The bestest shop buddy makes an appearance.. and no pets were given.. I might have to dislike this one. Who am I kidding, always glad to see a new one from you Dustin. Nice horse, hope he/she doesn't throw you of it.
@@dpmakestuff I stand corrected. But just one skritch, I think there is a statutory minimum of infinity skritches specified. Bollocks aside, to the right or left you choose. Really enjoy your work and hope you and the family are well.
Glad you liked it! UA-cam doing UA-cam things... I hate to be one of those people but turning on notifications is the only way to guarantee you see my videos these days.
Petitioning for all makers to use Dustin's sound effects in their future videos! haha. Is the purpose of the washer on the pivot rod to keep the pin in place while you're roughing out parts?
I love your shave horse.I want to build one with interchangable heads for shave horse, spoon mule and over center stitching horse.Where can I get a set of plans on your shave horse? Thanks for sharing video .live your studf
This is a great shave horse but I feel like all the extra work was unnecessary. Aren't they typically thrown together quickly and simply with what you have laying around? Plans like these kind of defeat the point. It's the same mentality of people who feel the need to fell and split a tree into firewood on a campout instead of just picking up dead wood off the ground IMO.
@@benchase7537 thanks, but I respectfully disagree. Just because something can be thrown together quickly doesn’t mean that’s the only acceptable way to do it. I can put a sheet of plywood on two sawhorses and call it a table. It doesn’t make meticulously handcrafted tables wrong. For your first saw horse, slap one together quick and get the sizes right. Or, make one from plans right the first time and enjoy the build and using it for the rest of your days.
you make something from the old ways , before power tools, with so much usage of power tools. Honestly asking, what is the point of all this ? Why using the shavehorse at all, if you have all those grinders and table saws etc on your workshop? It is like building the mechanism of Anticythera, with modern cnc machines.
@@dpmakestuff then why you are not using a lathe for this job ? it is no senseless. You work the way you want, but since you expose yourself with the video, my opinion is that you are doing a senseless thing.
@@erosennin873 just because you don’t understand doesn’t mean I’m doing something incorrectly. You don’t understand wood grain. The lathe is not the tool for shaping spindles, it’s the tool for turning parts.
Plans are available if you're in the market! Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Can you print the plans on Louise?

I have never seen a shave horse before, that is so cool
Very handy tool for some very specific tasks!
Nice Shave Horse build, thanks for sharing
I have to imagine your shop smelled awesome while you were working with all that pine. Another great video!
Oh it’s was pretty nice in there for a few days!
Yes!!!! New video!!!!!! Today is a great day!
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@dpmakestuff definitely did. I love the Penner-custom sound effects added in.
Lots of interesting details in this relatively simple shop tool. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing work, Dustin! Really well done! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
It's been a minute- I'm gratified you still have the best bumper track on UA-cam. 💪
Very entertaining video and what a spectacular shaving horse.
So glad I bumped into this one 😊
Love how simple it was, some people make things overly complex for minimal benefit.
I can wrap my head around how this works and parts are easy to remake or repair! Thanks!
Cheers Dustin. Thanks for sharing another great video!
I've seen other videos on it, but yours is a work of art and great to watch. Thanks.
Thanks very much! It's very functional with minimal frills. I though about adding a cup holder but it would just fill up with shavings!
Awesome build yet again! And the sound effects are next level!😂
maker and actor. Thank you!
That was an awesome build. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! I really like the brass ball on the pin.
Thanks!
Beautiful. Enjoyed editing too!
Thank you very much!
Work of art
Well done chum!
Good thing I follow you on Instagram - I never would have known about this video if it wasn't for your post! Excellent work!!

Good job!! Additionally, I loved your shoes! I want one too, lol.😁
Wow, that was simple to make. I've wanted one since I first saw it on "The Wood Wright's Shop".
Yeahs it’s not a difficult build.
Well done video my friend
yeah, new video! Awesome!
great work!

Thanks!
Good horse🐎

Nice sound effects on the re-enactment of scenes you forgot(?) to film 😂

♥️
if it has three legs, is it really a horse?
...
or is it a kangaroo?

It’s not the bow ties you put the clamps on right there and that made it bow in. Look at time stamps 5:19. Overall job 👍 SUBSCRIBED😊
May I please have your one.
What da dog doin?
She just doing what she do.
Скажите пожалуйста что это такое ?
Woodworker uses mostly modern day power tools and techniques to build a 500 year old woodworking tool so he can make chairs without power tools. 🤯
That’s pert near it.
construction lumber with a crack.... puts bowties in it. crazy enough it just might work
It’s not construction lumber and given the application it’ll work just fine.
