As a person born in 2002, I have had the privilege of using the Internet to learn many of the songs I know, and it certainly was what helped me teach myself the guitar. If I had to pick one band to listen to for the rest of my life, I’d probably say Fugazi. They have a much bigger discography than some of my other favorite bands like Fig Dish.

Fugazi are a great choice. Not sure I could narrow down to one artist, so many influences and great music out there.

Good advice sir. I would also add to the bit about embracing your influences. Don't just embrace them, study them. Figure out what they are doing, copy them, then develop what they do into your own style. Open mic nights are great, but so is busking. Learning how to perform and engage an audience is essential if you want to make a living from your music. Most people will walk passed you in the street when you're playing, but if you can connect and hold even one persons attention and get them to stop and listen then you're probably onto something. It's a very tough learning curve but one of the best ways to learn your trade.

And that is probably the most difficult part. Our ego getting broken just a little. Seeing people get up and walk around to get a drink while you play, or even just pass you by, will not only help you get over Stage fright, but it will help break your ego a little bit... in a good way. The less you focus on what you think people think about you and your playing and focus more on delivery, the better. In fact, the less you think about stuff while you play, as in, the more you can feel like you're just playing at home or for certain people you feel comfortable playing for, the better. And that comes with practice, and playing out ENOUGH.
      Thanks for watching!
