Disney won 😆 hands down.
There's a Lego vs Minecraft Rap Battle you should check out if you haven't yet. It also features Dan Bull. Also, there are a few epic rap battles from Rhett and Link that are good. Nerd vs Geek, Battle Of Manliness, Yo Mama Battle (of Compliments), and a Yo Daddy Battle.
Eminem in too deep
So basically, the point of this whole video was because ERB was angry with Disney and making them feel like they were being drained. Shortly after this, ERB made the decision to be independent
Haha, what a way to go. Absolute madmen.
Hahaha just look at Disney now…
@@thetruestar6348 Now? What has changed in just 6 years?
and made an epic patreon announcement
@@baldeaglenor7156 Disney has been bleeding money since the pandemic started.
The line "Honestly, there's alot of things you can't control at my age" is alot deeper than bowel movements.
Stan lost alot of control over his finances, licences, his property and his own creations, its actually really sad...
there are monsters in this world and elder abuse is common. and being rich just makes a brighter target. keep on eye on the elders in your life and make sure they aren't being exploited
@@jedinxf7yeah, elder people deserve better
In addition to Kermit's voice being funny, I love that Kermit is the one to deliver almost all of the savage lines. It allows Hensen to continue being the nice guy and letting his alter ego do the dirty work. It's a really nice touch.
I also loved how kermit walked out of the frame before we saw both of Hensens Hands
That's what Jim and Kermit's relationship was like in real life. Jim could never allow himself to get annoyed or frustrated, but he could let Kermit do it for him.
My favorite Easter egg is how “You taught children to count and spell” mimics the Sesame Street Theme
Holy shit. I did not catch that. I had to sing it out loud to myself.
Something that missed you Knox; there was no "Who won? Who's next." at the end. Disney won, hands down cause, well, they own the series so any way you wanna twist, they win in the end.
But the real winner is ERB as an entity. This was the last video of season 4 and the next season they broke off from Maker Studios.
Season 4 actually!
@@luxthewriter Thanks for the correction. I knew it was one of the one where they took a long break. Brain said 2 so I wrote 2 :p
There's no "who won" outro on all the season finales, which this one was as well. Layers on layers.
@@AlexanderAzarov There isn't? I'll have to look back on em.
@@AlexanderAzarov there was for harry v luke
This is a TOP 5 ERB cameo, that Walt Disney impersonation is one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen on ERB 😂
P.s. We need Michael Jordan Vs. Muhammad Ali.
543 likes and no comments? Lemme fix that.
"Most of the internet thought you died 12 years ago."
He might be dead now but he'll always live in our hearts, excelsior
You’re damn right, every Stan Lee cameo has been amazing and the work he’s done for pop culture
the sweat line is even deeper
You see Disney had a “sweat box”, a small theater where animators would bring in their rough animations to be critiqued. It was called the “sweat box” because it got hot easily and the animators would get nervous about Walt looking at their work. Walt would pull no punches.
There's also a documentary by this name on the subject.
Out of everything Jim Henson did, he felt that Fraggle Rock was the most important one. It was Jim Henson's attempt at attaining world peace. The emphasis of every episode was to teach kids healthy conflict resolution. And as for spreading that message across the world the old guy with Sprocket the dog was cast and written differently (I.E. having different occupations) depending on which part of the world the show was being aired in.
Bro, your facial expressions when Disney showed up made this reaction 1000x better. Much love and positive vibes from Florida ✌️
Really ?? Have you seen Akasan's expressions when Uncle D showed up ??
Knox has similar levels of excitement when Michael Bay showed up in the Directors Battle. But yeah I agree, he was so shocked it was so funny to see.
@@GuardianGrarl Akasan used to be gold!
@@gabrielesolletico6542 He still has some value for me.
It's currently hot in Florida and we got hurricanes on the way
Another one I only now noticed is that, while Stan said that he's the mind BEHIND the Hulk, he says Jim is the geek BENEATH the Fraggles, in reference to them being hand puppets controlled by guys underneath the camera.
