Say what you want to about Jordan, he was a humble loser and a humble winner. I like how he gives Pippen, and Grant credit as well for the series win against their arch rivals.
Renegade Musik Jordan was a real competitor and very professional too. He hates losing but he acknowledged their weaknesses as a team, came back & became champions. It took them a while, but when they got to the top they defended it. Teams lately can just change teammates which is not an assurance too they can play excellent basketball
And holding the Utah Jazz to 54 points in the finals... lowest points ever in the shot clock era (at the time)... including regular season games.... lol! But it's ironically funny that the Bulls, without Jordan, now hold the record at 48 points.... even funnier!
A K That's what so sickening about the way the media talks about LBJ and the Cavs. You would think that the best player on a team by far carrying the heavy load was something new in basketball. Win together lose together no matter what, I think Lebron has allowed this thinking to seep into his own.
“The Pistons are undeserving champions,” Jordan said on the day between Games 3 and 4 in Detroit in 1991. “The Bad Boys are bad for basketball.” “Most people I know will be happy the Pistons aren’t champions anymore . . . they didn’t play the kind of basketball you want to endorse . . . ” ”I don`t think people want that kind of basketball. I think they want to push that type of basketball out. We may not have liked Boston because they (the Celtics) won, but they were a good, sound basketball team. Not shakinh hands after that comment.
I absolutely love, respect and admire Isiah. He was a straight KILLER. But he showed his lack of class here. Happily greeting MJ when he won but showing no class in a loss. Definitely was a sore loser in this case.
Read the title of the video and comment from Ball Is Life. Tell me what that has to do with the Boston Celtics.... so if you're trying to make some kind of point, why don't you post it foh
Arturo Bandini You didn't answer his question, what does the Celtics have to do with this situation? If your trying to say that walking off the court with time left, without congratulating your opponent in a loss is the normal practice then your wrong. Either way it still has nothing to do with why this video was posted or takes away from the point the video is trying to make.
damn, after watching his interview after losing, even better than his interviews after winning. Really impressed by his heart and perseverance. That truly separates him from others. Had me thinking about my own failures in life and to face them head on. Thanks MJ for the great inspiration.
You've got to love what he says. Truly inspiring. That clock strikes 0 and it's next season for him. There's no blaming teammates. There's no complaining about calls. He straight up says they were not the better team. He says he's disappointed and he says they can only look forward. What an excellent leader.
Its amazing how hard Isiah Thomas pushes that Lebron is a better player than MJ. if you are good in a win you should be great in a loss. He showed no class with a splash of poor sportsmanship. But this flash back shows how bad he wants Lebron to be known as the best.
That's one of the very reasons why MJ is beloved by many. Got his ass handed to him time after time never faltered. Didn't leave for greener pastures, didn't team up with superstars just put in the work and overcame. Got to the top and stayed on top...
Jordan had the ultimate grace and respect. There are no players in the NBA like this now. Michael was the best, still is the best and always will be the best. His professionalism, great attitude as well as his un matched drive will always keep him above the rest.
TREMENDOUS CLASS!!!! I’ve often said some very harsh things about Jordan, this is OUTSTANDING! Only an idiot would find some way to criticize him here........ Classy in defeat & classy in victory.......
It´s obviously that Jordan is not only a better winner, but also a better loser than Thomas. But what I picked up from this video is the very clear mutual respect that Rodman and Jordan had to eachother (and Dumars).
But u didn't pick up the fact they were interviewing MJ after he just lost the series...Whew 31pts in a loss. The reason they left the way they did was (mostly Lambier, but) they were the "Bad Boys" and it was an obvious end to their entire run.
Funny how all these stories of MJ being a jerk in practice towards his teammates have surfaced as of late. However I've seen many interviews he's done over his career and noticed he's never thrown any one of them under the bus or rip into them in public. He always praises them and despite getting the credit he deserves he's always mentioned "It's a team thing"...Much respect to the G.O.A.T....From a Knicks supporter...
I never knew how nice of a person was MJ already back in the day. He's clean. His positivity matches his skill on the field and the lightness of his spirit matches the way he flies through the air when he dunks. Now I can see why he was the goat then already. Good video.
