Great review of product. Thanks for sending me the link2
For you AGA, anything.
@@dancerscc 👍😂😂😂👍 Well in that case I'll take (3) per 33 double eagles 😂😂😂👍
I had a Morgan that did the same but passed the ping test.. So although these Sigma metalytics machines help a lot you still need to do multiple tests.
Much thanks for the advice!
What is the ping test?
When you hit the coin with a certain object it makes a high pitch ping from it. Clad and other metals generally make a lower ping. There are many ping testers on the market.@@cyrusIIIII
I'd trust the sigma over just the ping test. I'm not a fan of just the ping test. I'd weigh it, measure it magnet test it and slide test it before I'd ping it but that's just my preference. Ping seems kinda gimmicky to me.
@@AGAUaddict I am right there with you.
These machines are expensive as much as i would like to get a pmv investor I'm leaning towards the original sigma, when i go to coin shows all of the guys have the original version and they tell me this is all you need. Sigma should bring the price down a few hundred dollars and i bet they would sell more of them
I was freaked out by the cost also. I'm not sure exactly what's materials go into them that would cost so much. I also think their monopoly means they can charge a premium.
Easy to trick the original because it only goes a few mm deep. Need one that scans through entirety.
@@CrayCrayRedneck Got it.
Cool video! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for subscribing. I appreciate that.
I have a sigma and i used my sigma on a fake Canadian Maple. I can tell you it passed but failed a pin test. The machines are great but always do 2 or 3 tests.
Excellent advice.
@dancerscollectibles question. Have you seen any of the newer fakes. The ones that are 20% gold thickness on all sides of a 1oz round over tungsten. That's what our local shop in Ottawa Canada has seen 25% or a 1/4 of gold over a 3/4oz slug of tungsten.
I have not, but will need to now keep my eyes open. Much thanks for the update. @@HeritageStacking
What is a Pin test?
@cyrusIIIII I spelt ping wrong sorry mate.
One problem with the Sigma Investor is the settings are not always accurate. After testing many silver coins.,I ran into a few false negative readings with both Morgan silver dollars and with Washington quarters. However, when I switch the setting to pre 1900 90% silver setting it reads in the green .
Agree with you. When I get a false I add the weight test as well as a magnet test.
I have noticed the same issue with Morgans. I even emailed Sigma today to see if anyone has videos on Morgans and issues. Mainly "yellow" and wrong size of coin when you click the measurement button.
Another great one 🎉
Much thanks! Happy Thanksgiving
