I just went to a brick and morter for winter gloves. I am still riding with a pair that are 24 years old. They no longer are water proof and the pointer finger gets cold in both gloves. They had nothing that had a gauntlet that would except a jacket with that pull bungee at the back. I didn't even want heated gloves, just a nice pair of winter gloves with a gauntlet. I own 4 other pairs that are inexpensive and good for 30 to 40 minute rides, but nothing for the long ride. You guys keep doing videos with electric vests and gloves and it looks interesting as I age. Thanks for the review.😊
Some of my mates came out to play in the snow wi socks over their hands. Was better than having nothin lol. When we got cold enough we'd crowd round one of the new central heating flues sticking oot of a wall that council installed in every house. Loads of kids with their faces crammed into the current of warm air oblivious to the carbon monoxide and & toxic crud spewing down our throats haha. Gud times.

I've got a pair of these, they are totally waterproof, you can submerge your hand in a bucket of water and your hand will stay dry, also they are thin enough to enable use of cameras'. I do find the palm leather material a little thin and if the grips are not heated on the bike you will feel a little cold coming through the palms but overall quite happy with them.
I have a rechargeable jacket and gloves that I bought years ago and they work well for local rides. Running errands and such they are hard to beat.👍 The technology has really come a long ways. I prefer the gloves and jacket that plug into my bikes. So I have a few wiring harnesses on the long distance bikes. It is a pain to unplug and plug every time I get off or on the bike but my rides tend to go for pretty good distance. That being said, another good thing about the rechargeable gear is that it isn't a drain on the bikes electrics. My big game changer a couple of years ago, Hippo Hands. They do kinda mess up a bike's looks but I don't care so much when it's cold or raining. Now, about those stockings... 🤣

Morning TAYM, I’ve had a pair of these for about a year, (JIA 10H), my first set of heated gloves I’ve owned. I got them whilst I was in Spain on my GS last Winter, to get me over the chilly Pyrenees 😂, because to buy them here meant that you pay the Customs Charges. Although, now there maybe dealers selling from the UK. Looks like you have an updated version of mine. I can say that the heating is very good, and also good as a normal glove and the touchscreen actually works. I can also say that they are definitely NOT waterproof, I found this out on a very wet trip up to Skye, and took days to dry out. Hopefully, your updated version are better than mine. Still worth the money though. Keep up the great videos, ride safe. Cheers Mike B.
Thanks Mike 😁 that’s really interesting because Wiltshireman has just left a comment. He has some and tested them in a bucket of water and reckons they are totally waterproof. They must have upgraded them 😁 hopefully these will be waterproof too 😁
I see the CE mark appears on the instruction manual, but have these gloves been tested to European Standard EN 13594:2015 and certified by a Europe or UK based certification body (as has been a legal requirement since 21 April 2018)? Another Chinese brand, which was also offering journalists and UA-cam influencers free gloves in return for a review, has recently had all its products delisted on the UK Amazon site and Trading Standards and the Office for Product Safety and Standards are involved, for failing to meet its legal obligations. Who contacted you to offer you the gloves?