Jordan only had success because of Pippin, and it showed when he went to the Wizards, and it showed when Jordan crawled back from baseball to Pippin cuz Jordan knew he couldn't win anywhere else without Pippen, but he is the goat, but he's not the greatest basketball player, cuz that's Kobe Bryant
Lmao no wonder Jordan hated Isaiah. Those first two eliminations looks like he got over the ice out game and showed respect but the way they walked off in ‘91 was probably the last straw for him
Isiah also froze MJ out in the ASG during MJ's rookie season. He's also the one who thought of the "Jordan Rules." Of course, MJ got the last laugh when he denied Isiah a gold medal. And i think Isiah will always be bitter of THAT. Because Isiah deserved to be on the Dream Team over Stockton. Everyone knew that.
Ball Is Life Isaiah didn’t freeze anyone out. The leagues veteran stars did of their own accord. They felt mike was showing them up and he took backlash from it. Mike even said he was tentative that night in order to show how he didn’t want problems. articles.chicagotribune.com/1985-02-12/sports/8501080975_1_dunk-show-players-attitudes-star-treatment Mike and the bulls also berated the pistons before they knocked them off so it’s not like it was full sour grapes from the pistons for no reason. Every team was physical and could hit hard. Pistons just had the team philosophy that everyone should buy into it and not just the “enforcers” on the team.
SportingMinds Whatever man, actions speak louder than words. IT was the leader, in games things are said by both teams, but it matters how you act in defeat. It was a low point in IT career, he has and always will envy MJ even to this day no matter what he says. He was left off the dream team because nobody wanted him there not just MJ and Scottie.
+DNICE41 If actions speak louder than words then Jordan should of just let his play speak and should of never threw a hissy fit about Isiah being on the dream team. Since he did then by your logic he's just as much of a sore ass as Isaiah. Jordan was also the leader of Bulls when they ridiculed the Pistons (which was done off the court in both post-game press conferences ua-cam.com/video/lFK82GvfYyc/v-deo.html and articles articles.chicagotribune.com/1991-05-28/sports/9102170643_1_bulls-triumph-bad-boys-image-joe-dumars) so quit the holy than thou perspective of Bulls, they showed their petty faces when the time came. No doubt that Isiah was envious of Jordan because of the love he got from his home town of Chicago but considering that his team was able to taken down the Bulls 3 times as well as being embraced by Detroit he seems to be alright. As to the other people that wanted him off the team; everyone in the league had enforcers, the pistons made everyone on the team adopt that mentality. Other teams tried to do it but couldn't because they didn't realize it's not about just physically beating down an opponent you have to be good skill-wise as well. ua-cam.com/video/ozCXf2zH-94/v-deo.html
Magic Johnson was head and shoulders above Isiah Thomas in every way as a point guard. Isiah would have at most been his backup. So he wasn't really needed.
But than Jordan displayed unsportsmanlike conduct when he later was one game away from beating the Pistons saying that they are unworthy champions. Acting like a bunch of bitches by disrespecting one of the greatest teams in NBA history.
sam hawkz but Michael was always the best player in the finals tho. We can’t say that about lebron, like it was mentioned already, he was outplayed by a 6th man in the finals before. Something like that should not and would not ever happen to the real goat...
Without this man there will be no Kobe, Kd, Lebron etc. Basketball will still be an old school, no fade away, cross over, post fade away in post etc perfectly period
Deric Gregory Zeke’s biggest mistake was not speaking up when Laimbeer came up with a dumb idea. Pretty sure the walk out was Laimbeer’s idea. But Zeke showed his own character by following his very bad advice. Draymond Green gets my respect because when the Cavs won the title, he initially walked to the locker room. Then he felt like an immature brat and stormed back out to congratulate the Cavs players. Winning and losing with grace is so important to sportsmanship.

The guy to my surprise didn’t jump up swinging but his father was there and was trying to fight me and I was kicked out of the gym permanently. So to answer your statement would I cry about physical play NO I would just get even
fish ball the basketball ball I’ve played is even more physical and dirty than anything in the NBA because there are no refs in street ball and fouls and physical play can get out of hand. I have had guys hit me with cheap shot elbows to the throat, chest, guys try and undercut you when your in the air all kinds of shit and I don’t cry or quit. I just wait to get even during the game and unlike most guys trying to be sneaky about playing dirty I’ll tell a guy on the court I’m going to get them back to their face. trust me pal you don’t know me.
