Nicaragua is literally one of the most safest places to travel and visit in Latin America but a lot of people don’t know this because they always compare us to our brothers and sister from the north honduras and el salvador which are very bad countries to travel as I been told you can go around the corner without a gang stopping you and asking for money or else. Nicaragua is not perfect no country is but if it’s one thing they don’t tolerate over there is gangs. Crimes still happen because is a world wide thing not matter where you are but as in overall traveling Nicaragua is one of the best places to visit. I suggest everyone giving a shot at least once. It’s very cheap compare to other places also
I love that your experience was so great! It reminds me of my trip to Australia with my friend & her family. There wasn't a language barrier but spending quality time with someone else's family & being accepted & welcomed to share their country is a remarkable feeling I wish everyone could feel & offer others.
Thank you for making this video! it's very inspirational to hear a story like this: traveling alone to a different country and learning a language... amazing!
Just discovered your channel. It's awesome :) I am also learning Spanish and make videos in Spanish. Im not quite at the fluent stage yet but hope to be one day.
Yeiii!! You were in my beautiful Nicaragua!!! Here is the paradise for foreigners, cheap life cost, kindly people, safety places, great food. And wooow you tasted nacatamal 😅😅 I supposed you learnt our "palabritas", chavala, tuani, etc. Everyone is welcome in Nicaragua!!!
I've only ever done long-term immersion experiences (Germany, China), but I've considered doing exactly that kind of short-term (4-8 week) experience for Spanish. I've even looked at Veronica's Spanish School online! Thanks for posting your story and testimonials.
Thanks Jason for your comment! I'm glad you liked the video! If I had the time, I would love to do long term immersions too, because then you get to know the culture even more. But if you're limited for time, a short term immersion is great too. That's awesome you've already looked at Veronica's website! If you go, you will have a great time!
iirc, there were a couple of other schools in SJdS that looked decent. obviously without actually enrolling in them you can't speak directly to their quality, but have you developed an impression about any of the other schools there from people you've talked to?
mmm not really unfortunately! the only thing I noticed is that the other schools are mainly in the city centre, so you'll be in the tourist area, which means you won't be seeing the area where the locals live and spend time. That's why I really liked my school because it was away from the tourist area!
I saw that beautiful nicaraguan flag 🇳🇮 and inmiadiately told myself, I gotta watch this. Hahaha Glad to hear you enjoyed the experience of learning spanish here. 😁
Hey Anna! It's been a long time since you came to Colombia, I am Laura, one of your students here in Bogotá. actually I was thinking about you lately because I'm about to get back to Japanese classes, just as the ones you gave us at school every Thursday in the lunch time, hope you remember. It's really good to know you're making this kind of videos because you motivated me then, and you are doing it right now by telling your experience and memories. Thanks for the tips, and also for the Japanese classes, I feel more prepared to face this challenge than I was before, and it's all thanks to you. Keep uploading videos and posting in your blog, it is always good to watch and read you I guess. Bye... 😊👋🏼
Hi Laura!! Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving me a comment! So great to hear from you!! and yes of course I remember the Japanese classes! You were one of the most dedicated, intelligent students I had! I'm so glad to hear that my videos are having a positive impact on you :) and yes, that would be awesome to take Japanese classes!! good on you for continuing your learning! I hope you're doing well in Colombia. I miss it a lot! Big hugs xxx
Que biem que te gusto Nicaragua.one thing i can brag about is the hospitality of my people and beaches.lolz.also food is soo 😋.God bless you.im soo happy that you like my country.
This video is so inspiring! It really shows that if you're truly motivated for something and are willing to work hard towards a goal you can achieve anything you set your mind to! Thank you so much for sharing this incredible video!!😊☺️☺️
Thank you Anna! Very inspiring! Funny I have been inspired to visit Colombia. I was motivated to take a language immersion class in Medellin. I've found one similar with a host option! Your inspiration has given me the "Go For It" push to follow thru! Yay! Keep on your global journey! I thank you again for the wonderful, authentic, heart inspired video! My best to you, Randal
FinesseManMarco not really 800$ for a month, plus 3 meals a day, in America you pay 1600$ just for rent and around 300$ for food, so its cheaper living eating plus there teaching you spanish its a win win win
That's so great Nedra! I'm glad you found the information helpful! Just letting you know that because I went there in 2012, the school may have changed a little but please contact them to see whether they're still taking students. I hope you have a great time!
Great video! I am headed for the Frida School in Mexico City and hoping to do something similar. I can only go for 2 weeks so I have been working daily using Babbel to try to learn as much as possible before I go in April.
Great video heading to meddlin in dec . Will definitely take the privates over the recommended group classes. It's a must I leave with the language in a month
Your video is dazzling me and I want to tell you something I'm a English speaker as well and I speak Spanish a few times but my a few times a day before I go to bed and you should do another video of doing Spanish while you in your sleep
Everybody I found on UA-cam that stated how they learned Spanish said they moved to live in a predominately Spanish speaking country like going to live in Spanish, Puerto Rico, Chile, etc. And I know living in America there's a lot of Spanish speaking people but we speak predominately English. So how can I learn fluent Spanish without traveling.
Im from argentina...you dont necessary need to travel to learn a foreign language....of course it will be much more easier if you do it ...if you live in a placer where you have to use it or use it .. to survive!! You know what i mean ...but I think that is the key...the key is that living in a spanish speaker county you practise a lot ..So do that ...learn in your place and practise practise and more practise....and you will get the same results .....That was exactly what i did to learn english

SxyGrl44 same, it’s relly frustrating when all you get is ‘travel to a spanish speaking country’ any recommendations?

Cristian Mora R also for me there's no need to spell with perfection. And trust me I conjugate my words fine. I taught myself Spanish. Me ensene
Is Nicaraguan Spanish pronunciation similar to Mexico's spanish? Would they understand me if I spoke the Spanish I learned from Nicaragua?
Sean Ogreen of course
We all understand each other from every country only the Argentinians are a little hard to understand
Of course, just as you understand British people or Australian people etc. The only thing that changes is the accent!!!
Thanks guys
Es imposible aprender un idioma en 2 meses. Nadie puede discutir esto.

There's nothing misleading about her story... Obviously not everyone can do the same thing but they can learn from her experience.
Thank u so much for the info. Do u have to do it for 2 months or would 1 month be ok? Please share about your experiences when u lear Portuguese?
Thanks Noemi! I think one month would be a bit limited.. Yes I'm planning to share my other experience soon! Stay tuned :)

"Learnt" is the past tense of "learn" in British English. Australia uses British English and she is Australian. It is not incorrect.

Neutral Spanish in Nica? Lol
Finally...someone who names the language they speak in Nicaragua by it's real name!
Lol..the accent! Sounds like a bit of American
You can't learn a language in two months. It takes years of steady commitment and practice.
