Interesting demo. Very useful and to the point. Here is what I learned:
The Dewalt Autoload Hog Ring Pliers ($66 on Amazon) make a larger rounder closed hog ring. Great for tomato cages and cattle fencing but not for tightly squeezed around sausage packs. Better as a looser or snug (but not tight) connector.
Manual Hog Ring Pliers ($30 with staples on Amazon) do more crimping tight rather than loose O rings. So these are better at using like a clamp.
There are also Hog Ring Guns that do what Dewalt pliers do, but much faster. You need an air compressor to power them.
Hog Rings are also known as C-rings.
The LEM tape machine is awesome.
    Thanks for a great demo!

Thank you for the information in the video. You did much better than DeWalt showing how to load their hog ring pliers. I appreciate your help.

Thank you. I have tape machine. I had hard time getting it to cut. Then my son started helping and with two people it was a good system

I didn't watch this for the meat tubes, but it still has valuable information.

Thank you for explaining how to load the Dewalt model. Packaging directions show to squeeze those two tabs together and I was about to break the thing!

I have found the tape machine to work great....sometimes. Other times just doesn't want to seal the bags and I have no idea why. I finally got frustrated and threw it in the trash. You just don't want to fiddle with picky stuff when you have 40-50 pounds of meat to grind. Found this video when searching for a better solution.
I grind/stuff/bag by myself so loading the single hog rings seems like it would be slow. With one grinding and one bagging it might be OK. Shame the DeWalt doesn't squeeze down enough.

My wife grinds and I stuff and seal. I also wish the DeWalt could squeeze tight enough to seal the bags.

The Dewalt will work fine with smaller HogRings which like staples come in a variety of sizes- you might want 3/8 rings.

I have tried and the pliers only close so far and will not lock the ring tightly around my sausage bags.

What is the best product looks like the tape is the fastest but does the hog rings keep the chub tighter?

The tape works very well with the machine. The hog rings also work very well as long as you have the right pliers. These pliers here will not squeeze the hog ring tight enough to seal the package. I have found other uses for them, like fencing and other projects.

The dewalt does not make tight enough crimps on sausage casings . I have to use pliers to make it tight

The DeWalt crimping pliers are good for things like mending a fence but they are not good for crimping casings. I purchased the hog ring pliers for that.

These are opened at 11/16 which is almost 3/4 and they close to a 9/32 when clapped.
