I’ve been a buyer of LEGO since around the time the Star Wars license was acquired. I grew up on LEGO of course but then grew out of it. When my son came around in early 2000s he became obsessed with LEGO, which of course reignited my passion. When he hit about 12, I was heartbroken when he wasn’t interested in LEGO’s anymore. That didn’t stop me from buying and collecting them. In the last year or two I’ve sold a set here and there and made a great profit. Now I’m at the point where I’m buying sets for just my collection, and sets to invest in. I recently bought a few extra Gingerbread Houses, some retiring Harry Potter, modulars, and other retiring sets. Thank you for continuing to educate the masses on investing and selling LEGO.
What I like about you is you tackle the financial part well. Being a financial nerd, I like what you said about credit cards and budgeting. I see people can rack a ton of credit card debt with low returns if they are not careful. Always set a budget before doing anything else. Can you talk about tax exemption? Kinda my kryptonite right now. I only sell mostly on eBay. No Amazon.
i've been making good cash with lego since 2014. Like for exemple. i've bough two 21137 which are wortth 1500US++++ now, it's like 600% ROI. I've bought many architecture whiich gave me a 600-700% ROI on some
We have the winter bakery as a regular seasonal set - we only bring it out for christmas then it goes away. Sounds like it’d be worth maybe selling that (even opened/used) and we could swap with a more recent christmas set (Gingerbread house, santas visit) and still have some spare cash?
yeah you sure could! The Winter Bakery sold recently for $315 in used condition. You could grab a Gingerbread House, Elf's Clubhouse, and Santa's Visit all with the proceeds 😂
Thanks, some really helpful tips there! Hopefully you’ll get to 10k subs soon. I thought you were going to talk about the Gingerbread house set as I released a video on my channel about that set recently, I’m fairly new to Lego investing though! 👍🏻

Exactly the same story with me. So many dads must go through the same.
Don’t forget to pack extra good. With so many extra packages going through the system many get stacked and stacked and really roughed up.
Box in a box in a box! For sales over 300!
Great video Shane. Every newbie should watch but also a lot of great reminders for veterans of reselling!