I knew that losing only made Jordan's fire burn hotter than ever to win. You could virtually feel his pain and desire to finally defeat the cheapshot Pistons boil over and then... SWEEP!!
Heart of champion to acknowledge and accept defeat, same couldn't be said to the same players a year later when they defeated by MJ and the Bulls. Pistons walked away and its slap in the of the man who is now the GOAT.
His fair sportsmanship in all aspects of winning and loosing made the legacy that created the value of a brand that we all love. Jordan Brand is the Mercedes-Benz of basketball. Imagine what hype could have been caused in the social media of today ...
This is the epitome of winner! Even thou he lost, he left emotions out and actually praised the Pistons for beating them... "They were the better team!"
NBA players not cant even speak this well. MJ IS A CLASS ACT! No tattoos never bragged about his money 💰 or his endorsement or anything in public to the general area! Dude is a legend!
This is the reason why MJ is the Greatest.. He knows how to be professional every question he is being asked for.. and giving credits who help him to acheive ultimate Goal.. Championships!
Anyone here after LeBron walked off the court with 5 minutes and 40 seconds to go in game 5 vs Suns? Then walked off after being eliminated without shaking anyones hand in game 6?
U can tell Jordan was holding back tears but still gracious enough to congratulate the winners...He did it all in respect to the game of BASKETBALL and In return? The game of basketball granted him 6-0. Think about it? Lebron just started to really respect the game completely oppose to trading out players..jumping ship .. passive aggressiveness etc... he respected his body above the game of basketball...they go hand in hand... UNTIL these modern day players RESPECT the game of basketball it won’t matter how high they can jump, how great they can shoot...they won’t achieve greatness at the level of their athleticism 🤷🏾♂️🤔.... Respect the game of BASKETBALL and all greats that came before u!!!
Congratulate the winners when you lose. Shake their hands and answer any stupid questions the press may ask - "how are your emotions now, Michael, sadness? Frustration?" You don't walk off the court with time left on the clock (Pistons). You don't stand up and walk off the post game interview (LBJ). You handle yourself exactly like this man did here. As competitive as MJ was, you know this is the last thing he wanted to do, but he did it anyway.
Yeah, go watch the interview. There's a huge difference between not congratulating the other team after a loss and exiting a media interview. That type of comparison proves your bias.
angelofdeathjk - I did watch the interview. The reporter kept badgering LeBron about JR Smith. He asked the same question over and over. LeBron was obviously annoyed (I would have been too), put the mic down and left. He's getting paid 30 million. Answering stupid questions is part of his job description. If you or I walked out of a meeting because we didn't like the question, we'd be unemployed. James could have simply said "I'm done answering the question...next question" and moved on
I come to this video once and a while after major failures/setbacks in my own life. As great as we all know Mike to be he lost, learned and never gave up and grew into becoming the goat. Keep pressing 💪🏽
The true goat, the real goat, the one and only goat not someone who loses every year and blames he has no help, and it's his fault, it's her fault, it's my barbers fault, it's the cops fault, it's the Walmart employees fault. Wins like a champ, loses like a champ, the real goat.
Did he ever say he lost because of someone else . Damn it man you guys always push your narrative on other people to make a fucking point . You came on a video about MJ but you have to talk about LeBron . How insecure are you ? Always have to diminish one person because you like the other . Same reason why this whole country is divided . People can’t just support who they support without tarnishing others .
How he lose every year and he is in the finals. This nigga Jordan had the team, coach, and skill. That same team won 55 games and lost in 7 in the eastern conference years later. Foh. Lebron is the goat. Jordan never carried a team by himself
Very Humble. No whining and complaining. Truly the best player in NBA history. Only player to win 6 Finals and 6 Finals MVPs when there were at least 20 teams in the league. Amazing leader! No player today will come close to surpass him to become the GOAT.
