I was skeptical about purchasing from this seller at first, but I purchased it anyway. The seller was very helpful and he provided detailed instructions on how to replace the HDD. It was very easy to install.
I don't know really, my music worked. You can ask the company I used that delivered a new hard drive for me. See the contacts in description, they are very responsive.

Did you do anything like disconnecting battery? I bought my LS with this issue but I'm reading it could happen if you disconnect the battery at wrong time (when it's loading).

Then I changed the car battery, and when I installed a new battery, the screen just showed the message "unable to read ... contact a dealer".. i assumed hdd crashed. I.m reluctant to buy a used nav system, fearing a 15 year old system could die anytime. Looks like same hdd and head unit was used in ls460 2007-2009.
