Just like Napoleon said "If we take Smolensk, we grab Russia by its legs. If we take Petersburg, we grab it by its throat. And if we take Moscow, we'll grab it by the heart". But what he didn't know that the heart of Russia(or any country) lies through its people, the army itself. Also I think that the heart of any nation or country is not their capital, but their people. Because think about it: how many times have the capitals of many country been burned, destroyed and so on? It makes sense, doesn't it?
First off, wonderful video. I learned more about European history from watching Hetalia than I had ever bothered to learn in my whole life. Secondly, is that Yao and Ivan I see in 1:33.;)
This was amazing. I like how you lightened everything up with the end facts. But the drawings were incredible mixed in with the music. Hetalia is fun to watch. It can be sad, angsty, or downright hilarious... and it's good at getting people interested. You wouldn't rely on it to write an essay.
This was really awesome! A~ah, you should think people had enough sense not to invade Ivan. It always backfires, one way or another. If it's not snow, it's fire. Great job putting this together!
(this is the continuation of the comment, which can be seen a down this message) Your work is very detailed and the whole effort you put into this video can be seen from the first glance. This is an amazing work and I love you for doing it. Thank you.
Wow. Just wow. I love France's expression at 3:04. I don't know why, but out of character is awesome for him :D Great, great great! It's absolutely beautiful!
Красиво сделано ^г^ - Скажи-ка, дядя, ведь не даром Москва, спаленная пожаром, Французу отдана? Ведь были ж схватки боевые, Да, говорят, еще какие! Недаром помнит вся Россия Про день Бородина!
That was too epic for words, I love you drew France! Scratch that, I love how you portray all the characters. The pictures convey alot of raw emotion and they're beautiful! :D
XDD This is my first time commenting on youtube because I refrain from commenting. But oh god, seriously, this video is made of pure awesomeness. I especially love the depiction of Ivan and Francis in their clothing at the end. : D
Wow! That was really good! Made me feel like I was watching a trailer for an epic movie!! Hmm... I consider 1812 to be the year of fire... Though, i cant' remember, the whitehouse got burned too that year right? Hmm or was it the year after... Sigh, not the best at history! Don't kille me for it!! *hides* But I do remember Napoleon! Woo, was he ambitious! But Russia is to smart for him!! ^_^
2:30 - 3:02 is definitely the most epic part. I can just see the Russians torching their homes unseen while the French are milling about confusedly and attempting unsuccessfully to put the fires out. Hoorah my fellow comrades. You're sacrifice has not been forgotten. Ни шагу назад, товарищи.
People at the livejournal community already bombarded you with comments, so I guess I'll say it here. I love Ivan being nice (I mean, he IS in truth nice, but only to his own people), I love Ivan actually ACTING like he actually is and not like everyone sees him (= pretty one-sided). The art was also amazing, I loved especially how Francis came on with his army and his horse from the distance. (I almost reached the limit on symbols, so I just'll continue in the other comment)
Wow this is amazing o__o It's like so epic! # 1 mistake of people trying to conquer the world (or Europe at least) always seems to be invading Russia XD It never goes well for them.
Video perfectly conveys the atmosphere of this war. Looking at the defeat of France, could not help smiling. Looking at the smiling Russia evoking small children, smiling himself. When you look at the faces of Russian soldiers - the skin shivers run. Excellent fearless men and cute and brave girl. Sorry for my stupid english xD
GWAH! who knew that fencis could look so awesome when serious! really now if onky history was this easy in school i'd be acing it all the time. Now there's english.....
Can someone tell me what music is used in this video? I love the music in the beginning and throughout the thing, sends shivers down my spine...! It just fits so well! Oh, and this video was awesome, by the way - can't believe I forgot to say that - such gorgeous art work and really fascinating historical event! :D Loved it!!
Woah... I haven't even *read* Hetalia, and that was incredibly moving. All those thoughts of his city, and the necessity of killing it so the people in it might live... (I'm sorry, it's like four a.m., I'm not making any sense...)
@Chiikiyo I actually had to watch a movie about Napoleon yesterday for my class; around this time Napoleon had started to kinda turn into a megalomaniac but also he needed supplies because of the British blockade...plus the Russians didn't fight how the French had hoped for, the further the French advanced, the more the cossaks would shoot and burn down all the towns they French would pass through. In the end they got the asses kicked, had some canibalism and ran home in defeat.
was expecting the '1812 Overture' thing. This nice too ^-^ (got anything that Is to that song though?) Funny thing, the '1812 Overture' is in fact MUCH longer than the bit used in V for Vendetta btw. Even fit in the YT time limit?? (LoLz) 'Later!
THE THEME! It's from Blood +! I recognized it! Mwahahaha. France is so cool in this one! (mental squee). And Russia is so angsty. This. is how history should be taught in class!
I knew there was something familiar about the music~ Is it from Blood+ on Diva's song? :3 And really, I just love Ivan and his expressions. This is a great vid.