We don’t have any idea how hurt Jordan was when he got defeated twice by pistons but he still congratulated them. Even though they beat him physically until he bled out. His level of professionalism and love of basketball was top notch. When he defeated the pistons they just walked away in disgrace without shook their hands. No class at all. Except joe dumars and John salley. People say when you at your lowest you will see the true of your color and they showed theirs. That’s why Jordan still mad at them till now.

That "home court advantage" talk was the gentleman's way of saying "Fool you know damn well I wanna win my first title vs Magic & the Lakers. Tell Clyde nem I'll holla next season✌🏾"
IT will never live this down. The way he just ducks and pretends not to see MJ and the rest of the bulls team as he walked off the court early. Broadcaster...GREAT JOB putting together the endings of the 1989, 1990 and 1991 Bulls-Pistons Conference Finals matchups like this, we can see how Michael Jordan showed respect and sportsmanship to the Pistons when he lost to them, while the Pistons acted like COWARDS and WEASELS by walking off the court with seconds left on the clock when they lost to the Bulls. It's not shown here, but John Salley stayed on the court to congratulate the Bulls, so he wasn't as cowardly as his teammates. The Pistons walked off the court with seconds left in 1991 because after the Bulls went up 3-0 in Detroit, Michael Jordan told the newspapers/press that the Pistons were a dirty team and bad for the game. The Pistons took offense to Jordan's comments and as the Bulls began to blow out the Pistons in Game 4, Bill Laimbeer/Isiah Thomas decided to walk off the court with time left on the clock as revenge. I understand that the Pistons were mad that Jordan was bad-mouthing them to the press while he was in the process of humiliating them on the court, but you can't walk off the court with seconds left in a game under any circumstance...YOU'VE GOT TO TAKE YOUR AZZ KICKING LIKE A MAN!!! If the Pistons were mad at Jordan, they should have waited for the clock to hit zero and just walked off without acknowledging him.
He was always the GOAT, even before he made it to the top. He rationally knew what had to be done..a step by step process to become dominant. Once his mental game caught up with his physical talents, The accolades proceeded what we all already knew.."God disguised in basketball shoes"
Extremely admirable. MJ is the greatest. Everyone comes up short of their expectation sometime in life, but you have to take it how he did. Absolute champion. He put in the work and let it speak for him. Never give up on defeat, take it as a lesson and make your success sweeter.

Renegade Musik he told the truth
Deonte Baker agreed
Andre Ritter - I don't care how he is "behind the scenes". There's something to be said for having professionalism and class in public.
and MJ indeed fit in the triangle offense. Everybody touched the ball. That's one thing separates him and Kobe/Lebron.

@@EldePHX you have to lose to eventually win. Still undefeated in finals. 🤘
And holding the Utah Jazz to 54 points in the finals... lowest points ever in the shot clock era (at the time)... including regular season games.... lol! But it's ironically funny that the Bulls, without Jordan, now hold the record at 48 points.... even funnier!
Michael Jordan always had class no matter the outcome we lose we lost as a team we win we won as a team.
A K
That's what so sickening about the way the media talks about LBJ and the Cavs.
“The Bad Boys are bad for basketball.”
“Most people I know will be happy the Pistons aren’t champions anymore . . . they didn’t play the kind of basketball you want to endorse . . . ”
”I don`t think people want that kind of basketball. I think they want to push that type of basketball out. We may not have liked Boston because they (the Celtics) won, but they were a good, sound basketball team.
Not shakinh hands after that comment.
Cry baby Pistons
I absolutely love, respect and admire Isiah. He was a straight KILLER. But he showed his lack of class here. Happily greeting MJ when he won but showing no class in a loss. Definitely was a sore loser in this case.
Isiah still hates MJ up to this day lol
Why don't you post it ? Go find and post it ....what a dumb ass question.
Read the title of the video and comment from Ball Is Life. Tell me what that has to do with the Boston Celtics.... so if you're trying to make some kind of point, why don't you post it foh
Arturo Bandini
You didn't answer his question, what does the Celtics have to do with this situation? If your trying to say that walking off the court with time left, without congratulating your opponent in a loss is the normal practice then your wrong. Either way it still has nothing to do with why this video was posted or takes away from the point the video is trying to make.