Dunno about stockings, Taym.... Back in the days before heated gear (early '60's for me), pantyhose - tights - served as a great base-layer; they, and rugger socks, helped keep my toes a bit warmer on the bike, too! Together with a few sheets of newspaper under the jacket across the chest and silk inners in the gauntlets, they helped keep me warm(ish!) on my 150-mile round-trip commute to my military base. Only open-face helmets back then, too. Fairings were rare, reliable cars were too expensive for many, so we had to be a TAYM! Gawd, it was cold in that snow and ice! 🥶
Absolutely, I remember crying as I tried to warm my hands up in front of the gas fire when I got home from work in the evening my fingers hurt so much😂😂😂😂 thanks Chris 😁
@@TAYM Very familiar scenario, though a bowl of hot water worked better than the fire; still hurt, though. A few times I'd arrive frozen to the bike; had to be helped off it. Not at all fun. Thank goodness I don't have to ride in those conditions any more! 👍
Hello TAYM. Those Iron Jias gloves seem interesting. What is the reference number on yours as there are several different ref numbers for identical looking gloves on their website at different prices. And do they have a UK supplier?
The Keis gloves have been tested and certified to the standard for motorcyclists’ gloves - BS EN 13594:2015. It is unlikely the gloves reviewed in this video have been through the same process, even though it has been a legal requirement since April 2018. In just the last week, another Chinese company that had contracted a UK-based PR company to offer journalists and social media influencers and content creators free gloves in return for reviews, has had its products removed from the Amazon UK store, after Trading Standards and the Office for Product Safety and Standards became involved. Its gloves had not been tested and certified, and in fact the company was using a fake certificate to claim they had been! Surely, any company that not only avoids its legal responsibilities, but then uses fraudulent documentation to claim it _has_ satisfied them, deserves a wide berth?
Absolutely, but are you saying that IRON is also having its gear pulled from Amazon? As for KEIS, they are only designed in the uk. Earlier this year a number of European heated glove manufacturers had to recall their products because the heating elements were incorrectly wired. Thanks Paul 😁
It’s unlikely there is an importer or distributor in Germany, or in any other EU Member State. In all probability, the gloves are shipped direct from the manufacturer in China to the end user, avoiding the product safety compliance checks at Customs that an importer’s bulk shipments would be subjected to. Motorcycle clothing manufacturers in Pakistan do exactly the same thing. They know there are standards their products have to meet, but they have no intention of testing and certifying those products, and by shipping to individual buyers and making false declarations on the Customs forms, their non-conforming products reach the unknowing consumer!

This night riding Taym 😂 have two sets of the fly racing (had) heated: i also had a horrible experience with moblie warming stay clear of thoses 6 settings of crap the flys three settings of delight. All Jay's are iron lol. I remember ones with actual D cell batteries in them way back in the 80's
Thanks Keith 😁 I get about 3 hours on full heat 😁 that’s without charging over 3 days of commuting 😁 so I guess there will be some loss over time but they reckon 5-6 hours on the lower settings 😁 the high is really hot 😂😂
I have a pair of Keis gloves and they get so hot I cant use the highest setting, when I commuted to work at 4am in -4° they were superb and never let a drop of water in either. Mine were wired through the Keis heated jacket which was powered via the Optimate trickle charger cable so in effect direct to the battery. Perhaps ypu have a dodgy battery pack or something?
Interesting Richie, I should have sent them back straight away. I think you are right, they are a dodgy pair, at least I hope they are, for KEIS sake, otherwise it really is disappointing 😁
As far as I’m aware they do not have any sort of CE safety approval for the structure of the gloves so I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole! I have no wish to find out how strong and safe they are when I’m sliding down the road on a cold and salty road.
Another Chinese brand, similarly offering its heated motorcycle gloves to journalists and influencers in return for a review, has had those gloves delisted on the Amazon UK site after Trading Standards and the Office for Product Safety and Standards intervened because the gloves had not ben independently tested and certified. Clearly, you are aware of the legislation and standards, @timparish172, so it is regrettable that TAYM omitted any reference to the status of the gloves in his review.
Thanks Tim 😁 they have the CE mark but not a specific test number that I can see 🤔 like I said , the KEIS seem the best made but offer the lowest heat on batteries 🤔
@ The CE mark that appears on the gloves has potentially been applied fraudulently. Ask whoever supplied you with the gloves for a copy of the manufacturer’s declaration of conformity; a statutory document that must include details of the certification body that has approved the gloves, the certificate number and the standard against which the gloves have ben assessed. You can then check the database of certification bodies authorised to approve motorcyclists’ clothing to ensure the organisation involved (which can only be based in Europe) is a legitimate body.
@TAYM Wearing stockings under motorcycle jeans/trousers was a tip for winter riding given out many years ago alongside putting your feet in supermarket bags before putting your boots on to keep your feet dry. Never tried the stocking, I just resorted to the old Damert long johns!

