Freddy would never refuse to look at the lights. He did the job for the final girl in literally every single movie he did. He even jobbed to Jason in a movie made by the studio that’s literally called “the house that Freddy built” because the success of nightmare 1 kept them from going out of business.
Yeah so tired of the stand toe to toe slapping and punching fights that look horrible. Also does every person on the roster have to be in a faction. Theres 8-10 guys outside the ring not in the match, clogging up everything
I comment this on every other wrestling news like slat rock wrestling, wrestletalk, cultaholic and what culture! They all hate it. Ishiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeee lmfao
I miss when I didn't know about the blade jobs. They both looked so tired in there. One of them fell from being tired. I can't remember which one. But ever since I heard about the blade jobs I now see it everytime.
I love Brian's disappointed alright... After Jim's ishiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii 🤣 I love when Jim goes off on crazy stuff with his advertisers and Brian is trying to keep him on track and gives up 🤣 or when Jim is attacking someone's looks and Brian's like alright that's enough 🤣
Gunther, Benoit, Marufuji have all chopped people's chests to bits to draw real blood. Jericho blading his chest was lame as hell this coming from a jerichoholic...
Actually, it would've been dumb. At this point, Bryan has gone from being a main event quality talent to looking like just another guy on the roster. Why would it be smart to put the belt on a guy that passed out to Danny Garcia?
JeriBloat bladed his own chest so he could get in a 15 min slap fight with ISHII-EEEEEEEEEE. Yeah, this is what people really wanted to see the night before Thanksgiving, two over-cooked turkeys slapping each other while a horse made faces.
In the context of a new Japan match I don't mind when they square up and start hitting each other. The announcers make a point to explain that new Japan training puts a heavy emphasis on attempting to psychologically beat your opponent by withstanding their best shot and giving them one of yours. They explain in detail how the psychological edge that you gain from doing that outweighs the physical trauma that you are putting your body through. When they just randomly start doing it on American TV where none of that context has been established it doesn't translate well at all. It just seems like two idiots standing there hitting each other. And I get that no matter what I say, at the end of the day it is too idiots standing there hitting each other, but basically all of wrestling is too idiots standing there hitting each other so I don't fault it too much for that
The “fighting spirit” spot also needs to work in the right context, not everyone did it when it was at its best. All of Kenta Kobashi’s big no sells came at appropriate times in his progression as someone who lost almost all his matches to the absolute legend he would become. When Dr Death dropped him on his head 3 times and he just got up he didn’t just hit a lariat straight after to a false finish or hulk up and get in his face, he struggled more and more every time. It was an era where that backdrop driver was THE finish and Kobashi’s matches were getting really competitive. Kobashi was built like a brick shit house but was able to sell himself as the ultimate underdog badass because he knew exactly when and how to sell his fighting spirit.
Another thing is that heels often pussy out or cheat. Taichi, Jay white, hell, even Naito will exchange some then go to the eyes or do something else. Taichi has a spot when he takes a chop and gives a kick repeatedly, which means he ALWAYS wins the exchange ect. It makes more sense when it's babyface vs babyface.
@@judgejudyandexecutioner.5223 Hell even Minoru when he couldn’t just get away with slap fights would bite and do joint manipulation when he wrapped up his fighting spirit spots. NJPW can be great but people learn all the wrong lessons

Agreed with Jim , that was probably the first time I’ve seen someone get juice from chops but it should have been saved for someone that’s actually gonna stay in the company
Commentary was the highlight of this episode of Dynamite. Not because it was so good but because they kept talking shit to each other & cracking jokes amongst each other
In all fairness, who else should've been in the main event slot? The world champion was a no show, Bryan's stock has plummeted and wasn't there to do anything other than play peacemaker, Moxley was going on vacay, and the Elite are locked in a best of 7 against the Death Triangle. Jericho is a world champion(albeit ROH world champion), and he's the only one that's consistently on TV.
Well then maybe Tony Khan shouldn't have ran off Punk and Cody and shouldn't have wasted a bunch of money signing former NXT guys that couldn't make it on the main roster. Maybe he should book better to create stars that could main event.
i dropped off the show way earlier. i really tried. i did my best to watch what i could. it just was too boring, off putting or stupid for me to continue though. maybe tonight might be okay with Dax vs Danielson. but that's about my limit of trying to catch up with this mess.
Because a hard chop is a safe hard way, that's why no one ever bladed for them. If an easy chop caused bleeding, it would mean every easy chop would need bleeding, since most people don't chop in fights and thus have no context to draw from other than what they see.
It's funny how Jim has such a hardon for Jericho, he's not the booker, if you want to blame someone, blame the booker, who also happens to be the owner of the company.
I watched Omohiro Ishiiiiiii in plenty New Japan shows. I don't get the appeal. I'm sure he was a decent worker whenever his prime was but god damn he has no business in a ring right now. Jericho too.
This match was fucking painful to get through! I like Ishii but this match was so fucking bad. I had to fast forward through most of it. Seeing him get bitched slapped by Claudio as the show went off the air was hilarious
I think the whole purpose of this match is to show Jericho "still got it" and can handle this hard-hitting style too. I would never believe it if someone told me that wrestlers like Kenta Kobashi, Tomohiro Ishii, and Katsuyori Shibata will inspire the most redundant cliche in pro wrestling today. These "strong style" punching exchanges need to go. Boring, very predictable and it doesn't even make wrestlers look tough at this point.
I don’t watch wrestling anymore, but I caught this live and was crying laughing. The most ridiculous match I’ve ever seen. In my head I was like “surely the slapping will be done soon” but no that was the whole thing 😂
Ishii is a great talent but there's a good reason he's been around in New Japan for like 20 years and never got into the main event and only even got into anyone's conciousness at all because they added another midcard title pretty much only for the older forgotten talent to do something. No idea why Western companies think these are the guys to bring in to get over. That or its just those are the only talent New Japan will give them.
