At about 16:28 you called your Tokyo OU a GPO 😉 To any confused learners, the "fancy folder" is called an OU or Organizational Unit, not a GPO, he just goofed and called it a GPO. Probably because he was up all night running on coffee to get this video finished for us 😉
Yes you must have a Windows Server. The "Azure AD Connect" tool is something you install on a Windows Server operating system. It does not work on client operating systems
