They did an amazing job on the DSP emulation. The SH-01A also has a bunch of features that weren't on the original SH-101, including 4-voice polyphony (which also supports 4-voice unison!), patch and sequence memory, faster LFO (extending into audio range), and lower oscillator range (32' and 64'). The only thing it's missing is CV/gate input (it has CV/gate outputs but they omitted the inputs)…well, that and the keytar grip.
Great set man, wonderful job demonstrating how these modules can sound when synced in a simple yet intricate way. You showed how these modules can be used with out it being overbearing and chaotic. Well done! 👏🏽
Hi Gattobus, thanks for this epic jam, dude. Thank you too for your instruction videos on the Korg MS-20. It taught me a thing or two on my beloved MS-20 aka the growler.
They sure don't play like toys! ...kinda small for my paws though, sadly :[

COuld you maybe explain how you did the bass drone in the beginning? Is it with a built-in sequencer? Did you also use the keyboard underneath? ^^ I'm curious, sounds great! :)
Bardàn Irving Yes I used the built in sequencer. It is a simple note progression with tuned xmod on the filter cutoff, and a bit of feedback on it. SE02 sounds great!
Bravo, the toys speak. I have been waiting for someone to rack a dozen of these boxes together. It's like Propellerhead Reason in hardware form. I can see where it would be a lot of fun.
Definitely loving the demo! If you don't already have a Bandcamp page setup you definitely should- this is a track I'd love to take to work with me! ;-) You're definitely putting those Boutiques to good use! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!
Yep. I bought a TB-03 just for fun and didn't plan to get any of the other ones, but now I have four (also bought the SH-01A, TR-08, and TR-09). Trying to stop there but I'm also tempted by the D-05 and SE-02. I also bought a System-8 to get the Jupiter-8, Juno-106, and JX-3P with full voice counts and proper controls. Help!
this might be the best sounding boutique demo out there, the SH and SE are prob the better ones, if Roland would reissue these at full scale with analog they would triumphantly return to their glory days .
Every time I try to play my SH-01a and introduce my TR-08 track, it doesn't sync with what I am playing on the SH-01a. I have the MIDI set as the TR-08 being the Master.
The USB connection provides power, two-way MIDI, and audio. All of the boutiques automatically sync to MIDI clock by default. You can use one of them as the master, or sync them all to a DAW (or anything else that sends MIDI clock).
nice sound here!. the arp sounds warm, wide and harmonic, and the drums sounding so clean and powerful. i like the sound from the samples of the tr-08 more then the sound from the samples of the tr-09. the tr09 is cool and the 909 is my favorite drum machine but the SOUNDING of the tr09 is not so good in my opinion. which effects do you use, i think i hear a reverb and a little delay
No, it's virtual analog (DSP). The labels are just there to look like the original hardware. The SE-02 is the only boutique that's actually analog. That said, Roland's DSP emulations sound incredibly close to the originals.
Intensely amazing thanks so much really enjoyed every minute. Can you tell me, is it a different experience using the Tr08 or can the Tr8s (808) do same or similar? Even though both use ACB is the Tr08 better for the 808 experience?
Really torn between the SH-01A and SE02, you make both sound very good and deep in terms of possibility of sounds. Any thoughts re which you prefer and why etc?
I have recently got a few boutiques, can I ask how you have everything synced in a way that when you press play on the TR-08 and 03 it stays in sync with the DAW. I currently can only have it so that Logic X is the master clock and when I want to play live like you have done here I can't make it so that the TR08 kicks in perfectly in time. Hopefully this makes sense lol
The audio output over USB has no noise. You can hear aliasing at very high frequencies if you're looking for it, but the boutiques all support both 44.1 and 96 kHz, so you can use 96 kHz if you have any concerns about aliasing.
Roland should be very happy because this is a great advertisement for their boutique synths! Very well done!
Valhalla bliss, baby! All those machines sound stage so well together. Ace music amigo, thank you.
Currently, my favorite video showcasing the Roland Boutique Items. I am listening to this on repeat.
Gattobus is living the dream
I just found this track may I say it's fantastic! Thank you...
That was one cosmic jam! Sh-01a sounds so smooth!

Nice, that SH arp sounds great.
Wow, love it. Got an SE-02 on order, but all of them sounds great.
Great vibe through out ,, fab track ,,, the SH-01A stood out for me .
Really enjoyed this. TR-08 and SH-01A sound great, too.
Hi Gattobus, thanks for this epic jam, dude. Thank you too for your instruction videos on the Korg MS-20. It taught me a thing or two on my beloved MS-20 aka the growler.
That tr-808 sounds like heaven
Très intéressante démo , avec des sons superbes .Merci pour ce partage.Pierrot
Great track, love the weaving melodies coming in and out throughout the song! 👌👏
Glad to see you got some Boutiques! Awesome stuff. Can't wait to hear more. Peace \/.
That was awesome man! Lots of people look down on these for being too much like "toys".. but honestly I'm more convinced everyday!
Bardàn Irving well, anyway... I still love toys!
Especially such toys! They seem really powerful despite their size^^
They sure don't play like toys! ...kinda small for my paws though, sadly :[