Yo, I saw Gavin boarding a boat in Saint Denis, you can find him there
"The Disney Landlord of your intellectual property". Great wordplay.
The line, "turning profits, I've got the key," hits harder now that Disney just unleashed their new Magic Key program lmao
Could also be taken as a reference to the Keyblade, from the Kingdom Hearts videogame, which Disney owns. It is a videogame with world renown and high acclaim.
ERB used to be produced by a subsidiary of Disney that's why the line "...in fact I own this whole series..." is really a hidden message in the rap during that time.
Didn't remember they were called Maker Studios?
@@LongandWeirdNameThey were, but they are now independent
Everyone seems to miss the "moving right along" down the road part.
"Moving Right Along" was the song Kermit and Fozzy the Bear sang in the Muppet Movie when they were in the Studebaker.
Wanna note: that isn't Walt Disney hte Person, but basically the Modern Disney Corporation using Walt's appearance.
Tbh if you look at the beginning of his company, Walt Disney was very similar to Stan Lee and Jim Henson. He was actually exploited by a studio that stole a character of his. He was a creative mind as well and would probably be sickened to see what Disney has become.
Not really, Disney was a hardcore capitalist at heart, and a lot of the tactics Disney employs now he actually originated himself. Hell his original vision for Epcot was to create his own independent modernistic city that he would have complete dictatorship over. Also in the later years of his life he actively resented the idea that he would only be remembered for making cartoons and theme parks, wanting to leave a (in his eyes) more meaningful legacy, so he probably wouldn't care much at all how Disney's media side has turned out, since he didn't think it was meaningful anyways.
There was a review of this rap battle that was basically saying that The Walt in this battle was not supposed to be a representation of the actual man, but as the soulless company it has become. It's actually a little ironic for Walt as well, since the company he created ended up destroying some of his most valued creations as well because of its own greed.
When Stan Lee says “You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”, was a nod to Bruce Banner who would say that when he was being provoked to try to get people to stop angering him before he turned into the Incredible Hulk.
Stan Lee and Smiling Jack Kirby _created_ the Hulk
Can't believe he missed something so obvious
@@yakkowarner20ikr
If you pay attention to the guy playing Walt Disney he doesn’t blink once through his entire cameo.
This is a classic movie technique to make someone appear sinister.
He also never stops smiling
He's a Bill Cipher type
because Walt is Frozen, but the entity that is Disney isn't.
That’s Zach Sherwin.
This is a haunting ERB
Every season finale doesn't ask who won and who's next
@@arseface7256 I stand corrected
@@arseface7256 holy shit you are right .. long time watching ERB´s but never noticed this wow
@@arseface7256 Actually, Luke Skywalker vs Harry Potter did say it. Though that might be because of the pandemic.
"Ferigno" was a nod to Lou Ferigno who played the Hulk. You'll notice that a lot of bars in this battle refer to him.
Notice how you didn't hear "Who won" at the end? Disney killed it😂
They never do "Who won?! Who's next?! You decide!" on season end videos.
The first couple of season finale were Nice Peter vs Epic Loyd
@@jlokison Nope, that was just season 1, and also season 5. season 2 was Rasputin vs Stalin.
I'd never thought of the sunset at noon being the ending of a life too soon, just thought it was beautiful imagery, good catch!
Usually don't like going for cameos that don't allow a rebuttal but I don't think Henson or Lee could have spoken after that, more of a steamroller than a steamboat, a tour de force from Disney.
Loved the cypher my man and Dan Bull is always a win, great job!
That Cypher was fire, everyone killed it, especially you, Dan Bull, and Samad Savage
Thank you for catching that Mr. Hooper line when every other reactor I've seen completely fails to even catch it. Because yeah, I've seen the clip of Big Bird wanting to show Mr. Hooper a drawing and the other adults having to break the news to him and explain it all that he had passed away.
