Uvalde Shooting Victim Given ‘Encanto’ Dress

- Ellie Garcia, who lost her life in the elementary school mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, loved the movie “Encanto.” A costume team at Disney sent a custom-made dress of Ellie’s favorite character, Isabella. Ellie’s 10th birthday would have been this Saturday. Disney also sent the Garcias a swatch of the fabric and flowers used to create Ellie’s dress. The actress Adassa, who voiced Dolores in the movie, sent the family a video message.
so sad...the parents can't even enjoy the gift knowing their daughter isn't there to wear it and receive it :(

Poor girl, she was always seen smiling in all her pictures. She looks like and reminds me of my niece who is going to be 10 in July and also likes the character Isabella this breaks my heart

My condolences, really. This is just terrible. She, of many victims as young as 8 can’t go back to their families because of that damn monster that held that shotgun. @@Silver-jn3jl Same thing happened with Sandy Hook, but it took them 40 minutes to stop the shooting versus 75 minutes. They also didn't let parents in at sandy hook but if I were a parent, I would have been that mom who got her 2 kids out or shoot through the window. I hope the police officers in charge that day get fired, sure 12 were shot instantly but they could have saved 5 to 7 more lives

I'm still angry at police force, especially ones who went for their kids first, got them out and abandoned children.

She looked exactly like my sister at her age same skin tone and everything, I can’t imagine the heartbreak the grief the loneliness, and biggest hole in the heart. I cannot imagine losing a child in that manner. I hope she rests in piece along with the victims lay to rest for eternity in the afterlife❤️😭

This is just heartbreaking. No child should have to go through this. She looked so young and would have had a long life ahead of her, but thanks to the shooter, she couldn’t even wear an amazing dress that she got. The fact that I can't even go to school without worrying that something like this might happen is horrible. I feel so bad for all of the children and families who went through this. I wish I could say that I can't believe that this happened, but the sad truth is that this world is filled with monsters like the killer that day. May she, and all of the others rest in peace.

honestly the shooting in general just broke my heart so much, my heart goes out to the victim’s families, the kids were so young and the pictures of them showed hope for the future and it’s heartbreaking to see their lives lost so suddenly

It frustrates me that someone would ever think of killing young kids that had their whole life ahead of them. Sometime humans disappoint me and make me wish I wasn’t human. People can be such jerks. Rest In peace little angels.

From what I heard, the parents were planning on buying one. I'm not sure if it was to bury her in or to hang in her room, but they did want the dress. Disney found out and had this made and sent to them. I felt uneasy about them sending the dress until I found out they actually wanted it.

That is how this reporter says the news. She expresses what she says and says it with empathy. But she’s not crying.
A lot of people told her that she needed to practice her empathy voice because last year, when she first started with I.E, she would smile while delivering tragic news (not on purpose, but probably didn’t know how to act in front of the cameras). Glad she decided to work on that.

I honestly don’t think school shootings will stop, because nobody is doing anything. At least they can do is do more background checks and raise the age to 21 because being allowed to buy guns at 18 but you cannot drink until ur 21 is strange.