Well played - that was inspirational and sounded really fantastic.
That was thoroughly impressive & so pleasing to the Ears! :]
That was a treat!! Awesome job!!
Very Blade Runner Like--That's a BIG sound!
Thanks for the Demo
Great tune!
Great track and very good insight of what these beauties can do! thanks for sharing :)
That thing... goosebumps all over!
Nice Pocket!!
I have bought myself several Boutiques models and the result is good indeed. Your set sounds great.
You just made my day with does roland boutique, really beautiful sound for my ears.. thanks.
Very Nice, I love the sound of the Roland SE-02 :-D
Bravo, the toys speak. I have been waiting for someone to rack a dozen of these boxes together. It's like Propellerhead Reason in hardware form. I can see where it would be a lot of fun.
I think you nailed it with Reason in hardware. There should be little boutique fx machines, too.
Definitely loving the demo! If you don't already have a Bandcamp page setup you definitely should- this is a track I'd love to take to work with me! ;-) You're definitely putting those Boutiques to good use! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!
He has
Honestly, these little things are like some kind of synth Pokémon crack. Thanks Roland !

Awesome!
good job man!
とてもCOOLである!!
Fantastic 👌
this might be the best sounding boutique demo out there, the SH and SE are prob the better ones, if Roland would reissue these at full scale with analog they would triumphantly return to their glory days .
Then once they have sold them its game over for their marketing team. They want to do as many remakes as possible before we get the real thing.
Very hypnotic...very nice! :-)
Love it!!!
Excellent
Wow! How can you connected all Boutique?
thank *YOU*
Awesome 😎
Nice!
the tb-03 soundes out of time :/ what happened there I wonder
Damn it. I need the K25 for mine...
Bomb boutique
SICK!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Every time I try to play my SH-01a and introduce my TR-08 track, it doesn't sync with what I am playing on the SH-01a. I have the MIDI set as the TR-08 being the Master.
have you figured it out yet?
@@ezassegai4793 Yes. Since I have last posted, I have re-designed my layout and added some new hardware.
How do you sync them all together? I only see usb cables.
And thats the answer
The USB connection provides power, two-way MIDI, and audio. All of the boutiques automatically sync to MIDI clock by default. You can use one of them as the master, or sync them all to a DAW (or anything else that sends MIDI clock).
Awesome! What effects are you using on the SE-02? That drone bass at the beginning sounds so cool!
Maravilhoso!
nice sound here!. the arp sounds warm, wide and harmonic, and the drums sounding so clean and powerful. i like the sound from the samples of the tr-08 more then the sound from the samples of the tr-09. the tr09 is cool and the 909 is my favorite drum machine but the SOUNDING of the tr09 is not so good in my opinion.
which effects do you use, i think i hear a reverb and a little delay
hot damn, cant fake the funk!
Cool
Wow!!!
That SH-01A has parameters labled with V (VCO, VCA, etc.) Is it analog?
No, it's virtual analog (DSP). The labels are just there to look like the original hardware. The SE-02 is the only boutique that's actually analog. That said, Roland's DSP emulations sound incredibly close to the originals.
Just saw this one. Reminds me of Carbon Based Lifeforms.
Tasteful use of the TB-03. Fantastic sound in your mix. Are you using any post reverb?
Quality mate top work. :)
Intensely amazing thanks so much really enjoyed every minute. Can you tell me, is it a different experience using the Tr08 or can the Tr8s (808) do same or similar? Even though both use ACB is the Tr08 better for the 808 experience?
super good!! can you tell how you eq the instruments? in which frequency
Really torn between the SH-01A and SE02, you make both sound very good and deep in terms of possibility of sounds. Any thoughts re which you prefer and why etc?
I love them both, but I have a soft spot for SH-01A ;)
Thanks :)@@gattobus
Greats! The Boutiques are connected in to the computer?
Curious, did you change the scale on the bass drone sequence?
Hello ! Which reverb (or delay) are you use ?
Sorry if this has been asked. What is your Master device?
I have recently got a few boutiques, can I ask how you have everything synced in a way that when you press play on the TR-08 and 03 it stays in sync with the DAW. I currently can only have it so that Logic X is the master clock and when I want to play live like you have done here I can't make it so that the TR08 kicks in perfectly in time. Hopefully this makes sense lol
was there delay added to SH-01 or is it an onboard delay?
Ciao Gattobus.
la registrazione è stata effettuata tramite usb aggregato o uscite di linea?
How are you syncing the boutiques to each other? which is master, or do you use a DAW on a PC?
awesome! Are u sequencing with a daw?
Nope, only for recording and sync. I used the built-in sequencers and arpeggiators of the boutiques ;)
sounds great. do you run a mixer? or just daisy chain them? running any fx?
Nice groove. Does “Aggregate audio device” on Mac OS work for MIDI In AND Out???
compressor and limiter...tr 09
Are you recording through USB? I mean the audio? Any digital noise?
The audio output over USB has no noise. You can hear aliasing at very high frequencies if you're looking for it, but the boutiques all support both 44.1 and 96 kHz, so you can use 96 kHz if you have any concerns about aliasing.
