  • Join us for our 5th annual braille Reading Quest, January 23-27, 2023.
The five day challenge is to read braille by touch or by sight, 10 minutes a day.
Learning braille is like playing an instrument, practicing 10 minutes a day can make a big difference!
    This challenge is geared towards:
    Student Transcribers
    Parents
    TVIs
During this five day challenge, I will go over where to find affordable braille books, what features to look for in a book if you sight read braille, and links to download free braille reference sheets.
This is a free, virtual challenge and it's open to everyone to participate.

interesting, in my book if your using your sighted eyes, it is not the same as reading braile with your fingers; the hole purpose of braile is to use your fingers. Of course, I do not have a pare of sighted eyes! So try getting a sleep shades so you cant use your sighted eyes to read braille. So do it correctly, get some sleep shades and use your fingers; to hand is the correct way to read braille.

When I graduate college, I am planning to learn how to read braille by touch. There's all sorts of reasons to learn braille and time is a real factor. Sometimes transcribers, teachers or care givers who are sighted may not have the luxury of time to learn to read with their hands. It is a valuable skill and I plan to learn it in the near future. Thanks for checking out my channel and for leaving a comment!

Can Braille be written on a normal thin paper. And if we write on normal paper then, is it long lasting enough or not?

You can if you’re sight reading the braille, but I’ve been told that it’s too thin for the braille to be read by touch. Braille paper is a heavier paper than like, printer paper, so the dots are going to last longer and be the correct height.