Arturo Bandini
The Celtics doing it was classless as well.
Those battles with the Bad Boys made MJ the player he turned into. Made him work even harder. He's my goat
damn, after watching his interview after losing, even better than his interviews after winning. Really impressed by his heart and perseverance. That truly separates him from others. Had me thinking about my own failures in life and to face them head on. Thanks MJ for the great inspiration.
John
He lost😂
@@CreativeBigL You just don't get it
You've got to love what he says. Truly inspiring. That clock strikes 0 and it's next season for him. There's no blaming teammates. There's no complaining about calls. He straight up says they were not the better team. He says he's disappointed and he says they can only look forward. What an excellent leader.
well spoken..
There ain't no moral victories 😂
MJ was smart, he said all that to the media but in the locker room and front office he was probably stomping them lol
Jordan was my sport Idol growing up. Still don't regret it.
Fascinating
Its amazing how hard Isiah Thomas pushes that Lebron is a better player than MJ. if you are good in a win you should be great in a loss. He showed no class with a splash of poor sportsmanship. But this flash back shows how bad he wants Lebron to be known as the best.
Andre Ritter - So because his opinion is the same as yours, he doesn't hate MJ? Lmao okay bro
But LeBron is a better player. There is no real debate.
Mad King facts
Mad King You’re an idiot if you think that lol
skywalk3x and Lebron doesn’t show class or humility in losing? Tf
That's one of the very reasons why MJ is beloved by many. Got his ass handed to him time after time never faltered. Didn't leave for greener pastures, didn't team up with superstars just put in the work and overcame. Got to the top and stayed on top...
He was probably more sad than anything else which allowed him to be humble. True competitor. Know he had to get better to win
alfatrinininja I agree with you. I have a book here that says he cries a lot to his dad Everytime they lose but never gave up. MJ was one of a kind
SONICE69
trust me, being a coach its hard as hell trying to shake the hands of the victor.
Look at mjs hall of fame speech
It´s obviously that Jordan is not only a better winner, but also a better loser than Thomas. But what I picked up from this video is the very clear mutual respect that Rodman and Jordan had to eachother (and Dumars).
John Salley was gracious as well. I think he was the only one to congratulate the Bulls after the Pistons got swept.
Deric Gregory Dumas also congratulated them too
depannist - Yeah him too. Not all of them were a-holes.
Jordan stated that Dumars was the best defender that he's ever faced. That's saying a lot
But u didn't pick up the fact they were interviewing MJ after he just lost the series...Whew 31pts in a loss. The reason they left the way they did was (mostly Lambier, but) they were the "Bad Boys" and it was an obvious end to their entire run.
The best basketball player ever.
In the history of the game
Funny how all these stories of MJ being a jerk in practice towards his teammates have surfaced as of late. However I've seen many interviews he's done over his career and noticed he's never thrown any one of them under the bus or rip into them in public. He always praises them and despite getting the credit he deserves he's always mentioned "It's a team thing"...Much respect to the G.O.A.T....From a Knicks supporter...
Quite a different reaction from LeBron when he loses
I never knew how nice of a person was MJ already back in the day. He's clean. His positivity matches his skill on the field and the lightness of his spirit matches the way he flies through the air when he dunks. Now I can see why he was the goat then already. Good video.
That’s why MJ is so successful! Champions mentality 🐐🐐

What excuse does Isiah have? Dude even ducked his head on the way out to avoid handshakes.
Mike even said he was tentative that night in order to show how he didn’t want problems. articles.chicagotribune.com/1985-02-12/sports/8501080975_1_dunk-show-players-attitudes-star-treatment
Mike and the bulls also berated the pistons before they knocked them off so it’s not like it was full sour grapes from the pistons for no reason. Every team was physical and could hit hard. Pistons just had the team philosophy that everyone should buy into it and not just the “enforcers” on the team.
SportingMinds
Whatever man, actions speak louder than words.

U can tell Jordan was holding back tears but still gracious enough to congratulate the winners...He did it all in respect to the game of BASKETBALL and In return? The game of basketball granted him 6-0. Think about it?

Thats why he's the GOAT.
