. Do you think Modge Podge would work as a sealant in my project?
@@JoyfulCat24 I'm no crafter, but it didn't turn out too badly. I did a Winter themed collage within an antique frame I found in an old shed on the family farm.
also what material or type of print is that art printed off? im afraid when i try this with a wrong paper the wetness might destroy print or the colors
thank you very much for this. I was wondering if you know how a picture is made to look as if it is a real oil on canvas when in fact it is a copy. Than you.

I totally agree that if someone likes it they should. Just like if someone wants green grass carpet throughout their house and wacky colors and patterns on their walls they should do whatever they want.
This is one of my go-to projects when I need artwork for my home. It's so easy to do.
Yes it is!
To secure small nails without smashing your fingers - use a pair of needle nose pliers or stick the nail through a piece of paper for a handle.
So smart!!!
Thank You! Im making a miniture painting as a fridge magnet with a vintage frame and wanted everything to look fancy
That's a great idea!
Ive done this before but forgot about it. I am going to do this again and I love your print
It’s one of my favorite ways to upgrade my art.
Genius!!
I love the idea that’s it’s so light weight, easy to hang and move.
Yes it is! Thanks!👍🏼
thanks, so photos are so beautiful and catch the light at the right time, appreciate you sharing.
Thanks it such a fun easy project and I love the results.

It's going to look great!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks
Glad I could help
It's easier if you cut the print after it's already been glued to the foam core.
Smart! I’m going to try it!
Thanks, this was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
You did a wonderful job, you’ve inspired me to try my hand at this technique! Thank you for sharing!
How'd it come out? 😊

If you use an awl tool to make your nail holes for the saw tooth it might make it a little easier. Thank you for your presentation.
Great tip!
Cool! Thanks

Does Modge Podge yellow over time or is this not a concern?
@@dgomez8320there are other products that you can use that won’t yellow and are archival. Check out your art store in the acrylic gel medium area.
There’s so many different types of Mod Podge, which type did you use? Love this and going to give it a try.
Hi! I used a matte finish
Beautiful
Thank you! 😊

Nicely done. This comes across especially well if you live in a villa.
Yes. It would look great in a villa.
Awesome!
Amazing
Thanks!😊
I love it. I have a print I'm going to follow your lead. Thank you.
This is one of my favorite DIYs
cool! can you tell if it goes yellow over time? after 1-2 years..
Beautiful
Please can you share the link of the print…Love it
Sorry! I don’t have the link but I found it on Etsy.
thats beautiful !!!! what type of print are you using paper or canvas ? and what finish ? matte , gloss ? whats better for this results ?
I used paper. Matte is my favorite finish.
Is there a way to darken up a brighter print to make it look antique?
Good question! I haven’t tried this, but I wonder if you could add color to the Mod Podge to make it darker. Try it on a practice print first!
@simpleediy Thank you for your response to my question 🙂
Love this idea! I definitely want to try it. I say modge podge also!!😂❤
I’ve called it modge podge forever!😂😂😂
Well done. I've been wanting to frame a collection of vintage soap wrappers (mainly from Portugal and Italy) in a sort of collage format. Do you think Modge Podge would work as a sealant in my project?
Yes! There are different sheens so if you don’t want it shiny choose the matte finish.
Thanks very much for the advice. Cheers.@@simpleediy
What a great idea! Love wrappers like this.
@@JoyfulCat24 I'm no crafter, but it didn't turn out too badly. I did a Winter themed collage within an antique frame I found in an old shed on the family farm.
What type of a white gloss paint? Thanks
It isn’t a paint. It’s a sealer called Mod Podge.
@@simpleediy
Thanks for responding to me. At first, I thought you ignored my question. 😁👌
nice video but im curious i find the print looks nice what style of painting is that print? i like the feeling and brush strokes on that
also what material or type of print is that art printed off? im afraid when i try this with a wrong paper the wetness might destroy print or the colors
I found my print on Etsy and had it printed by MPix.
@@simpleediyis the material paper or canvas? sorry for alot of questions i wanna acheive the same look…is mpix a printing service or something?
I love this print. Where did you get it
I got it on Etsy. I wish I had a link to share.
on what paper you took the print? even leveling by hand directly on print, is it laminated?
It’s not laminated. I used MPix to print the photo on archival paper.
How does the mod podge hold up as it ages? Any color changes?
Not so far!!!
thank you very much for this. I was wondering if you know how a picture is made to look as if it is a real oil on canvas when in fact it is a copy. Than you.
No, sorry
I like it
Thanks!
Can i convert printed picture into real painting by applying modge podge? Btw thank you 🙏 for this information
It depends on what the picture is printed on. If it’s on photo paper mod podge isn’t a great option.
@@simpleediy what paper can i use?
Is the print from temu? Thank you.
Etsy
@@simpleediy I got my from temu.
How long did it take to dry?
Maybe a couple of hours
Ahhh, you used Matte Mod Podge... I only have Gloss. Wonder if that'll work?
It will work. The result will be shinier.
is there a way to tell if it isnt an oil painting? i think i bought a print with that texture😢
An oil painting will be made with actual oil paints but you can buy prints which are photocopies of oil paintings.
How expensive was that inexpensive print? And what size?
Less than $10 and it was 11x14
I used wood glue instead of Mod Podge. Can there be bad consequences from wood glue?
I wouldn’t use wood glue! 👍🏼😊
Tip: Use a needle nose plier to hold the tiny nail.
Smart!
Can you share where you had your Art printed at?
Sure! I used MPix. Highly recommend!
Great idea, but please it is Mod Podge nit modge podge.
I know!🤦🏽♀️😂
Read your "Modge Podge" label, it says MOD PODGE!!!
You’re right! 😂
Galleries dont accept sawtooth hangers
😍🤩😍
According to the label, the product is Mod Podge, not Modge Podge. Thank you.

Funny how so many people say modge podge!
Get a grip 😂
LOL, that’s such a petty thing to correct someone on.

use nose pliers and a smaller hammer to hammer in the small nails.
Great tip!
please answer my questions 🙏🙏
I did this on foam board and found because the foam board has a thin layer of paper it shrunk during the drying procesw and bubbled the poster.
I also think it depends on the thickness of the print.👍🏼
LOL I see a lot of folks jumped on you for continually calling it "Modge Podge", so I'll spare you. :D
Yes! Definitely should have checked the spelling!👍🏼
Frames are getting more expensive
Yes they are! Sometimes I find great frames at thrift stores!👍🏼
MOD Podge not Modge Podge - that said, I really enjoyed your video!