Fun fact…. They got to use the actual Kermit The Frog puppet for this battle.
WHAT NO WAY
Let me guess, they had to ask Disney for permission correct?
@@summerrose8110 well at the time they was working WITH Disney, so they had the freedom.
If this is true, this battle has just become 40% better
I need to see a source on that, I’ve been regularly following ERB since Rasputin Vs. Stalin came out and I’ve never heard this before. They definitely don’t mention it in the behind the scenes
The way he says "clenchin all your strings" with that voice effect, are a reference to Avengers age of Ultron "There are no strings on me"
The Skeksis were from The Dark Crystal. I was watching The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance before, and I loved how the Skeksis were portrayed, especially with Mark Hamill as the Scientist and Simon Pegg as the Chamberlain.
I’ve been waiting on this reaction! This is my favorite ERB!❤️
Okay
Mine as well 😊
There's a story about labour conditions at Disney being so bad the company sent an email to all its employees saying they were banned from using the term "Mouseschwitz". Someone immediately replied, asking, "Duckau?"
Notice how this battle is so savage that we don't have a "who won? Who's next?" ending here
because it was the end of the season
Started as another fun ERB rap battle, then became a shocking revelation that Disney is a titan of entertainment and not about to stop that.
For context this came out before stan lee's death but obv after jim hensons
I'm damn surprised as to how much he caught in this rap man, keep up the amazing work.
Hearing Knox talking about dark crystal, I'm just sitting here agreeing.
The reaction to Kermit character drop its perfect.
Love listening to these reactions because Knox always manages to give more information about things we only know a little bit. (Don't trust it all he's been wrong in the past.)
His response to the more melancholy bars towards the midpoint of the battle is very refreshing.
Well you heard Knox, Disney is the powerhouse. We all need to fear mickey.
And he caught the early animation references.
Disney always wins.
This one isn't that impressive as far as reference. It's all very surface and very much in the zeitgeist
Disney always wins. . . At least that's what they pay people to keep saying in the face of all evidence to the contrary. They have lost hard on a lot of projects lately
@@accywacky2699 their stocks skyrocketed, though, drop for a while because of the pandemic, but they're in an all time high, you can say what you want, but the money speaks.
This dude looks up ERB wiki and then pretends he “got” all the references lmao kinda pathetic tbh
@@wulwul5067 It's hard to believe how much knowledge he have in so many fields, it has crossed my mind that might cheat, but do you have any evidence?
Walt's drop in is one of the best in the series IMO. It's just so good. I love how sinister he feels, really demonstrates how the ERB guys felt about Disney... and then they signed with them. XD No shade, but I guess that was some good money.
Nope... They went independent from Disney shortly after this episode... I think their portrayal of walt reflects their experience of being contracted with Disney
It's sinister and a great performance, but it's NOT a good Walt Disney. Because it's not Walt Disney, it's a personification of the modern-day Disney company with Walt's face plastered on. It's kinda a shame, because I think Walt Disney the man would be good for ERB, but they didn't really do anything with Walt Disney the man.
@@duchessofmelon9967 I agree, but Walt's personal notes are much more mundanely questionable rather than evil in a grandiose sense like WD the company. Walt was a hardass boss and (likely) racist, sexist, anti union and politically active during the Red Scare. His biggest actual crimes were hanging out with highly questionable people and doing them favors even if he may or may not have believed in the results himself, investing his money in strange but ultimately questionable ways, and stacking himself among the worst anti-union figures in all of history.
Which is all to say, he is a lot less entertaining as a symbol than he would be more accurately represented as who he was in life. He's not the only character or figure in ERB to get this treatment, but usually, I agree with the choice because the purpose of ERB was always to entertain rather than educate. You can write a book (and many have) about Walt's personal and professional choices, but this is a rap battle on YT.
