Absolutely Brian! Totally agree! If you own what you have passion for and love, I don’t think people will be disappointed. If people are only in it for the money…I can’t see how they eventually won’t find disappointment.
Yep got many posted :-) Take a peek. My dad bought me Transformers 1 and i still have that original copy. I have many more along with those 3 comics rack pack. I collect those bigtime!! Am working on a 3rd comic book spinner rack too!! Always buy what you love for the sentimental. If it goes up. Consider the intrinsic a BONUS. No FOMO or SPEC for us.
Great video - subbed up! I have some childhood comics that are special - my first off-the-rack Daredevil was issue 158, just happened to be Frank Miller's first so that was cool. Also, Daredevil 8 was my first Silver Age buy - Stiltman!
Thank you for joining me! I am so impressed that you have some original books from your childhood. I wish I did. My foolishness of selling books off when my hobby tastes changed forced me to replace the books of my youth. I wish I still had some original copies. Thanks again for subscribing!
Thx for sharing your “heart string” picks John! One for me is Spidey Super Stories #18 (I think)…it’s a King Pin cover …it’s as beat up as they get!…but it’s the one that sparked my son’s interest in the hobby!!✌🏼
My worst regretful sale was my holy grail. Ultra rare 1939 Motion Picture Funnies Weekly 1 coverless complete with a trimmed Marvel Comics 1 cover lot from the Lloyd Jacquet estate!!!! I did get a replica made and have made one of my earlier 1st comic book related YT videos of that very book. The 1st appearance of Sub-mariner in glorious black and white and without the added 4 pages from MC1. I hope to buy that book back one day
If you want to talk about mistakes, in 1976, I bought 2 copies of Amazing Adventures featuring The Beast for $1.00 instead of buying Giant-Size X-men #1 with that dollar.
My Sentimental books are Excalibur Special Number 1, Spiderman 2099 1, X-Men 135, and ASM 13. Your son was right about the sound issue, its better now. To make it excellent, I would suggest picking up an inline phantom power supply for your microphone. I got one which was USB powered for like 20 bucks off amazon and it makes a huge difference.
Thank you so much for your feedback and for your sentimental books! Very much appreciated! So one of your sentimental books is the Amazing Spider-Man with first appearance of Mysterio? I like that book too. Just picked up a graded .5 copy for my private collection.
I was an ‘80’s teen. Therefore most of my favorite issues/stories were during that time. The following are books I bought back when they first hit the newsstand or my LCS that I kept all these years. Avengers Annual #10 (Chris Claremont and Michael Golden at the top of their game. One of the best single-issue stories I ever read). Dr. Strange #55 (Next to Avengers Annual #10, this had the best artwork I had ever seen). Death of Captain Marvel graphic novel (The first time I remember crying from a story). Dark Knight Returns (This story changed EVERYTHING). Batman Year One story (The best Batman story every written) Miracleman 🎉#1-16. (My favorite comic book story…EVER. This is what historians will point to as the perfect example of post modern deconstruction). I still favor this over Watchmen Superman Annual #11 (One of the best Superman stories ever written). Daredevil: Born Again story (Frank Miller outdid himself with this story. Even surpassing his original run on DD).
Great stories from your long history
Thank you so much Josh! I’m so glad you find them interesting to listen to!
Great stories and amazing books!!! Also, sounds like you got a new microphone. The audio sounds great! Thanks for another awesome video John!
Thank you so much brother! Yes…my son Zach advised me to get a mic. I like it a lot!
Love seeing the sentimental books and hearing the stories. Thanks John!
Thank you so much for subscribing and I’m so glad you liked my sentimental favs.
Collect what you like! Great books and stories.

HUGE Jim Steranko fan here!!! I got multiple sets of his 1966-1967 HARVEY Spy Man 1 to 3 with his 1st published work even if just a hand 🙂
New sub. I love comic books. I still have some from the eighties. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome and Thank you so much for subscribing. Very much appreciated
Enjoyed the stories, to me, that's what collecting is all about.👊✌️
I agree 100%. Thank you so much for the feedback! Very much appreciated!
That iron man looks clean! Congrats and continue to enjoy comics.

That is great Joe! I can’t imagine ever letting those books go!

Oooh yes, one of these days I’m going to do a video on coverless books too! Thank you so much for your comments!

Wow, thank you so much for sharing! What a difference in value today. If we only knew.

I agree 100%! I’ll be doing an episode on comics and records soon. Thanks so much for watching the video!
