In this episode I revisit a purchase I made back last year, already over 6 months ago!
    0:00 - Intro
    1:15 - So after 6 months?
2:29 - Sleep Problems have Improved
    3:50 - Conclusion
This mattress is 100% wool filling and the fabric is 51% cotton and 49% linen, three simple ingredients that help towards having a better and safer sleep. It turns out to be the cheapest of the alternative mattresses that I could find.
The mattress itself cost me £350 and another £80 for standard delivery from Bulgaria.
I also (because the mattress was expensive) sought after a cheap and easy solution for keeping an air gap under the mattress, not being a handy man I found a cheap fix from Ikea.
After using it for six months the bed does provide me with a better healthy sleep and in the process I'm doing my bit for the environment as well.
I review briefly how I benefit with having this mattress including an unexpected side affect.
Will you consider one now? Let me know in the comments.

That same upholstery on pocket springs would've been glorious. The individual springs would've conformed to your body so you wouldn't need to use a pillow under your back.

We purchased a king sz and we HAAAATE it. It's extremely hard because it's so compact. (Wool). No springs equals no lift or that cloud like feeling. We added toppers to try and make it softer, and $1500 later on top of the $4500 for the mattress, and it's still HARD. Not firm, but HARD. Like sleeping on a carpeted floor. Our mattress is also on a bed, not directly on the floor. We have tried everything and because we can't return it, (policy), we unfortunately will be tossing it away and getting a mattress with springs. I was really hoping to love it, but it was just far too HARD, (in case I didn't mention that). Hips, lower back, lower neck, all suffer on a wool mattress. Sometimes if I lay on my belly, even my ribs hurt. I need a cloud. I can't do this option, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like firm mattresses and anyone who is a side or belly sleeper. Oh, and it gets lumps because my husband is 220lbs and I'm 125lbs. This created lumps and bumps even with rotating every 4 days. Yes, 4 days. It's bad. It's really really bad. Maybe it's the king size that has these issues as well.
Great video, but definitely not the same in a king.

Is this from the came company? Mine is nothing like this even after 3.5 years of use now. I still enjoy sleeping on it and nobody who has tried it would say it's hard.
Never sleep on your belly by the way, your ribs are being compressed regardless of mattress though maybe more with this one you're having problems with.
Sorry you're having this experience. Hopefully you could sell it? Are you keeping the toppers?

@@JonathanJK Thanks for all the advice. We purchased from Home of Wool, and we custom made it with a zipper that attaches in the center of the king allowing us to be able to make two twins if we choose to in the future. I can't say this was the companies fault or the wool mattress itself, it's simply not good for us as side sleepers. When sleeping on my belly I tend to be elevated by my pillows, but you're right that it's not good for the body. It's a bad habit to break.
It's definitely a gorgeous mattress and I loved everything organic about it. If they made this very mattress with connected springs, (individual ones eventually get all tangled. Been there too), I think it would be perfect for us. But I can't find that anywhere. 😅 Our son loves hard mattresses because he says it helps with his back. Seems funny because it hurts mine. Ultimately, a wool mattress is really a great option for many who don't like to feel their partner moving, temp control, mites and critter control, and everything you mentioned, but keeping in mind of the firmness.
Stay safe and thanks for the great vid.
Oh, and yes, we love the fully wool toppers and pillows. Husband says maybe putting it in the guest room but I'd feel bad about our guest sleeping on such firm surface. We shall see.

@@flacadiabla3193 Avocado mattress has a wool mattress with springs. I chose not to go with them despite the more conventional styling because they don't make the springs in house and those springs come covered in plastic and I can't stand knowing their is polyester inside the mattress, even if the rest of it is all chemical free wool and whatnot.

Sorry to hear this. I had a problem with stiffness and my shoulders hurt, but I managed to solve it. If you haven't sold it, you can try it.
A year and a half ago I made my own wool mattress and fell in love with it, but I started to feel it was hard and my shoulders hurt. I love the feel of the wool so much already and didn't want to replace the wool mattress but I don't have time to redo it (I made mine myself too) and I made 3 for my cousin too. She has noticed that the mattress that is surrounded on all sides with boards does not deform (split) and seems to be softer than the one that is not surrounded. So I bought some boards and upgraded my bed, now the mattress is surrounded on each side and it has really become softer. I don't have shoulder problem anymore. Maybe this type of mattress should have lateral support so that they don't destruct and stay more shaped and, accordingly, softer. Or it just happened that way for me, I still decided to share my experience ❤️

I get the bed professionally cleaned once a year. I thought I could take it outside but I can't be bothered taking it up 3 flights of stairs to the roof top.
The thing underneath are slats. I use specially varnished crate boxes now.
I don't know what a shikibuton is without googling it. Should I?

Trying to figure all this out as a lot. The futon that I got is way too heavy. I think it weighs more than me or at least as much as I do? and I want to get something lighter. I've not heard about getting them professionally cleaned? You must have found a local company?
