I think he was diplomatic- he wanted to smile and laugh...tell me you didn't attempt to make such a comparison. Zidane is grace and elegance on the ball, the kind of player to bring new fans to football. Bellingham is raw strength, power and intelligence. They are not comparable. Different skill sets and different players. Bellingham is like a better version of Steven Gerrard.
I think the comparison was more so the movement and frame of Bellingham is similar to zizou, not the talent

The difference between Rashford and Mbappe. Mbappe grew up in 2 parent family of athletes that supported and guided him, on how best navigate his sporting career- based on their experiences of the sporting world. Rashford did have an assured and as supportive upbringing- his therefore somewhat erratic in his performances, some seasons good other seasons questionable. Bellingham grew up in supportive 2 parent family. Although supportive they were still disciplined by their parents. Whereas Rashford is undisciplined in his focus to his career, where does this come from the single mother parent upbringing he had. If Rashford had Sir Alex Fergerson as a coach he may have been a lot more focused and achieved his earlier promising potential. People forget the early days when it seemed like every time Rashford was subbed into a game he made an impact. Players require a supportive but also disciplinarian family network behind them.

Bellingham's style of expression is very different from Zizzou, Zidane played with a kind of indescribable balletic poetry of motion. However, as far as being a midfield general, I think Bell already is one. Physically he has many years to go before he hits his peak and he's already excellent, mentally, he's already super sharp and will only grow with time, he will likely go down as one of the legends of this game.
