I really enjoyed the technical explanations. I'm only trying to quiet transmission between my home and my basement, but I also need to save space, so double framing was stressing me out. I'll try these, in place of RC1 and RC2.
Make sure your drywall screws only go into the furring strips. With only 3/16 between the furring and framing, you don't want your drywall screw to go through the furing strip and accidentally contact a stud or joist. I didn't see that explicitly addressed in their installation instructions or covered in this video. 1 5/8 drywall screws and larger would be a concern for the first layer of drywall. 1 3/8 is safe.
You guys just kind of casually mentioned a HUGE piece of information that I think needs clarification!! So, regular non-faced fiberglass insulation actually works BETTER in wall cavities than mineral wool. I get it, I think...looser versus tighter fibers for absorption of bouncing sound waves. Now, what about acoustic panels for sound treatment? My understanding is mineral wool is better, along with equal space behind the panels, for absorption. Generally, the thicker the mineral wool (with equal space behind the panels), the higher absorption of lower frequencies. So, for my DIY acoustic panels: just go with fiberglass or spend the extra $ and go for mineral wool?
The AI captions are nothing but distracting at best (especially with the typos right off the bat, which I'm assuming you noticed, but went ahead w them anyway)... sigh.
I like the word- follow feature of the closed captioning! It's like the word- follow video books that I learned to read with after several brain surgeries. Please keep this Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant feature, but offer an out for those who don't benefit from it.
Now that’s a revolutionary product that I can see making my next studio actually doable!. Thanks for sharing as usual.
Decouple; add soft mass.

This is only a concern for perpendicular furring patterns. It's a non issue for parallel furring patterns.
any plans to distribute those in Europe?

Don't put fiberglass in there. Go denim.
The captions are super distracting
Agreed
Triple agree. Was looking forward to watching this but captions were really intrusive.

Completely agree! At the very least, turn off the word follow feature. It isn’t time correctly and is irritating.

Does the timing work for you? It seems too late for me as I’m scanning ahead to match the audio.
