Carla is Stan's ex (shown in flashbacks in "Boyz Crazy" & "Dreamscaperers"). And also, some people were theorizing that Gideon's mother (always cleaning and being fidgety) is Carla under some form of control by either Bill or Gideon.

I'd like to think that these tv commercials some way represent nowaday social medias. They secretly collect user information and slap into your face with what you want most. Of course, the commercials being convenient in this show is also just a funny, cliché part of the story but since Gravity Falls is full of mystery, there is always room for creepy medias collecting your information in silence
