This song was written for the RTE show "My Ireland". It also appears on the LP issued to tie in with the show (Johnny sings 2 songs and other participants in the show sing the other 10 songs). The RTE LP version is different to this single. Johnny also recorded this song in 1987 on the Sings For You album and again in 2014 on the Basement Sessions album.
The version on this single has never been reissued or included on any album.
