Haha cheers 😁👍 I don't know what was wrong with the cat that day, he was just ravenous as was eyeing up my foot so i had to feed him then and there or I think my blood would have been spilt 😅
Thanks for sharing this, it was a really good game - great table and figures, and well explained. There were more errors than I could keep track of, but both of you seemed to enjoy it, which is most important. Brutal dice by the Vikings!
Cheers 👍 glad you enjoyed it, always fun to play. Hope there weren't too many, it's always hard to keep track of everything while also filming it 😁 as for his dice, they had to come up for him sooner or later 😅
@@7thson726 Just a couple then. Javelins don't reduce thier opponent's armour in melee unless they charge. So when the Anglo-Dane warriors charged the Viking levy the levy had their armour reduced but the Anglo-Danes didn't. If the levy had charged, both would have gone down. Using a fatigue to reduce the movement always reduces the movement to S, so the Vikings crossing the river would not have been reduced to VS - it would have made no difference, so the fatigue should have stayed on. But, as I said, both of you seemed to have fun, and that is more important than anything else.
Good Battle Report, you two put on great games. One mistake you made is you couldn’t use Lord of War after the Warlord’s combat, on Anglo-Dane turn four, because your Warlord was exhausted. After the battle you had a fatigue because the charge was your second activation, there was a second for the charge, and the last one for resilience. So your next activation could only be rest.
Yeah, just one of those things. Try to remember one thing causes something else to be forgotten 😅 glad you enjoyed it, the next one is currently being edited
Hi Martin, loving your video and inspired by the production. Not looked at the comments so forgive any repetition. When you spend Odin to exhaust a shooting unit. The shooting units gets the fatigue immediately, so target unit has choice of leaving fatigue on unit and it exhausted or spending fatigue to increase Armour. also in Version 1 you could spend fatigue to slow from S to VS. i think the slowest you can move is S in V2. I think the VS might be scenario specific or special units, nothing else.
Nice batrep. Reminder: resting and then activating is considered 2 activations, so it actually doesn't do anything. Also, I think you get fatigue for your second activation when you activate, not at the end of the activation, but I may be wrong.
Cheers, glad you liked it 👍 I think you're saying that you would generate Fatigue for activating after resting but you only generate Fatigue after each activation to move, shoot or charge if you have already been activated to move, shoot or charge (p.30) otherwise yeah it would be completely pointless 👍. If that was the case then I would definitely be putting a house rule in to change that 😁 We checked during the game about when you receive the fatigue because I've always thought it was when you activate but it's actually given at the end of the activation (also p. 30) unless that's been changed in a FAQ or something 🙂
@@7thson726 You are correct - resting does not count towards fatigue for further actions. You are only allowed one rest per turn and it must be the first activation of that unit. Fatigue is placed at the end of activation (except when charging, when it is placed before the melee phase). The Viking ability Odin is also an exception - the three fatigue are placed as soon as Odin is activated so you can use the fatigue of the shooters to increase your armour.
@@TylerProvick I keep finding thing's I didn't know about and I've been playing it since the 1st Edition came out, like I didn't know about the manoeuvre rule until after that last game, that was a suprise to me 😅 also explained why I struggled to get things moving all the time 😁
Great game! Not played Saga but it looking very interesting. The shooting seemed very effective. Do you think it encourages you to take more missile men? I thought Egbert was going to rescue the Anglo-Danes but at least he went down swinging! 👍
He did go down fighting as did his bodyguard, son of Egbert has alot to live up to 😅 to be honest I've found missiles more ineffective than effective, I'm limited to only fielding my Levy with bows or slings and you can see how hard they are to activate, I think I need more warriors to be honest l, soak up the losses then pummel them in melee 😁
Interesting report. Can’t make my mind up about SAGA. Got gifted the rules and several of the books by a shop owner friend who stopped stocking it. Never got round to playing. A couple of friends have played it and weren’t keen commenting that it feels like too much of a deck building game with the boards adding too much of gamey distraction that breaks the immersion. Might give it a try some day, either that or Infamy Infamy. Trouble is, when gaming time is limited, I always feel like I’d rather play games that we really like, like Black Powder.
We'll put 👍 I view Saga a bit like I'm playing a myth or legend rather than a historical raid, that way I can separate out the axe swinging effects of the warlords. I do get what you mean though, sometimes only a mass battle will do 😁
In the Battle of Maldon the Saxons had to invite the Vikings to cross the causway to fight otherwise they would have just jumped in their ships and sailed away to raid further up the coast before the Saxon army could get there.
Yeah we mucked up there as we had been placing the Fatigue incorrectly on other activations so when we corrected those we just automatically went the same way with the charge 👍😁
Hey! Lovely looking terrain. I see the teddy bear fur for the long grass, but what did you use for the shorter grass texture? Looks like you're playing on a mat. Keep up the great work!
As far as I can remember we were adding them, unless they were then getting spent by the opponent to reduce movement or used in combat. It's been a while so I can't quite remember but it's not come up before
Great game! we need more saga in the future
There's more planned, just need a few bits and bobs 😁
Great to see more saga content.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, there will be more 👍
Nice bat rep. Got my saga armies on order, can’t wait to start painting and playing.
Excellent, it's a fun game 👍
Great game, great table and also very entertaining en smooth editing, love the comic relief bit with the cat chewing its own leg off :)

Excellent! Because of you guys, I have ordered Saga, Vikings, Hannibal, Magic, Battles and Invasions.
Brilliant, glad you enjoy them, the next battle in the series is up tomorrow 👍😁

Thanks very much, do enjoy Saga, must have another game soon 👍
Fantastic game chaps really enjoying this campaign an look forward to the next. Such a shame Egbert is fish food!

Cool looking game and table.

Great looking board, armies and all around great report! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Really enjoying the SAGA content. BTW, I 'm not sure you can split dice with Crush The Weak - I think its 4ATK or 4DEF, not a mix of 4.
Thanks.
Cheers for that 👍 just checked and your spot on, was used to the other ability where you can divide it up 😁
A good game. The end looked like Custer
Haha cheers mate, at least he went down fighting 😅
Thanks for the video! I was curious what you used for the shaggy grass field on the right side of the board?
Thanks for watching 👍 the field is made from teddy bear fur which has been dry brushed with different greens and browns, hope that helps
