Hahaha that's so true. It also helps that we never actually see him shoot anyone until the Season 3 finale to save Cristobal from his wife. Although don't forget, he got to where he is because he has killed many many times before, earlier before the series actually began.
Hank and Barry are like book-ends of each other. Both of them seem like likeable people for the most part, and it would be easy to think they are harmless, but at the end of the day, both have shown that when it comes to their own freedom and self-interest, they are absolutely heartless and will do anything to protect it. The only difference is that Hank is self-aware enough to know he is a killer, and can live with that fact. Even if it means having to give up the things that are most important to him. Barry on the other hand, still tries to delude himself into thinking that he can still give up his life as a killer, and can go live the life of a wholesome husband and father, and has even dragged Sally into taking part in his delusional idea that the possibility of life as a happy family still exists.
Except hank signs other people to do the actual killing. Barry kills cheaters and mafia members. He was upset at having to kill his Marine friend and the cop. But if it's between going to jail for the rest of your life or them who you pick.
Agree with everything other than him dragging Sally along. He didn’t even ask her to come with him, she suggested they run off together because she was fed up with her failed career and thought running off with him would be some sort of sexy James Bond villain type fantasy where they live in a Tuscan villa and host parties for the elite under exotic assumed names. He was even shocked that she wanted to
@@BigWilmson I watched the same show you did, and it's pretty well laid out for the viewer to see. Barry loves Sally, and has a delusional belief that they can still have a normal life together, yet he has dragged her into a hellscape of living as fugitives, and has caused her to teeter on the edge of a breakdown because of her guilt at killing he biker. He has killed Janice, almost killed Gene, and was willing to kill Janice's father, and killed his best friend Chris. That IS heartless. Hank loved Christobal, and he may have been in anguish over him, but he ultimately cared more for his position as de facto leader of the gang than he did for his future with Christobal. And let's not forget that Hank immediately killed all his sand-partners by trapping them in a sand silo without a second thought, when confronted with the reality that he was being pulled back into the Chechen mob. That is literally the epitome of heartless. Barry and Hank are likeable, but both are completely heartless.
One of the things that i think deserves mentioning, especially given the events of Season 4, is that Hank being like this is exactly *why* he has such an incredible problem with getting any of his plans to go right
It's come to my attention that if Tom Holland shaved his head and eyebrows, he would look exactly like a smaller NoHo Hank. Could probably play his brother
It’s arguable if he’s a psycho or if he just makes evil choices. I don’t think he lacks the capacity for empathy, remorse, or ability to accept responsibility for his actions. He’s shown that he’s absolutely willing to sacrifice himself for the people he cares about, just as often as he’s willing to act callously with ruthless self interest. He cares about making people happy, he’s good natured, hard-working, and empathetic. Psychopaths are generally parasitic and unable to act altruistically. He’s definitely evil, but not all evil people have personality disorders.
hank fits psychopath behaviours, he only cared for cristobal and even then was willing to sacrifice him to become a crime boss hes impulsive, he believes anything and everything he does will work out which is why he never has backup plans to fail he is a narcissist ; he wants to be admired and loved by others, he desires superiority and doesnt consider other people, he didnt consider cristobals insights when agreeing to rejoin the chechen mob because he believes he knows best he was actively gaslighting cristobal during the argument saying he had too much to drink and disregarding his feelings. he doesnt know right from wrong, this is clearly shown in season 4 where he capitalises off of cristobals death and excuses it by saying “its in his honor” when it really is just overcompensation for his mistakes
My only complaint about Cristobal's death is that the show made it seem like he had no idea what would happen when he left. The dude was almost as casual about murder as Noho Hank was. He should have gotten a chance to make him going out on his own terms.
it was him going out on his own terms, cristobal isnt an idiot he understands what “you cant leave me” means, he would rather die than go back to crime and see the man he loves turn sour again, its his whole character just like how we ignored hanks tendencies and people genuinely were shocked of his true nature
Yeah but hank not a psycho. He was genuinely upset when Christo was killed but he had to push it down because couldn't be seen as weak and head of crime
he quite literally is, he has a lack of empathy for anyone that isnt himself, lying constantly, unable to accept responsibility, and he literally SMILED when goran died because it meant he was now head of LA operations
@@sophie-pu1kzno he isn’t. This is the same discourse as when people claim that Walter White is a psycho. Hank has that getting your boyfriend killed for knowing too much type rizz
nah truth
too soon
☹☹☹
RIP Cristobal
I love how Hank is like, very casually a sociopath, and we all only care when Cristobal gets killed because of it.
yea cuz he stopped being backed by comic relief
That’s how I felt, I was totally fine with what he did before killing Cristobal, but that one hurt
no shit

I don’t think Hank knows that tho. I mean look how he reacted when Fuches said he killed Cristobal

hank trying to be all buddy buddy with barry as if he hasn't tried to kill him several times 💀💀
Only because for some reason, all the time Barry spent as an assassin never learned not to get to know your target personally.
That last scene really hurt. No more 50/50 with Cristobal 😭
Him immediately saying “hey guys we gotta bounce” after he sees Goran dead and hearing a helicopter is still so funny
Noho is one of the most adorable depictions of a psycho lol
he was so babygirl until s4 ep4

he is too confident in his ability where he doesnt have backups if it fails, its why he loses consistently 😭

Such an enjoyable character, but goddamn he definitely deserved to meet his end lol.

Really? It's a show called Barry on HBO. 4 seasons and they just aired the series finale last Sunday. Shits the bomb bro
