Inflation was caused by the 8 trillion dollars Trump added to the economy. That was earned by his tax cuts. And that 8 trillion that was thrown around as free covid money is why you have inflation. Every country that did this is paying for it now by high inflation. Money that wasn’t earned. Economics class 101.

Government spending AND borrowing has been propping up the " false " american economy for more yrs than what we know. I'm in my 60's and I would believe at least more than half my life. But try to find an honest answer from anyone in Washington.

Throughout my whole life Steve Forbes has taught me more about the economy than anybody else! Steve is highly intelligent but he's also a great communicator. Steve has a way of speaking about money that is easy to understand right from the start. I was all ready to vote for him and his flat tax in 1996!

Steve Forbes has always appeared to me, to be a very level-headed, honest man, with REAL CONCERNS about our “run away spending”. I have his recent book, but i am sorry to say, have not read it yet. During the Great Depression they started the Farm Bank. Prices were depressed and so the government actually paid farmers not to plant. My two grand grandfathers, one a staunch Democrat my grandmother's dad and my dad's dad , Dave, a Rep. Grandma's dad come up to my other grandfather and said, Dave you need to get some of this Free money the government is giving farmers to put your land in the bank. You had to put it in there for a minimum of 7 years. Dave looked at him and said he'd get along one way or the other and passed. Well naturally the prices eventually started to rise due to the fewer crops being raised. It wasn't long before Dave was making more money than my other grandfather. My dad said he came by one day mad because he couldn't plant and make the money like Dave. My dad said Dave just looked at him and told him, A long time ago I told you that if you're going to ride the train sooner or later you're going to have to buy that ticket. Just like now, sooner or later we're going to have to buy that ticket.
When and how much is still undecided. He was no different than a lot of Dem today always looking for a hand out from the government.

This is a formula that is used across the globe. In order to compare global ecomomies tha math has to be consistent. Government spending has been used in GDP calculations since 1934. They were not complaining about the math when it benefits them.
