Barb, you will never know the joy of not knowing if the head fits until it is built. Well done.
Feliz Ano Novo. Seu vídeo é Top. Me inscrevi no canal.
Very tidy wood working skills :) Almost makes me wish I had a garage to put cool toys in!
very cool :D would love to see what you do with it! subbed in the meantime, because you're other vids are great too
Great, now i need to think of a project so i can use that shining new band saw..... so pretty.....
Hmmm....this was suck a killer video to watch. But, what happens if you don't have an extraordinarily expensive CNC machine?
This is terrific! Did you post a video of making the drum? I'm really curious because I'm a drummer, and I love woodworking/making things. I'd like to make my own shells someday.
i haven't done the drum yet, but i will. there's another drum idea that i have that might jump the line so it can be part of the hackaday prize competition this month.
you almost made a drum shell in the making of the mold. Wondering if you could just use your cnc to cut circles, from a thicker piece of ply...do it 7 /8 times and build up layers of those cut circles...glue and clamp them, before shaping and routing the lip. .7 x 18mm ( 126mm)sheets of ply could give you a small snare shell??? if you cut concentric circles the inner rings could be for small toms to minimise wastage...or could just take the circle and make drum seats :) Think they would be heavy as shit...but that would be a good thing maybe????
i might just try that. if nothing else, it'd be cool to compare the results of that technique with a bent ply drum.
@@BarbMakesThings check this guy's channel ua-cam.com/video/ZVJOXFQh03c/v-deo.html he calls it stacked plywood drums...its been done, and he's given it a name haha !! I came up with this same idea the other day while mucking around with a whole lot of plywood flooring offcuts...by the looks it really sounds great too..
Why not use a jigsaw to cut the tabs?
Layers, you say? Very interesting....
I want a scroll saw... And space for one :p
Push ....stick..... 👉🏏
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So what ever happened to this project? - Are you going to continue ??
summer camp happened. it's a very busy time and i mostly work on builds that overlap to save time and energy. i'll get back into the rimshot machine in a month or two.
Guhhh!!! I was floored by this video, only to find that you dropped the idea, and haven't touched it since. Borderline click-bate. But it was a cool video. Props, but... damn... don't post a video until you have filmed, or at least committed to finishing, the project.
Cool video but that honestly felt ten times more complicated than it needs to be.
Woodworker has CNC machine but doesn't have a lathe? Alrighty then! Cheers!
Heavily sponsored by ryobe without any nötige? Oh dear...