Walt dominating is my favorite. His brown and yellow suit, his complete acceptance of what he does and what his company became. Unapologetic
Everytime i watch this one i cry a bit when they get along and im scared of Zach as Walt, notice he didn't blink once :| Thank you for covering this one, also the Cypher was fire, the moment i saw you pulled Dan into it i droped everything i was doing to see it :D
I love to see how people react to this Walt Disney cameo, its too good.
I had a babysitter who sat me down and made me watch ALL the horror movies out on VHS in '89-'90 when he found out that I wanted to watch them but my parents wouldn't let me. He had all of them. The Dark Crystal had nothing on Hellraiser.
I love that you made the "end of the world" connection to the "sunset at noon" line. It makes the Disney take over more poignant.
That was an awesome babysitter, and I adore Hellraiser, always nice to see someone else bring it up.
@@ryanager8029 Yeah, he was seriously cool. Super patient to be able to put up with me at that age, as well.
“Bupkis” Yiddish for “nothing at all” Stan Lee was Jewish FYI
Full name Stanley Lieberman. he used "Lee" because back in the 1930's being obviously Jewish was a negative on the job market.
I like how when he says "we all have a time to go" Kermit 'walks' off.
Disney is a good example of how corporations should have size caps before having to divide in two separate companies, as well as limiting how many subsidiaries a parent company can have to prevent these super companies...
Just want to say that you are one of the best reactors to these ERBs. You never fail to impress me with just how much you know and get in every single video. Believe me when I ay I have watched at least 6-8 reaction videos for almost every ERB and I don’t think anyone gets nearly every bar as consistently as you do.
I mean he is a rapper, so he should be able to get behind the bars. But that just shows how deep he is in the rap matter.
Finally Knox you never disappoint !!!!! Been waiting on this one!!! The cypher was🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The behind the scenes for this one is pretty good especially when they talk about how they crafted the Henson voice.
"The Dark Crystal"
Jen (Stephen Garlick), raised by the noble race called the Mystics, has been told that he is the last survivor of his own race, the Gelflings. He sets out to try to find a shard of the dark crystal, a powerful gem that once provided balance to the universe. After the crystal was broken, the evil Skeksis used sinister means to gain control. Jen believes that he can repair the dark crystal and bring peace back to the world, if he can only find the remaining shard.
Release date: December 17, 1982 (USA)
Directors: Jim Henson, Frank Oz
Starring: Stephen Garlick; Lisa Maxwell; Billie Whitelaw; Percy Edwards
Story by: Jim Henson
Music by: Trevor Jones
The cypher was DOPE! Congrats!
Love your breakdowns! I can’t wait to see you do Albert Einstein vs Stephen Hawking! You should also check out the Princess Rap Battle of Daenerys vs Maleficent!
Knox, loved the One World Cypher, loved this reaction! Keep killin' it
Specifically I think the comics code line refers to a list of things comics had to abide by
Hero always win, villains lose, damsel is saved; which was broken by gwen Stacey legit **dying** by the green goblins hand
dope break down and will check the cypher out!!!have blessed day
Bruh your new song is fire 1st btw❤️
Okay
Mark my words, if Knox Hill and Dan Bull ever went professional, they could take the rap game by storm
Okay, had to rewatch the part with Walt. To see your face and the pure joy and amazement at that intro was so fun!
World Cypher was fire. Should be getting far more views than it is.
I love watching reactions to this one when Walt appears. So many great faces people make. I actually don't watch this one much because the Muppets were a strong presence for me as a child, and I teared up the first few times I watched it. But I like watching others watch it.

@@ihavekalashnikovyoudomath9275i rock the mic properly 🗣️🗣️
Since you mentioned the fireworks at Disney, I heard a couple years ago that Disney buys more explosives every year than anyone outside the US Department of Defense.
I once read that Disney has one of the largest navies in the world. They're cruise ships, but still.
