Imagine, I remember when I bought my first KTM in 2011 and it was a 2012 150SX. People were talking crap about KTM, talked crap about the electric start on the 4 stroke etc... I remember when I told people that Dungey is going to put KTM on the map by winning, people will start buying KTMs and the manufactures will copy KTM. NOW LOOK AT THE NAYSAYERS IN 2011. KTM even revived the love for 2 strokes again even more so.
Impressive dedication to two wheeled racing! This is like the opposite of Suzuki. This sport needs manufacturers to go all in like this. However, I can also understand better now why their motorcycles are so expensive. I wish them continued success. Thanks for the video tour, Michael.
There's absolutely zero reason for their bikes to cost more. If people believe they're getting a superior machine, the cost wouldn't matter. Sorry, but none of the 4 brands they make are superior right now. I'll be honest about it. I can't afford to deal with a KTM or any of their subsidaries. I wanna ride, not rebuild constantly.
Daniel and Jason are the best in the business! Love to tour that place one day. Stunning. Just like their bikes. Especially my new Norden 901 Expedition. 🏍💨
when WP was founded in a garage in the netherlands, WP was the abbreviation for "white power" because of the white springs by which the shock absorbers were recognized. Who still knows what WP once stood for?
In 1979 I wanted a brand new 1979 KTM 125 so bad. I was 20 years old and had this beater RM 125, but the price was just way out of reach for me. Now, I’m turning 64 in three days and a KTM is easily in my price range…thats why I bought a Beta. There must be something about owning a bike a little more exclusive, a little more unique, and, ultimately, a little more desirable. I’m sure I would have been perfectly happy with a KTM but, alas. Anyway. Thanks for the fabulous tour! Absolutely amazing!
John Penton, founder of Penton Motorcycles, used KTM engines on their Penton branded motorcycles for over a decade.Sachs engines were used on the 100 and 125 I owned and raced several. They also started the development of gas forks and shocks. Amazing man, John's Team also participated in the Six Day Trials competition, usually placing in the top three always. Their ability to actually take a phone call at the main office in Ohio to discuss an issue with a bike was far beyond anything offered by any other motorcycle in the world. At that time, 1975, 100cc $750, 125cc $900, 175cc 1250, 250 1500.
It’s also good to create a hatred for the other bikes and teams such as KTM is far better than Husky. This is a critical part to bike sales. The kids need to be arguing over this. What this shows is everyone is in bed together and it’s really all the same and that’s not good. Back when I raced Honda ruled and I wouldn’t even think of another bike.I had a fierce Honda pride but now 30 years later I found that KTM rules and the word has to get out. KTM has to create this rivalry which is so important to racing. We all know how silly the 4 stroke bikes sound. We can’t fire it up for anyone because they don’t sound like a racing machine at all. Compare it to any other type of racing such as cars and they shake the ground when fired up. They also lug the bikes around the Supercross tracks due to low end power so they are not on the pipe and revved up. This is why the 2 stroke is a true race bike. KTM can and has the power to bring back 2 stroke racing and get the sport right. This has nothing to do with emissions because they do still make them but they need to be filling the tracks from beginner to the pros. If I owned KTM I would not even put a pro team on the track with a 4 stroke. They would all race 2 strokes. They will see a huge rise in popularity
Rodger decoster has always been a winner and still is I remember him Joel robare Dave Becker's in 1967 at Hope Town they slaughtered us Americans Eddie Mulder Ron Nelson Gary Conrad all our best
What camera are you using? The bikes are blurry, the signs are blurry… the parts are blurry… only ML’s face and shirt are crisp. Big difference with Weege’s filming. Too bad because your tour was actually more detailed. Thanks
I absolutely love KTM and own a KTM and wish them the best however,..... Why would they build a $53million facility in arguably the MOST expensive state in the Country? They would've saved SO much more money if they had built it in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida or North Carolina or almost anywhere else besides California. I think that they may end up regretting it..... Hopefully I'm wrong.
The teams run at a loss. The facility is paid for by the parent company from the sales of motorcycles and other products. The teams are money pit / marketing tools.
Not sure where you are going with that but Cooper Webb at the age of 27 is estimated to have a net worth of $5 million. No too shabby for someone who”got burned”
Yes, we mention that in the video that it's Pierer Mobility's US headquarters but not many people know that so "KTM tour" is a better UA-cam title for search traffic.
The race teams all run at a massive loss to promote the products. They're marketing entities. A brand like KTM is already making up the vast majority of the income their racers receive and paying out tens of millions each years to the riders. The race series put out very little to the riders in comparison...

I wish companies and consumers would combat woke environmental crap by voting with their dollars and investing elsewhere. Hope y’all like electric dirt bikes!
The pursuit of perfection is costly.. KTM have always invested in the future of Motorcycle racing.
Their bikes are shit, over engineered for no reason, it just leads to more problems
14:12 that's nuts, amazing facility!
That was an amazing way to store engines to me too
One thing I wish we got to see, rig parking in relation to the shop access, and their wash areas
Rigs are just outside, not building or coverage area. Just around behind the building.
