4:14 when you get to the end of this track. You'll find a large green flat land that you can drive on and you'll find out that there's a script trigger somewhere for time to change from Afternoon to Sunset. Meaning the game doesn't have baked lighting, its actually dynamic and time is mostly paused for races. If The Run ever gets a huge resurgence in popularity maybe EA could consider pouring time into remaking or creating The Crew type game with day night cycles but that's really optimistic.
You are so surprised when you see flying objects and ghostly textures that you forget that the players were not supposed to get there. These are not “unfinished”, these are “distant textures that create the impression of a big city” Roughly speaking, they are "finished", even if they look "unfinished"
Indeed, those objects are made to look normal from the road the player's expected to take. Nonetheless, they are still fun to notice and appreciate when they're being discovered !
4:54 Maybe for a seperate end in the 1vs1 ? Imagine a Cop car would come out and crash into Marcus instead of the Hyper realistic crash at the end. If i had a guess, then i would say NOT ENOUGH TIME (Maybe).
San Francisco and New York are the easiest stages to fall out of the map compared to the others (although Chicago as well too). And like NFS UG1's map most of the parts are unfinished like they don't render properly and don't have solid surface unlike NFS UG1 which had prevention from falling out of the map while NFS TR doesn't. And although you can ''free roam'' still you won't see much there like NFS UG1. That's why the game by default prevented you like by resetting you. Most of what the races are located at are what you can drive at, they are like 90% of what you can see during the stages. Yes, there are some small details you can see with this free roam mod but nothing much, except most of the time you will go where the road ends or you will be stuck forever in 1 place. It's obvious that this game didn't have enough time for the tracks to be polished and be like The Crew.
I see what you're trying to point out, but there a few exceptions : for example on my latest video featuring details and "things you missed" in stage 2, i've found entire road sections that could've been used in The Run, but it isn't the case; assuming that they were planned to be in the game but got dismissed because of EA's deadlines on BlackBox ...
@@AZ_NFS I know these stages have hidden details which people miss I don't disagree with that but tbh from all stages I find San Fran and New York the most boring due to how unfinished these stages. However Tioga Pass is for sure more interesting.
these stages aren't unfinished, they serve their purpose as intended, as tracks for the player to race on, and the rest is set dressing, these were never meant for free roaming
Man i hate those types of videos cuz it make me feel so bad for the run, like it had potential but the idea of EA back thrn was "2 games per year",so we got shift 2 ( good ) and the run (good but unfinisjed)
2:47 there's only one way to heaven , through Jesus Christ the only son of God. Great video , God bless!! Played this game many times yet after watching your videos i realize that I i missed a lot of stuff in locations
It's a mod called LAN Script, by hypercycle. It not only grants some additional features (i.e. freeroam) but also makes LAN lobbies (online) possible. Check hypercycle's video for installation : ua-cam.com/video/54c1aD8S7ts/v-deo.html

@@AZ_NFS Ok, still cool video anyway
4:55 Maybe they wanted another set of Porsche Cayennes after you, as a final attempt to stop you from beating Marcus.
Ohh that's actually a good idea

That would definitely make the final race more interesting !

@HeroManNick132 I definitely agree with you here, cities are unfinished and rural are more interesting !

That battlefield car physics always makes me laugh 😂
Anyone else noticed the Mafia poster on the top right at 4:03
Even for the age of this game, the art direction is really good.
Good video bro! NFSTR my favorite nfs

I did not miss anything in every single location in NFS: The Run.
Good for You !
Relax bro ! haha
