it would be fun to watch you do a new violin build from start to finish a multi-part series would probably be quite popular theres a guy who did one but hes an amature seeing a real pro job would be fascinating and i bet THAT violin would sell for quite a price even as just a UA-cam collectible
@@AskOlaftheViolinmaker im keen to watch it, watching the series made by the amature guy i was telling about was quite informative even though the violin didnt turn out sounding particularly great. he used cherry for the back and sides( looked stunning sounded just ok), but it was intended more as a bluegrass fiddle not as a proper violin, for that purpose a more primitive homemade sound is actually quite fitting. gave it quite a down home back porch kinda vibe, the two tone cherry back and sides with the amber spruce top was a distinctive look too take a look ua-cam.com/video/POPnyJiORSc/v-deo.html
How fascinating, Olaf. You seem to have created the right work-life balance. Skateboarding! Now that was a surprise but then maybe not, as you seem such a youthful, fun fellow. Up for anything. Exercise, getting outside, meditation, Nature, are all key. "Sleep too" says I binge watching your vids at 3am!

I love watching your videos because they show that being a violin maker isn't just a profession or career for you but a labor of love which I find extremely gratifying to experience with each video.Thank you for sharing with us. I find the not so pretty aspects of stringed instruments fascinating....how each part works together to create a synergy that can lift the soul with joy. Again a very humble and sincere thank you.
I noticed that you began your day with a formal meditation. But after watching what must often be, hours long solitude, uninterrupted gentle loving touch, and quiet compassion for your “patient,” it seems to me, that the entire day of the violin maker is at times, one long, lovely, therapeutic, meditation.
This whole video was like balm for an exhausted soul. Just the right amount of calmness and really nice mood. I would love to visit your shop one day (in case I was travelling so far), it's so cozy in there, also full of love for violins and such. Oh and the amount of instruments you have to check for school is a bit overwhelming 😃.
Brett cameo!! I love this routine, I am going to start doing meditation because of this haha. I adore the fact that you are so active in your everyday life despite having quite an “indoorsy” job :)
Wonderful to spend the day with you. Summertime is a super piece of music. Unfair to leave me hanging. I’ll need to find it on UA-cam to hear it through then drop in in 2 Set Violin.
i really like your video's. I am learning a lot because of it. I really like the moments that you speak directley in to the camera. It makes me feel like you are talking directley to me

Love seeing that your transportation methods are walking, skateboarding, and bike riding on a daily basis (as opposed to driving everywhere). Also, awwww, Brett was the second client to visit in the morning. :)

I hope he doesn't "beat the devil" out of the violins!
