“Freedom convoy” protesters demonstrated in parts of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Thursday, as groups continue to head to Ottawa ahead of a protest this week against COVID-related mandates.
Demonstrators gathered throughout parts of the GTA with some groups on top of overpasses in anticipation of convoys moving through.
Organizers of the protest describe the Canadian government’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for cross-border truckers to avoid quarantine as an example of political overreach resulting in economic harm, arguing the policy hurts small businesses and denies some workers the means to survive.

I work at Humber River Hospital. These people caused the Keele/401 ramp to be shut down. So while I'm leaving to get my son from daycare on time, I have to find the longer alternate route. Not sure if I'll make it on time, I had to call my wife. She had to leave her job (for which she won't be paid) to pick him up, so we won't we charged late pick up fees. It took me a hour and half to get home. Thanks guys, hope your little hissy fit is fun for you.

They have weighed their options and they have come to the conclusion that they would rather not be protected against Covid-19 then to get the vaccine. I don’t think that’s unreasonable, no one knows the long term side effects of these vaccines. People should have the right to choose.
And yes, private businesses can refuse to hire you if you are unvaccinated, but it shouldn’t be mandated by government.
You can disagree. I’m vaccinated and I disagree with some of the things the protesters are saying. But just because the majority disagrees doesn’t mean they should be allowed to strip away peoples fundamental human rights. Especially when it doesn’t affect them. People should be able to choose what they want to do with their own bodies in a free society.

Thousands of people from around Canada have stationed themselves above every overpass to stand in solidarity with them. Turns out truckers are fulfilling the role of government watchdog instead of the press and journalists. It's no wonder this national protest has occurred. All institutional trust is at a low.

This is a very small minority of Canadians. The majority of Canadians think this is the stupidest thing we've ever seen. The vast majority of Canadian truckers are fully vaccinated and wouldn't be caught dead in this convoy that was organized by the white supremacist Maverick party.

Stories like that have been aired multiple times...senior homes and hospital patients were some of the very first stories to be told. Sorry if that doesn't fit your conspiracy theory agenda. But I hope the truckers fix it.

Say whatever you want about the protest but good on Global for being out there showing their face and doing their job reporting on this live. They KNOW that many of these people there dislike mainstream media and most of the people are also generally mad.
EDIT: So far all is good. Global released an edited version of this video after this livestream and there was no narrative-spewing anchor talking in between the clips.

However it does minimize severe illness. So why are we still under these restriction? Ask yourself why their are full NFL stadiums of 70,000 plus in the states but you can’t even go to the gym here? How do you support these people, the first guy is talking about Trudeau needing a dick...that is literally the lowest form of discourse. That is not looking for discussion, it's being a no good punk who thinks bullying is the only way. The woman at the end was a nut job yelling about no Freedom...though she had the freedom to say that and those truckers have the freedom to drive around till the cows come home. These are people who have never had a hard day in their lives and are now experiencing difficulties so they rage out like a bunch of babies.
