- In today's video, I share my 3rd-grade classroom setup for days 1 and 2! It feels so good to finally be in my classroom, which I have dreamed about for many years. I’m Going Back to college this year and I’m really excited i started September 5 and I’m still Learning how to drive from driving school and I’m really excited I’m taking business classes this year but i want to take teaching education next year so I’m so excited ☺️❤️😊

looks great! Series ofunfortunate events is great for 3rd and up! I would make sure your district hasn't banned Harry Potter before putting it out. Some schools are picky about it.
Yes! I’m going to have to go through my entire collection of books I believe because I’m here in Florida. I’m sure once I complete my onboarding/ in service I will learn more about the whole book situation here also thank you for looking out! 💜
Your closet is AWESOME!! I have taught 30+ years, and I have never had a closet that big before!! One word of advice, get rid of the college stuff! Especially any materials not aligned with Science of Reading. I hope you have a great year!

Have you thought of putting your white library shelf angled in the corner and then the dark shelves 1 on each side? It gives the feeling of pulling them in to read a good book and doesn’t look like it would take up any more space than you are using already
I like that idea a lot! I will have to try that out. Im currently working on my books bins so library right now or a focus 💜
Last year our school was having trouble keeping series of unfortunate events on the shelf bc kids in 3rd and 4th were all reading them and talking about them.

When I was in elementary school in the 1970s I remember forgetting my spelling book three days in my locker and the teacher caught me and took me to the hallway and I got paddled in the third grade.😅😊
Oh my goodness! I can see that being a bit traumatizing for a 3rd grader!

Love your classroom so far! That closet is a dream! Is the white board easel upside down? I think the bottom ledge is for markers. Just a thought! Hope you have a good 1st year!

You can always keep your water packs under your counter by your drawer cart. I don't recommend you storing qater bottles there.
That’s a great idea! I was considering getting a basket to store my water bottles to slide under the counter to have next the cart. So it looks appealing to the eye but functional 💜
Do the students learn cursive in 3rd? Just wondered about the primary alphabet cards.
No they do not! We used to but they stopped here in Florida a long time ago!
Question for americans: with the class library do students borrow the books and read them at home and school until they finish or do they stay in the class for designated reading times?
They stay in the class for designated reading times. We have to provide the books in our library which is why. But we have a big school library where the kids can check out books to take home!
I have that same bundle from TPT. Dismissal is part of the schedule. Maybe you didn’t print it out?

How did you get so many books and things for your first year? Your kids are lucky!
I worked my entire time through college and slowly started collecting things! I also am a first time college graduate in my family, so I had a lot of donations from friends and family! I highly recommend sharing your registry on Facebook because I had people donate that I never thought would. People really love supporting educators and new educators!

I started collecting books during my 2nd year in college and went to the Goodwill bookstore often. I also had a lot of donations from my teacher registry from friends and family! I worked my entire time through college which also helped with the expense. 💜
@@Mrs.W22 I am a first year teacher this year as well and I wish I started collecting books. I started but I am no where near where you are! Your library is great! Also your closet is amazing my classroom has little storage you got so lucky!
@@beekindandcraftwithbrenda7999 I really am so grateful for the space I have! You will eventually get there with your library! It just takes time and when you slowly gather more books maybe you could do a section called "new to the shelf" so your kiddos get to be a part of the process too! 💜 I hope you have the best first year!
