I had an interview with him in 2008, I was very happy since I missed Lucky Dube's in early 2007. We used to listen to his music on Radio Zulu in the early 90s.
IT LOOKS LIKE WE SHARE THE AGE MY MAN,YES RADIO ZULU WAS PUSHING REGGAE THOSE DAYS ESPECIALLY ON SATURDAYS ON THE PROGRAM DRIVEN BY SJULA SOMKHONTO[ezanabhungu namatshitshi
In 1991 I was 9 years old living with my father and my stepmother. Life was not easy as my stepmother was very abusive towards me and my siblings. My sister and I were sleeping in the lounge on the floor ( which was normal back then). My dad would wake up earlier and put on Radio Zulu then go take a shower. As soon as we hear this song on the radio ( it was played every weekdays at 06:30) we knew we have to get up and prepare for school, which was something I always looked forward to, being away from that house and hated after school😅😅😅. Being beaten with a sjambok at the age of 9 years was no child's play, still have scars to this date 😢😢😢.
Reminds me of my child hood as an 11 year old watching kwacha good morning zambia in chingola zsic complex flats flat B no. 11 pure nostalgic with our neighbours bena kondwani mhango, suzyo, leka, towela, sailas, Vicky, kapo dindi, lalu, chaitanya,,benson bowa, john chama, flora, ricky, saukaNi zimba, johnyy from block E vivid ones i can remember
