I remember in NCAA'05 or '06 after a big play or sack you could hold L2 and X or another combination of inputs to make your player celebrate. Depending on which animation you chose, the refs would throw an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on your team. It's been almost 20 years, and I can guarantee the game won't be as deep as it was back then. They always take the small things that made the game immersive away. Same with the radio stations and post season drills and mini games on Madden.

I remember in 06 road to glory you had to pick a major and take exams and tests lol if you failed you got suspended or in dynasty you had to suspend players for off the field violations or else the NCAA would penalize your program.
Great post. I had personal storylines of when players were getting suspended in the College Football game and that translated into my Madden storylines
@@cjboyer4355shiii I still play ncaa07 and madden 07. I have the full named rosters from the 2006 ncaa season and stay importing them into madden and editing the new recruits to top draft picks from years after. Can have a franchise go 15+ with all real guys
And most the time is the nfl making EA take stuff out
Some little details I would love to be in the game:
1. Smaller Crowds for underperforming teams. Say your dynasty team was like Sam Houston this year. Horrible. The crowds should be smaller because you’re not doing well, just like real life. As your team starts to win games, the fans start showing up.
2. Signing with a new Brand. For example, Louisville is signed with Adidas. In my dynasty I should be able to sign with Nike, and the patch on the jersey and logos should replace from Adidas to Nike.
3. Athletic Director Mode. There should be a mode where you can handle all things for your program such as concession prices, ticket prices, budget, stadium renovations, etc.
4. Transfer portal HAS to have depth. The same goes with NIL.
5. Conference Realignment, just like the old games. I would love for the conference realignment to be exactly like NCAA 14. However, I think there should be an option a couple years into your dynasty to move conferences. In NCAA 14 I believe you couldn’t.
6. Traditions. For example: the tomahawk chop, joker and the thief at the start of the fourth for Louisville, the clemson rock, the notre dame sign, etc.

Yes, smaller crowds when schools are performing well. That's been a pet peeve. The crowd noise of a small crowd is not going to have the same effect as a large crowd. And adding to that, I would like to here some "boo's" during games.
Athletic Director Mode would be awesome. I've always like the "Owner" mode in games.
Conference Realignment is difficult because you have specific bowl game rules. The issue with NCAA 14 is that you couldn't remove a conference or create a new one. One school had to be in the 'Independent' conference, which sucked. With the implosion of the Pac12 conference and so many new schools moving from FCS to FBS, I'd hope they add more flexibility here.
Commentary wise, I'd like to see Pat McAffee, but I'd also like to local or regional commentary, unless it's a 'Nationally televised' game. I remember, way back when, if your school wasn't televised at all, no commentary would be available. Those silent games were weird, but you heard to stadium announcers more.
Besides the jerseys, I hope the player customization is deeper than it is in madden. Especially considering I see more creative liberties in ncaa rather than the NFL
Madden did change everything about their player customization this year after about 20 years of the same exact feel and look

This is the most hyped I’ve been for a game ever because I never played ncaa 14 when it was full of online players and I am more of a college fan than nfl fan since Tom Brady retired and there is no professional team in my home state

My state has two D1 college teams, WVU and Marshall. Don’t have any nfl. So I’ve always loved NCAA more than NFL and I’m also hyped asf for this game
Your state doesn’t have to have a team just root for the one closest to you that is on tv every week. Technically my state doesn’t have a team either but I’m a die hard Chiefs fan because I live 90 miles from KC.

One of the details I used to love was how NCAA used to track stats and records. It would keep track of NCAA and school records, your overall stats had a bigger impact on awards. For example, Madden seems to just focus on rushing for RBs, but NCAA was all about All-purpose yards (rushing, receiving, return, etc.)
Yeah that was 05 06 07 it was fun because Reggie bush was a true all purpose player and it reflected well having those stats in the game.

Dark screen, sounds mimicking heartbeats. Heartbeats slowly turn into snare cadences, screen gets lighter and lighter until a “college athlete”
Is revealed partially, and they just drop a date or “coming July”. That would be subtle and fire at the same time

I can't wait until NCAA comes out in July but as a NHL play sports fan I'd love to see them put the Frozen Four in there as they have the world juniors in there so it will be interesting to see if they put College hockey into the next NHL

I know ea always said that ncaa and madden were the same mechanics and gameplay but I the collage games always felt so much better that I don't beleive that for a second. ESPECIALLY the running in the last few games like 12,13, & 14 . The way you could knife through the defense made literally each and every run feel like it could go the distance. And I hope that this is going to be the same way and be different then madden because while madden has gotten better in the last few years it's still no where near what the ncaa games were. I'm not getting my hopes up but man I want this to be Good so bad. NCAA were my all time fav games

i dont think people realize just how long a game takes to get made. all the way from design, coding, graphics, mechanics, etc. If anything, I'd rather a game take longer b/c its more time polish any mistakes and/or blemishes.

i think thats the problem, i understand what you are saying what weve got historically is a trailer 2 monthsish before release, but thats when they were on a yearly release cycle, since this game has been in production for 4 year and not even a glimpse of gameplay or anything is crazy.
2k and Madden not showing gameplay for their games 6-7 months in advance is a false equivalent to NCAA not doing it. 2k and Madden CANT show gameplay for their new games that early because they’re still in the middle of marketing and pushing their current games that are already released. There’s no good reason NCAA can’t show gameplay for a game that’s predecessor is a decade old at this point. If they’re truly on track the way they say, there should be something they have confidence in showing this early.

