This was SO fun and whimsical. So much curiosity here, that really felt satisfying to drift through. That dirt section at the end was glorious. Brilliant as always.
Thank you!! Whimsical is right. Something about the idea of creating an algorithm for imperfection, and randomness is whimsical or almost a dad joke somehow. The idea of feedback as dirt is super fun. I've borrowed a Fairfield Hors'd'ouvre and have tried feeding back drives into themselves. It's pretty gnarly and fun to explore. :)
I feel like it’s never pristine but it does have a fair amount of range without getting gross. If the feedback is enabled it gets more broken sounding faster.
@@butsukete1806 Oh interesting. I've never tried that headphone preamp but mono price tends to make sweet gear for a good price. I like how weird bestie can get. That feedback on channel 3 is very fun.
Glorious sounds! Like Philip Glass inside a washing machine on the “soiled” setting 😙👌
That might be the best description ever. 🤣😂🥰

Super good. Looking forward to some Basement Lyle merch!
Thank you! I'm going to hit up a local print shop to see about shirts. It would be a fun project for sure. 😅🥰

Good stuff
Thanks! I'm such a noob with Ribbons but it's already awesome. 🥰
Are you able to get just a nice clean boost from Bestie? Or does it always break up a little once you get past unity gain?

Listening to this with a Bestie as headphone amp.
Oh good idea! I should use it that way.
@@basementlyle Just got mine a couple days ago, not sure it's as good as my Monoprice THX AAA one, but it sure is more fun.

@@basementlyle With the THX amps you can crank it really loud with zero distortion. The Bestie is the total opposite, it's all about distortion.
