Hi Brandon, i actually don't see the point in adding masks to several layers on top of each other this way. The purpose of HDR is usually to take care of highlights on one end, and shadows on the other hand, on top of a base layer (so 3 frame in total, as we can see in so many of your videos).
But here it seems like each new operation overwrites the previous one, since you're supposed to preserve highlights (the window) which ends up blown out at the end...
Is there a real value with those 5 layers instead of 3 ?

Great tutorial! Thanks a lot! you didn't use any flash but only ambient light for this photo, did I get that right?

Thank you for this! I'm pretty new to editing, so i don't have much intuition for building a workflow. This is invaluable to me!

Thanks. Excellent tutorial. I have been shooting flambient for years but always was attracted to hdr. This is a much more complex workflow than flambient, but i will experiment with hdr on my next shoot.

      Thank you so much!
I started out as the opposite. I first got into HDR photography, then into flambient.
What HDR has me considering is the speed in which you can photograph a property. Now once I can get the editing time for HDR down to an hour for 35 images then I'll be happy. Otherwise I stick to flash/ambient.
In this case though, I only had an hour to shoot a video, take photos, and a virtual tour; so HDR was a must!

You might know this, but with lumenzia, with all the layers selected if you hit the "PreBlend" button, it will auto align + make a black mask on each of them. It will also give you the option to put arrange the layers from dark to light.. or light to dark, can't remember exactly. Great tutorial btw!!

Ah yes, thank you my friend!
I use preblend in my own workflow, though I like to show others who don't have Lumenzia the route I would take without it.
I'll have to make an in depth tutorial on it but I certainly appreciate and love your help, thank you!

Using Pen tool to mask out windows is not good, has to be a better technique for HDR window pulls.

I'm looking for better ways, though I agree with you 100%

Flambient is quicker and get better natural results. No color cast.

I know, though unfortunately for this shoot I only had an hour or so to shoot a video, 360 tour, and photograph the whole restaurant. Needless to say that I had no time to properly flash each scene so I just went with exposure bracketing instead.

that kind of scene might not be the easiest for flambient in my humble opinion