The only thing we have seen is the OSU mascot and some screenshots of the big house. I think they will show a few mascots and a few stadiums and drop the release date hopefully.

Man I need this game to come out, Idk what it is or how to explain it but madden is just not doing it for me anymore. The game feels clunky and not smooth at all and Idk if anyone else feels the same. Moving a player around feelings like im moving a tree stump if that makes sense, turning up field with a player feels like a semi trying to make a narrow turn. I hope this game is better.
Specifically interested in how recruits I specifically create will be able to look, attributes I can give them and how many I can make. I tested the limits with NCAA 14 and its 25. I goofed and made like 200 players without realizing this 😂 But will we be able to say make a player that has a certain type of beard or hairstyle, lip size, eye shape? Stuff like that
200 for one recruiting class you did? Madden completely changed their customization this past year after about 20 years of the same look and feel
i can’t wait to see how they handle gameday traditions leading to kickoff. i would also like to see if they find a way to incorporate college gameday into pregame as well
I honestly think if they bring back the 05,06 feeling but just better graphic I would be ok wit that. The mechanics wasn't that bad but a little tweek is all they need.

I bet that EA will release a committal during either the rose/sugar bowl or during the national Championship. Most of the college football eyes will be on at that time so that makes the most sense marketing wise.

Sports games come out ever year so they dont have to release a trailer this game has been gone for almost 10 years i think you want to get people hyped a lot sooner specially if people think this game wont come out.

July 10th 2024 is most likely the release date, because if it’s anything like madden, the release date will follow one day after their last title aka madden 15 for example drops on August 12th, the 16 would drop on August 13th a year later. NCAA 14 dropped on July 9th 2013 so the next release should be July 10th 2024.

At the end of the day money talks. Didn’t think it would be over a decade later but I knew it would be back and I’ve been ok with the few pushbacks.
Love football and hope this is done right, I'd even wait another year if they need it. Don't rush this. Also can we bring back March Madness. College basketball needs to come back to gaming aswell!

I know not a ton of people care much, but for us that do… are there any updates on the academy teams being in the game? They cannot receive NIL due to government rules and they already get paid to go there.

I'm just hoping that one day they'll add the coolest feature I've seen in the series: Team Builder. Build a custom team, upload, download, it was sick. People created a ton of high school teams, which was my favorite thing to play. We shall see..

I still think there is a ton to do with NIL crap…. either EA releases this game this summer with some teams not even being in the game, or game will be released with jersey numbers only without the ability to edit players, or it will flat out not be released and pushed to 2025.
I've been playing the college football series since the beginning but now don't have faith in EA. I'll take the wait and see approach.

Completely understandable. One thing to consider however is since this is a relaunch they've had the time to really sit with ideas and hash out the game and really build it from the ground up. They can't do that with Madden. They don't have the benefit of time and we've seen it suffer tremendously as a result. Either way I'm happy to have a college game. If I don't like the way the game plays I'll just recruit and call plays. I don't care at this point😂

I expect the gameplay to be just as obnoxious as all the others. Played the game since the 90's when it was on DOS. They will take the shortcuts...ie use the ability to see your play call to call their defense, Miracle interceptions to aggravate you, The 160 lb CB will still drive your 250 LB TE backward, etc. That said, I'll buy the game as its still fun.
Any news on the new stadiums for the teams?
EA did come to my town and took pictures on the college campus here for the game.
I would rather NOT have favorite team loading screens if I don't want them, I prefer the NBA Live approach where they would show every team
All of your points about sport games not releasing any teaser so far ahead is invalid as all the games u named are yearly releases that are in progress for many years now.
If theres a whole new game starting up, for example we seen in the Football game department games that hyped themselves up long before the release, only to have a lackluster game. Same with soccer, we seen a new “competition” for Fifa arise and they even announced Cristiano Ronaldo as their partner. The game isn’t scheduled to come out before 25/26 tho.
The reason that many people doubt the existence of the game is because its a new series that doesn’t get talked about, not just a yearly re-release that doesn’t get talked about yet.

Not that I'm high on the quality of madden (franchise mode is lazy), but this is actually big news for EA. Madden is so stale. They need NCAA to come back for their reputation. I hope they have a good release.
