Pretty privilege is NOT worse than colorism. Colorism is something that affects far more people, amongst all races of people, is applied to both genders, and is in alignment with hundreds of years of white supremacy. You've even said in this video that pretty privilege is not a gatekeeper for finding a man/what men want (men want a natural woman who takes care of themselves and with a good personality). In this video, you've also denounced your thesis by saying colorism can be seen if you choose to move out of your race, and up financial hierarchies; you will see colorism more blatantly. Also, skin color plays a role in how pretty you are- ex: a woman made two dating profiles, one as her dark skin self, and then an altered photo where she lightened her skin-she got way more likes on her lighter picture BECAUSE skin tone plays a role in perceived beauty. Pretty privilege is not worse than colorism, and I think you know that. Sorry.

As a student of psychology and the history of good vs evil between black people and Europeans, I have to include that history to come to an objective understanding and solution to why we're so dysfunctional in our interactions with each other.
In short, our "choices" in so many components of our lives, has been altered by our traumas and the conditions we find ourselves living under.

Light skin and light brown skin black men tend to prefer dark skin women. So your statement is false. Most blk men are light brown to brown in skin tone not including men from other countries. So most black men do prefer darkskin women over light skin women. But the blk men who we happen to see in the media tend to be darkskin who happen to date light or white.
Darkskin women tend to focus on dark skin men instead of light skin, and light brown men who prefer them over lighter skin women. And most blk men who prefer lightskin blk women tend to leave them for white or latinas. Just an observation. Dont shoot the messenger.

For me this illustrates just how mentally weak some women are….I’m “Short king” and yet we as a group don’t gripe and cry to the world about being short, we accept it and move on. Colorism for Bkack Women is just another excuse in the bag of excuses they use for for not wanting to compete for men. As short king If I want a woman in my life…I have to be sure I can offer more than the average man can. Women don’t understand Darwinism’s basic premise…Survival of the Fittest. If every time you see a black male athlete from track and field, basketball and football and soccer they have a mixed or white woman or mixed latina that already tells you that when they get the money they don't choose African women or majority african descent women ie african american or caribbean.

Yes, I date wealthy men exclusively and I date outside of my race. It's not easy for DSBW that are pretty. I have options definitely but most of the options are options that I don't want. I'm young, attractive, in shape and educated so I will not date down which makes things a lot harder because most BM on my level date out of their race because they hate themselves and yt men prefer their own which is normal so it leaves women like me in peculiar position when it comes to dating.

OK, so we are ignoring the celebrities including musicians, actors, and athletes. How many of them are with dark skin pretty women? Lort. So, we are ignoring that you had a former NBA player that totally dragged Lupita for her dark skin color. Colorism is a serious problem when it comes to dating and marriage, specifically if women are trying to "marry up" and in particular circles. However, the reality is that there is truly somebody for everybody and everyone has the right life partner for them, so, there is no reason to feel like you are in competition or that it will not happen for you. It's more about being prepared for when you meet "your person", you have the emotional, mental, and physical balance to engage that person and make a life with that individual. Women need to stop decentering men and being worried about how they think about their value and worth. Your value and worth is not based on other people's opinions of you. Also, women need to stop basing their value solely on the physical including beauty.

Great breakdown, this was explained perfectly! I love me some Tika Sumpter that woman is drop dead gorgeous to me, i would choose her any day over someone like tiny from xscape! However you have a light skin woman like Brittany Renner, who are physically attractive, but how she carries herself and her personality make her a complete turnoff!

*worse and ngl I disagree. Colorism is much worse, you're literally barred from certain things due to the shade of your skin, and even people who are not considered "pretty" can be affected by colorism. Also, black men will tell you themselves, they usually prefer lightskin/nonblack women (I have no opinions about that bc I'm not attracted to men, not a dig at black men but it's the truth) so let's not lie to ourselves here.
