very warm overview, thanks for that. I first noticed Quo by hearing the "On the level" album and from there on followed the guys throught all their heights and lows. The worst times were hearing that Rick had throat cancer, which luckily didn't turn out to be true, the output of the second and third cover album, and finally the loss of Rick, which for me was a death sentence for the band. I completely agree with your statement that the songs on “Backbone” sound mechanical. There is a lack of dynamism, perhaps also due to Leon Cave's controlled drum style and the fact that Rick's contribution is missing and maybe that the boys ultimately are aging ..as we all do. The sound on it is terrible and not worthy of a band like this, I don't know if they're cutting corners here, many of the younger albums sound similar. I wish they had the sound of Rick's Swan Song, which to me sounds like a decent rock album. Last time i saw the boys was summer last year at an open air event in Germany. They were enbedded between old companions of Nazareth (opener) and Uriah Heep (following). Based on their popularity in Germany, Status Quo were the headliners and most of the 15,000 people certainly came for them and expectations were high. It hurts to say it was a disappointment. While the other bands exuded joy and energy on stage (the very things that have made Status Quo their trademark for decades), Quo seemed stiff and routined and dragged down a lackluster show. Their sound also fell far short of that of the other two bands. I was hoping for a rousing intro from Caroline and it was almost inaudible even when the band jumped in. It sounded squeezed, as if an amateur band was allowed to play in between them two frigates. At first I thought whether they had problems with the sound or it was about the time, but when uriah heep started at 11 p.m. and was in full sound, it was clear that it had nothing to do with that. The people were also visibly disappointed and it's a shame, but I won't go to another concert, the risk of it erasing all of these other memorable concerts from my memory is too great. I was able to see 3 of the 2013/14 reunion shows - THESE should remain in my memory as the end of my nearly lifelong musical love. ..got a little longer than expected here, thanks for reading

from memory they put out 2 singles as The Status Quo, Pictures of Matchstick Men and Ice in the sun.
Blue for you was the last album i bought . The early albums are the only ones listen too.
The earliest ones are their best to be fair
