How to reach -
Lets first discuss where's niagara on the lake is located, Well it is situated in southern Ontario. It sits on the shores of Lake Ontario, at the mouth of the Niagara River.
If you are travelling from Gretter Toronto area (GTA), The cheapest option would be by driving, it is around 132 KM away from Toronto and will take around 1 hours 30 minutes.
We drove from Mississauga and it took us around 1 hours 15 minutes. We have started 9 am in the morning reached Niagara on the lake at around 10.30 am..
3. What to do -
Once you reach, park the car in any road side meter parking there are plenty of parking spots available almost in every street.
Plenty of shops, restaurants, art galleries are there to explore. observe the clock tower located in the heart of of the Niagara on the lake town. There are lots of restaurants and patios where in you can sit and enjoy delicious food. We enjoyed walking in town and taking beautiful pictures.
In a short walk from the clock tower right beside the golf course, fort Mississauga is located. We walked there. Don't get confused with the name, this is not in Mississauga. This fort was build during 1814-1816 and it was actively part of many wars.

Then we drove to Fort George National Historic Site, it was just 5 in drive from the clock tower of Niagara on the lake. One of the must place. During the war of 1812 this fort served as the head quarter of the center division for the British army.

After exploring Fort George we just crossed the road and went beside the Niagara river, sat ideal and spent some relaxing time. You can bring your own food, drinks and plan for a picnic beside the river. It will give you an amazing experience.
We have visited pond view estate winery. It was only 7 minutes drive from Fort George or Niagara on the lake town. There we enjoyed testing wines and also got some idea about the process.