Thanks Paul 😁 that’s why I don’t put their affiliate link in and why? If you want a discount you’ll have to find one of the other UA-camrs that are using an affiliate link. The links in my description I just through their standard website.😁
@ There’s still the issue that motorcycle gloves are, like clothing, footwear and impact protectors, required to be independently tested and certified. If the company drop-ships from China to the UK, and does not hold an EU and or UKCA type-examination certificate, it would be placing the gloves on the market in breach of the PPE Regulation. Untested, non-certified gloves from a brand with no certification and no track record for protective performance represent a risky purchase.
Morning Taym, I hope I never walk into your shop. I would walk out skint 😊 I like the USB plug in so we can plug them into a USB on the handlebars, really helpful for us forgetful types 😊 no mention of a discount code
Someone else reviewed these recently and although they may do the job, they are another piece of non safety rated Chinese crap. Textiles are not good in a glove, leather is only what I will wear. Helmets and gloves are protecting the two parts of the body that will hit the ground first.
Thanks JT 😁 funny you say that. Out of the 3 pairs, only the BARCHI are leather and they are the warmest just as a glove and middle on the heating 🤔 I also notice the KEIS only state that they are designed in the uk, which makes me wonder where they are made?
A random Chinese company you've never heard of asked you to borrow their gloves for review? I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole given they lack any form of proper CE rating 🤣 they're likely glorified ski gloves being targeted at motorcyclists (which is illegal in the UK/EU)
Not the only Chinese brand to be promoting its heated gloves at the moment. Another brand hired a UK-based PR agency to contact journalists and influencers, offering free gloves in return for a review. Those gloves have been delisted from the Amazon UK store after Trading Standards and the Office for Product Safety and Standards intervened, because the gloves had not been tested and certified as has been required by law since April 2021. I find it hard to believe TAYM is unaware of the legislation and standards, so the absence of any commentary of the status of the gloves is a regrettable omission.
OK Karen, wearing no gloves isn't illegal in the UK, it's just not advisable, also a lot of CE rated goods are of poor quality and offer little or no protection. So I guess it's down to the individual to decide if they want Safety or warmth, ideally both would be perfect.
@@michaellilley6725 it is always down to the individual to decide, but they should be presented with all the facts PRIOR to purchase so that they can make an informed decision, instead of 'influencer' waffle. In addition, the unlawful/illegal part comes down to the manufacturer/supplier. Since 2018 all goods sold in the UK/EU as PPE must meet the relevant criteria in order to be sold as such. Anything that doesn't conform is illegal. So whilst the user wouldn't be prosecuted, the manufacturer/supplier very much can be. Oh & also, before you start bashing him, Paul who has commented is literally an expert in this field - you might wanna research his name a little bit & learn something 😉
@@michaellilley6725: It is in fact illegal to sell untested, non-certified motorcycle clothing in the UK (and the EU) and this has been the case since 21 April 2018. It is not a legal requirement for motorcyclists to wear certified apparel. I was writing in respect of the first point and you answered from the perspective of the second. I am sure if you had realised this then you would not have opened with a childish insult. As for your comment regarding “a lot of CE rated goods are of poor quality and offer little or no protection”; would you care to evidence that statement with some real examples? Here are some key points you might wish to cover: how many is “a lot”, which performance classifications of which standards (there are 11 to choose from, for different products and/or performance classifications) differentiate between “acceptable’ and ‘little or no’ protection? Your closing remark is a welcome breath of maturity. Yes, both safety and warmth would be perfect; however, if the gloves are sold for use by motorcyclists there’s no “would” about it - it’s a must!

Thanks JT 😁 funny you say that. Out of the 3 pairs, only the BARCHI are leather and they are the warmest just as a glove and middle on the heating 🤔 I also notice the KEIS only state that they are designed in the uk, which makes me wonder where they are made?
👍👍🏍
Thanks Paul 😁
No RR...the shock the horror...probably new excuse as well.
Probably asleep 😁😂😂
Looking at camp equipment for moto camping nearly got everything now.I'm getting there just a couple of more things.