That moment when you realize...if Hetalia wasn't a comedy...it would be the saddest shit ever o.o*
First off, wonderful video. I learned more about European history from watching Hetalia than I had ever bothered to learn in my whole life.
Secondly, is that Yao and Ivan I see in 1:33.;)
"Скажи-ка дядя, ведь недаром Москва, спаленная пожаром, французам отдана..."

Hetalia is fun to watch. It can be sad, angsty, or downright hilarious... and it's good at getting people interested. You wouldn't rely on it to write an essay.
I have fallen in love with this movie!!!
thank you so much for making it!! ^^
This. This kind of stuff is the reason Hetalia has the best fandom ever.
Really wonderful job you did here!!
Oh my god. First the music, then the art, and the black and white fire. The lighting was perfect and just, just ...wow.
This is simply awesome. Wonderfully chosen music, combined with great pictures and historical facts. A big plus.
This was really awesome! A~ah, you should think people had enough sense not to invade Ivan. It always backfires, one way or another. If it's not snow, it's fire.

Красиво сделано ^г^

Ведь были ж схватки боевые,

Про день Бородина!
Блин, аж гордость берет!
Wao, omg! That felt so epic! The song and the pics are awesomely synchronized! I want more!

whoooa so awesome @__@ the music works so well and your art is great! i liked how they looked in their contemporary (1812) clothes
That was too epic for words, I love you drew France! Scratch that, I love how you portray all the characters. The pictures convey alot of raw emotion and they're beautiful! :D
Great video. Fascinates. Looking at the faces of the Russian soldier, I admire my country.
wow!! really loved it!! great job!! loved serious francias and the music so fitting!!
Франция был не один.
Они, цивилизаторы, к нам вообще всегда дружной компанией припирались.
Так не доставайся ж ты никому! (С.)
What a marvelous video!!! No history book can compare to what I have just witnessed!!!
Wow...I'm really impressed. The drawings were amazing and the music was just--wow! XD I loved it.

Yes. It's one of the OST/themes from the anime Blood +. It's called Saya's battle, or grand theme or something like that.

OH MY GAW.
This was so moving! I remember reading about this some time ago.
This is DEF. going on my favorites!
EPIC. EPIC. EPIC.
I would just love to see this as a movie. The false ending (with Russia smiling) was awesome. I am shivering just thinking about it!
I love this story! So glad you made this :)

Even when Russia's being awsome he's creepy. This ranks high on my list of favorite dramatized history.
блин, просто великолепно! до безумия просто понравилось!

Amazing video! I really like how you did something outside of the world wars. Especially something that involves Russia being badass.
Спасибо, это прекрасно
EPIC!!! I hold my breath almost for the whole vid I mean really omg O______o
Ivan I love you *w*
Oooh, extra facts~
It's always good to hv extra facts -- thx for sharing!
Whoa...just whoa. This was incredibly amazing!
The history major in me is pleased. I wholely approve ^-^ well done
see francis? this is what happens when you try and mess with ivan
Most epic APH MAD I've seen...
People at the livejournal community already bombarded you with comments, so I guess I'll say it here.

I love that strategy. Using your own HQ as a trap is smart idea and saves a lot of time compared to taking the enemy head on.
I've never seen Francis's face that epic before.
ah... giving me chills even after watching it about ten times XD
This deserves more views.
This is epic in the original sense of the word.
@northatlanticjewel and then we have the "1812 Overture" wonderful piece of music
Wow this is amazing o__o It's like so epic! # 1 mistake of people trying to conquer the world (or Europe at least) always seems to be invading Russia XD It never goes well for them.
This is just sooo fu*king beautiful!! (please don't mind the language >.< ) I really really loved it, I really did *-* please make mooooore!
...this made me cry...
Yes, I know that, but I'm learning about this subject in History. Moscow WAS the city that was burned.
There is so much epic in this it isn't even funny.
Fucking fantastic on so many levels.
And now I've learned something.
This was AWESOME.
Was it just me or is China really in there for a few second? Around 1:33 ' ~ ^
it really is the best hetalia video ^^
wow... just.. wow... O.O To make this amazing and dramatic video only using pictures, you gotta have talent.. o.o
So awesome.
GWAH! who knew that fencis could look so awesome when serious! really now if onky history was this easy in school i'd be acing it all the time.
Now there's english.....
Красиво, а что некоторый анахронизм со звёздами, так эпичней.
Oh~ You should draw them in their 1812 and color it~ I'd love to see that
Can someone tell me what music is used in this video? I love the music in the beginning and throughout the thing, sends shivers down my spine...! It just fits so well!

THE THEME! It's from Blood +!
I recognized it! Mwahahaha.
France is so cool in this one! (mental squee). And Russia is so angsty.
This. is how history should be taught in class!
Of course the Russian! This is an important event in our history. Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten!
I knew there was something familiar about the music~ Is it from Blood+ on Diva's song? :3
And really, I just love Ivan and his expressions. This is a great vid.
All i can say is...God I love you Russia