I say this is the best ERB ever. Hands down. I watch this like few times per year just to keep myself entertained and to be wary about M-I-C K-E-Y
I gotta say joker vs pennywise is probably this best in my opinion
Have been waiting for this one for a while. Truly one of the high points of ERB. Just the right combination of savage lines, thoughtful words and meta bars. On top of all that just amazing visual and great production on the track.
Thankfully since then Pete and Lloyd have gone independent again since then and have continued with many great battles even if they aren't as prolific as they once were what with getting older having kids etc.
So happy to finally see this one!!!!! Made my day!
You really should look at some of Zach Sherwin's work. You always seem pleased to see him in the ERB videos. Keep up the good work!
Have requested Drop Bars several times now. The word play is insane.
I want him to react to Zach sooo bad
I would love him to react to the letter c 😍🤣

I love this one! Thanks Knox!
Loved this reaction and breakdown Knox!
I love your channel, best breakdown of erb ever!
Ha holy shit I love seeing people react to Walt Disney chiming in, for the first time. Also keep it up man, I love how intricately you break down everything. 👍🏽
The ending of this battle has struck me as the most eerie out of all of every single ERB the've put out, just a black background with TVs replaying past episodes. No outro or anything.
They do that with each season finale, no outro. This one has probably the best music though.
How tf did I miss your cypher watching it now!
this is one of the only two erb that doesnt end with the voiceover asking "who won?", here he didnt ask because disney won by literally owning everyone and everything involved which is terrifying
the philosophers erb ended with him asking "what is winning?"
Don’t the season finales usually skip the “Who won?” bit?
Beautiful breakdown as always.. and the One World Cypher was too good, Knox..
Edit: That's typically my answer when the "Lee stealing from Kirby" argument presents itself.. "..it was a collaborative effort, Kirby didn't get the credit he deserved, but i don't think that was Lee's fault, and both created original characters of their own as well.."
The breakdown of the "Sunset at noon" line was my interpretation as well.
Been waiting on this banger
Is Zach Sherwin still doing music? That would be a dope collab.
I never thought so deeply about the sunset line, that's a beautiful analogy
Finally! Thanks

THIS COMMENT RIGHT HERE! 👆
Yessssss finally! Ok now I'll stop bugging you about this one. ♥️
The reason disney has 3 circles is because it owns the sun, the moon, and the earth
Cause I can sense your tension once the verbal fencing starts commencing,Henson also tells Lee that he feels that Lee is feeling tense, or reluctant when they are rapping against each other. This is also a reference to the tension force in puppet strings, as Henson was a puppeteer.
I've been waiting for this one since you started reacting to ERB and it was worth the wait. 1 thing you missed at the end there isn't a 'Who won? Whose next?' which could be interpreted as no one winning from what Disney does or that its so clear that DIsney wins or that you don't actually have a choice and the illusion is gone. You were right that this came out just after Disney took over Maker studios and it caused a battle behind the scenes with ERB trying to get out of their contract with Maker studios and go do it on their own privately.
Was re-watching this and if you haven't figured it out yet, while ← and → jump 5 seconds while paused, < and > go by frame if you're looking to stop the screen in a certain spot.
Finally the best one is here!
last night i had a dream about you reacting to this battle, and here i am
YAYYY finally and as you were rewinding during Disney part I keep rewinding as well seeing your expression one of my fav expression you made when Disney said he owning this battle and in fact I own the whole serie and when Disney say hop on my steamboat boys but don't rock it truly one of the best ERB and my personal fav 😊
Have you noticed during the steamboat bar, Disney points at Henson when saying "dont rock it" and at Lee when saying "green in your pocket", so I see it as a reference to their key creations Steamboat Willy, Fraggle Rock and the Hulk. Also, another weird flex on Walts side since he literally can keep Fraggle Rock from rocking and put the Hulk in his or any pocket as the two franchises hopped on HIS steamboat.
Every season ending ends with a long music cut like this instead of the "Who won, who's next, you decide"
Uhhhh , knox the new intro song is banging !
Finally! Been waiting on this one. love the breakdowns on the ERB vids,
