Neighborhoods has aged very well
Is one of my favorites, such a mature writing
Facts I love the album
Cult classic status for sure.
That’s a fact
It's my favorite album
Hearing Mark laughing at his singing is so good lol
Ikr lol
It's like I'm his best friend laughing with him / them
I don’t know if I’ve ever heard him laugh that hard
This album keeps getting better and better with time.
I've always liked that the one guitar part in Wishing Well at 1:58 is essentially the same as the pre-chorus in The Gift, just in a different key and tempo obviously
I am happy that over the past past two years, ive seen view/stream counts jump up on the neighborhood album. It started when skiba joined, but over the last two years it jumped. I am appreciative that people are realizing it now. After all, it did chart higher than self titled, but didn’t sell as well. Tom had his surgery, which helped his singing, and he sounds really good now! Btw if you havent heard toms solo stuff look up “New World”. It is from 2015. He sings in a deeper, and sadder voice a bit in comparison to edging which came out not too long ago.
Wishing Well sounds better in that key, also better acoustic too
This was a solid record
Wow these are amazing finds
this is interesting, i didnt now the songs dated back to 2003. 'Cause when i heard neighborhoods came out ppl are hating it cause tom was using AVA style for that album turns out not
They do date back to 2003, but the style on them is AVA style. Jerry Finn made the sound of Enema of the state and TOYPAJ. He passed away before Neighborhoods and couldn't influence or direct the sound to what it should of sounded like back in 2003.
@@AlgaeEater09One More Time perfectly blended everything the band has done into one cohesive album and you can feel the unity on every song
Tom seems so dorky in the wishing well clip
Wishing well is my favorite song from the album
Listened to this album last week on a long car ride and have to say this album is sooo underrated. Love it 🔥
they really did pick up right where they left off. amazing!
We need an acoustic version of Wishing Well

The up all night guitar riff was written in 2003* not 2004. 2004 was a typo.

TIMESTAMPS:
00:00 - up all night guitar riff
00:09 - up all night demo
00:24 - ghost on the dance floor live
00:44 - ghost on the dance floor drum recording
00:57 - MH.18.2011 vocal recording
01:44 - wishing well guitar riff recording
Where did you get the up all night demo snippet from. Is it on UA-cam by itself.
wishing well is so good
Mark is so funny aha
check your dates... "up all night guitar riff" was early 2003.
Yes I know it was a typo and I didn't realize
At the 9 second mark the bass line for the demo of up all night which wasnt used Tom took from Mark and used it in the Angels and Airwaves song Inertia off of the Love pt. 2 album.
I spoke with mark about this particular demo (0:10) he said he had no clue about it he thought it might’ve been a AvA demo.
Kaleidoscope
I was at that Manchester MEN show at 0:26
There’s a part of the AVA “Start the Machine” dvd where Tom plays the verse riff for “Even if She Falls”. Right at 11.08 while he’s writing the riff for “Start the Machine” -> ua-cam.com/video/kVLytKp_Uj0/v-deo.html
HOLY FUCK YOURE RIGHT!! That's sick dude I never realized that!
2:03 sounds like hook from "The Gift"
“My name is meep-“
The best album, got this a&a vibe. I stoped listen blink afterr tom left
He's back
It took them like 8 years to make neighbourhoods from their self titled album
Well I mean they were broken up for all of those years 🤷
@@Jaxon_69 they had a 4 year hiatus actually 2005-2009
@@saffronthurkettle6795 so during that time it's not like they were working on the record lol. Plus I mean when they got back they toured before neighborhoods came out
@@Jaxon_69 I was referring to the gap between the album you clearly didn’t read my comment properly
@@saffronthurkettle6795 sorry I just didn't understand.

0:25 where did you find this?
Unreleased untitled tour documentary
Mark cracking up is hilarious. That track sounds horrible 😅😂
Ghost on the dance floor, sound like a song boxcar racer played live. I think it was called SONG ABOUT SEX or DANCE WITH ME. something like that.
ua-cam.com/video/g8jX-YXN-Vs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JustCallMeSteTV
A lot of people like to think this but it's not the same tempo or the same strumming pattern at all. The songs are in the same key I'll give you that, but it's not the same at all. It's 100% gotdf and not dance with me. I love box car racer but Tom would not be playing a box car racer song live when mark was around in 2004-2005.
@@Jaxon_69 All of those ("Dance With Me", the soundcheck riff, "Ghost On The Dancefloor") are just slightly different variations of the same riff. There's no right or wrong answer.
"Dance With Me" - The key of the song/riff is A Major. Strumming pattern is more legato and rings out.
Soundcheck Riff - The key of the song/riff is still A Major. Strumming pattern is changed to be more staccato and choppy.
"Ghost On The Dancefloor" - Strumming pattern is more staccato and choppy exactly like the soundcheck riff, but the key of the song/riff is transposed up one full step to B Major.
So the riff is essentially the same in all three instances, just changed slightly over time. Tom most likely wrote it for "Dance With Me" but since it was never released, he kept playing it at soundchecks and then eventually found a home for it (in a different key) in "Ghost On The Dancefloor".
@@markbradshaw7282 I can see dance with me evolving into gotdf
@@Jaxon_69 that is the point lol. And im a musicien lol
@@markbradshaw7282 yup same stuff, différent key!!
0:25 is this Terrifed?
no
Back when Travis could still play the drums 💔
Do you mean his drumming in "Edging"? I still think they saved the better songs for the album but who knows.
Lol wat? Travis is one of the greatest drummers out there. What makes you think he can’t play the drums anymore?
I think MTYK has proved he still can. I mean tbf I never thought he couldn't drum
