Passat makes sense around 28-30 Lac, 40 Lac is just too much for a car that feels outdated. Imagine if this was $60000 in USA

Your point actually makes little to no sense. The PPP of the two countries are different, you can compare the pure numbers of prices but you fail to counter in the other factors involved. (For example, a Mustang is USA costs 1/3rd of the Average income of USA, still you don't see every American driving a Mustang.)
I lease a passat for 14000 rupees a month 269 USA dollars and paid 0 down lol it’s so cheap in America
The Crisp door closing reminded me of the 80s German Detective Series ," Der Alte( The Old Fox)" and "Derrick". The car doors in those series had the same tone.

6:39 one toggle between for ride quality altering driving modes. 1. Normal mode: Steering, DSG & Suspension on normal mode
2. Comfort mode: Steering & DSG is in normal mode(suitable for city) but suspension is in comfort thus absorbs uneven surfaces(due to eletronic dampners)
3. Eco mode: Steering & Suspenion normal mode but DSG is E=Eco mode where it prepones upshits thus more F.E
4. Sport Mode: Steering(weighted feel), DSG Sports mode postponing upshift & preponing downshift, Suspension in sports mode (feels stiff yet suits spirited driving)
5. Customi mode: Driver can configure his choice of combbination of Steering, DSG & Suspension
And missed highlights are worth highlighting are :-
1.The Passat segment exclusive(Superb) & infact C class, 3 series, A4, XE also doesnt come with The Electronic Dampners( there is a consederable amount of diff between (Normal, Comfort & Sport mode)
2. 360 degree areaview cameras
3. Extended cushion to improvise the driver seat under thigh support
4. Dynamic cornering LED projector headlights with washers
5. Passat features a Hill Hold assist a driving aid feature unlike the conventional Hill start
6.Launch control( >Turn ESC off>driving mode in Sports mode left foot on break & right foot on acce;erator pedal until inst cluster promts launch active & set off you'll be amazed the car moves
7. Fatigue alert or attention assist
8. Aspherical ORVMs with memory function, auto kerb view while reversing, auto dimming

And the much needed ‘heated seats’ instead of cooled seats.because India is so cool..

Hey hie this is mainly due to the apollo tyres they offer. Switch to Yokohama and the thuds are almost gone. I am using the same gen passat.

@@Dashamuulam Volkswagen is not even recommended by Europeans now. Imagine how unreliable the Indian Spec can be. VW has the worst mileage, worst cosmetics and worst engine noise.
@@Dashamuulam Mahindra and Tata now have better options and price tags compared to VW or Skoda. People who don't know anything about cars and just want to buy a car for fun they go for VE or Skoda.
@@Dashamuulam I would in fact recommend Jeep ot Renault over VE or Skoda. Even though I am not a fan of diesel vehicles, but those 2 companies have the best engines

Other markets in the world have a Passat Variant R-Line estate wagon with 240 HP twin turbo diesel engine
If this was a rear wheel drive sedan, I think it can fulfill the dreams of guys who long for rwd sedans in mid range price. At least they should offer it in top end variant.

Passat is considered as an economy midsize sedan in United States and its also 50% cheaper than what it costs in India
USA spec is 20 years old on the inside lol. Its an outdated engine and correct me if i'm wrong it gets and 8 speed Japanese transmission which is shit. This is MQB platform, latest VW engine and German DSG. You get what you pay for.
The 2020 VW Passat in US has DSG gearbox which is used in majority of VW and Audi products here and it costs $30,000 and has many more features as standard which is not even available in India such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams and heated as well as ventilated seats. It has a 2.0 turbo charged petrol engine.
Only passionate owner will buy one of these while rest of them spend their money on badges and reputation

This is so underrated sedan at this price bracket including skoda superb and same price suvs which are really underrated are mahindra alturas and skoda kodiaq I hope people change their mind and move to any of these which are awesome vehicles !

It's the most understated car in India. We Indians want Benz,BMW,Audi logos to flaunt and won't settle for VW logo even if Passat have 5 more features than A4. About its understated looks, that's actually its beauty.
I own Passat and in love with it.
I have the passat since last 18 months ..actually my long drives have increased because of wanting to drive this car ...and the broom sound ..its a fantastic car with a tank like solidity..feel somewhat cheated by Volkswagen as I paid more for the car as it got a 4 lakh price cut recently

VW reduce your maintenance cost it's 15k for small cars and car like Passat and tiguan it's around 55k
German cars expensive to maintain
They're built like a tank, can last for atleast a generation or two if maintained well. So that premium is worth it imo

Passat doesn't have cooled seats like superb or camry rather it has heated seats which is not as much use in India.
