love all the ideas but especially the cake dome. When my spouse was alive and he would get off work late at night... he said knowing there was something sweet and homemade under that dome was love to him. A piece of cake and a cold glass of milk before he came to bed was his reward for his hard days work. I have been alone now for 20 years and always have something under a dome. Reminds me of him

I love the enthusiasm you have for the little things in your home. Those 3 white roses reminded me of the time I went to my young friend's birthday party. It was International Women's Day on the same day. My 3 male friends each greeted me with a kiss and a white rose when I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised. (They are all Polish) I put the 3 roses in a blue and white striped jug when I got home a took a pic. I always take pics of flowers people give me. Usually the little things can mean so much. I love all the little nicknacks you have in your kitchen. 😍

I love to use old things for display in my kitchen, one thing I enjoy using are old cups that I found, in my glass canisters. I read that old coffee cups are actually a cup so I can measure with them also. I pray you have a blessed Mother's Day.
It’s good to use up all your items in your canisters. Some people just fill them for show and don’t have any idea last time they filled them. I use a dry erase marker on the back at the bottom just to remind myself last time I filled them. As you say, the look is timeless and super practical. I truly love how you used “well loved” items in your beautiful kitchen.
I love to use old/vintage tea cups as scoops. They are just that extra pretty you spoke of

I so agree Andrea. I too enjoy displaying my glassware, copper pots, pitchers, baskets, and some things my children have given me throughout the years throughout my home. I have two long shelves in my kitchen with beloved things which i never seem to tire of looking at! Lol.
Surrounding yourself with items that bring you joy and memories is a wonderful way to live.❤️ I also use vintage items in my kitchen which bring me back to my younger years 🤣❤️. Your videos are so precious 💞
Enjoying the simple things in life is not silly. I love that you use the little milk jar for flowers next year if you sink. We are currently remodeling our kitchen and my husband let me pick whatever sink and faucet I wanted. So I of course picked out a gorgeous farmhouse sink and bridge style faucet. Since I spend at least an hour a day doing dishes, I wanted to have a sink I would enjoy standing in front of.

I love stripes too! Most of my kitchen/dining linens are striped; even my kitchen rug is gray/white striped cotton.

I understand your love of glass storage jars. I love to store anything in store bought food glass jars. I reuse them, sometimes putting a pretty glass knob on the lid.
Variety brushes are very handy for many uses around the house & garage. I like faux & live flowers & garland. I keep cinnamon sugar out for my morning toast. I need groceries too! You are really talking to me today! I love canisters, on my counter & the convenience. It’s good to see you. Your home & collections are beautiful, you have eye for simple decor ideas. I happened across your video tonight. I also love vintage & antique finds and love to incorporate them into my home. I agree with you that if we're going to clean, we might as well use things that have charm & function!!
There is just something about seeing beauty in simple things. Like your dish brush. I love things that are wood and that color. I also have a nail brush that's in a dish next to the sink in my bathroom that's the same color as your dish brush that makes my sink look so pretty. I have a thing about wood & I don't know where that came from. Maybe it's becuz I'm a scandahuve. They love wood. I'm Swedish & Norwegian. I also put a small bundle of pansies in a vase there too. It's so fun. You can creat beauty in every moment in whatever you do in your house. You can even put the things you showed us in your video in your paintings. Kitchen still life's.

I also have a little milk bottle by my sink for garden flowers. They are actual milk bottles. Used before the throwaway cardboard ones. Long before your time, I'm sure. Love your home.

Use your cutting boards for charcuterie trays. Even with the little guys, carrots, celery with peanut butter, grapes. Great way to make a special and fun display of healthy snacks! Love your sweet kitchen. Best of luck with the new baby! I thought your soap dispenser was a plant mister, too. Fooled me!!
Love all your ideas. I also have a stoneware bowl I inherited from an aunt and just changed to clear glass jars so easy to see what you need. Also have cutting boards also some from goodwill

I use thrifted tin measuring cups for scoops. Always on the lookout for them. I agree, I think things should be pretty even if they are scrubbing tools!

Love all the items. I like the stoneware bowls too..... yes heavy ...but love them! Cutting boards...scoops... the list goes on right? If we are cooking and cleaning up..nothing wrong with beauty around us ! Nothing wrong with a feel good dish soap container ( I find mine handy sitting on the counter in a pretty container instead of opening the cabinet to get it out...plus my hands are usually covered and my cabinets handles needed cleaning after 🤷♀️LOL! ) and pretty scrub brush... a little like Snow White and we “whistle while we work 😁💛”

I need new pretty rectangular pot holders. I gave up on oven mitts because of a nasty burn. It wasn't padded well between the thumb and pointer area. Definitely something to look for when shopping for one.

I purchased two sets of kitchen towels from "The Cottages" line sold at Marshall's, absolutely love them. I am slowly working on curating my utensil crock with vintage wooden utensils, I always seek them while thrifting. I keep my "dish washing" essentials on an acacia wood riser next to the sink decanted into amber glass bottles. A bottle of "insert favorite dish detergent here" , isn't decor.
Just always enjoy your videos. You've inspired me to go rearrange some things in my kitchen 😊

I do wear my apron daily. So easy to carry my phone and other things. I always shorten the aprons after I first wash them for a better length.

It's funny, I decorate in a coastal style but have a lot of the same stuff (metal scoops in glass jars, unique cutting boards on display, a salt cellar)....hopefully you have better luck with the Target soap dispensers. i loved the style and bought several and they all turned green on the pump part and the silver flaked off.....replaced with some from World Market and have had better luck. Great video!

Indeed, sometimes beauty does outweigh function. I don't mind the time it takes to transfer ingredients to beautiful jars and canisters - I'm in my kitchen for hours each day, so why not be surrounded by beautiful things? 😊
Just a little warning....I bought 2 of the Target soap dispensers for my bathrooms and they both stopped working after a few weeks😞
Glass is also much healthier than plastic.

glass is more practical in other ways-- it won't pick up smells or tastes or get scratches that harbor germs! lovely video! :)
