Thank you for watching! 😊
The snare fills are horrendous and so robotic….i had this machine in the 16 bit version in the 90s and it really served me well for demoing stuff….i had it all midi connected and programmed it with motu performer. There are some very useable sounds in there though
I had that drum machine! I loved it. It was my go-2 back in the day!
I was never a fan of the master volume on a twin. I just don,t use it thats all .
Uh I don’t know but my Tele don’t fit in that case . Too puffy on the lid and it’s too much padding …weird …
Is it Metal made or Plastic??
metal
Is it noisy?
@@japhethelcarte390 No. I wouldn't call it a boost, but it enhances the sound. Makes the sound more "full". I hope this helps.
Thanks for the information Steve. Best of Luck
I thought it was gonna launch into avalanche master song
Same
same 😂
Nice may I ask where ya bought and how much?
Guitar Center online $142.46
@SteveReavesMusic Have you ever had it get stuck on just one setting? When I turn it back on, we go back to the same drum pattern. I figured out how to get a fresh restart, once, but is there a procedure? Thanks.
@@cecilDisharoon I'm sorry, I haven't had that problem yet.
I had to check if my left earbud was broken lol
Adding reverb to the Alesis makes it sound even more amazing!
I had that Drum Machine over 28 years ago and I absolutely loved it
Thank you so much !
Uh no
My dream guitar🙈🙈
Great review. Thanks for showing how the foot switch works .i need to get one for mine cheers
About to get one! Awesome
There is a bad noise when you light the pedal
Mine was junk. I took it back to Sweetwater.
American Musical Supply is an immoral company that recently fired a homeless man Paul B for no reason, his job was his lifeline and they gave him a death sentence - you can see his video's and explanation on here on the channel; The American Homeless Holocaust - please don't do any business with American Musical Supply.
What I normally do is, if there is a guitar I like at guitar center, I try it and such, clean if I have to simply. If I find one I like, I leave the store. I don’t buy from guitar center. I check sweat water and then buy it from there, guaranteeing that I will get a guitar NEW and not one that’s been played by many people.
I do the same
at 1:49 you say the tape I/O jack is to send audio toa DAW etc. It is data I/O to back up internal data to tape (or any recording device) and bring it back in.
@@RonnKilby I was talking about MIDI I/O being used with your DAW.
@@SteveReaves Sorry but very confusing when you say, "so you can hook up to an audio interface" - sounds like you meant to send audio since you never mention data backup function on the "tape" jack.
@@RonnKilby Okay, makes sense what you meant now. Thank you for your input.
Does it have a mellower snare setting or way to turn off reverb?
Yes, many parameters are editable.
@@1man1guitarletsgo I got mine used without a manual, arrghh.
How do you make it sound this good? I've heard a lot of youtube demos of the SR-16 and the best sounds always seem to come out of 16 bit units, I don't know why. It sounds more punchy and ''alive'', whereas the 24s sound a bit off. Maybe it's a coincidence that has to do with volume level, headroom and clipping? You had it set quite loud here, right?
Actually, the main thing I did was make sure nothing was clipping. I keep most of my EQ pretty flat. I keep the volume in the green, and volume on the device at about noon-ish. Where it works so we'll, is you can change drum kits within the device. You can use it to write in patterns on your DAW, and change kits using a VST, from there. And one thing I'm going to work with is using effects units and pedals with it. But it is a nice piece of equipment. Thanks for watching!
@@SteveReaves Yeah, using it with pedals should lead to interesting results! Are there many dry kits, tho? Some seem to be effected (reverb, compression, etc.) already. Also, do you think it's easy and intuitive enough to learn as a first drum machine?
sounds so stinkin industrial lol
Godflesh recorded their first album (Streetcleaner) with a HR-16. After it blew up they replaced it with an SR-16, which they used on the next couple of albums. So it has got a great industrial background! 😉
Adding reverb helps SO much!
How do you do that? reverb...@@sxdxfan
@@JohnBobRoger my PA system has reverb built into it, but I suppose you could also buy a cheap reverb guitar pedal and put that in between the PA system and your mixer!
Should have bought a tuner, Jesus Christ man, are you deaf?
That blinding led ligh is not a deal.
I placed a small piece of gaffers tape over mine. Dimmed it nicely. Not the prettiest but I’m sure if I spent 5 more mins on it, no one would know.
Oh no... Your poor eyes can't look to another way, or put some tape on it 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Still sounds like an Epiphone
My appreciation 😊
I can’t view your video as it’s marked private
This one is showing as Public on my end with no restrictions. I'm not sure which one is showing as private for you.
Handymen in your house?
😂 just the sound of blast beats from the sr-16. I probably should have put it through the DAW, exported the sound, and embedded the audio into the video... Yet, here we are. I'll try to do something with that preset in a future video.
Just grabbed a 2002 USA Red Stripe version. Absolutely LOVE IT!!.
@@jonathananthony1901 it's like a swiss army knife.
@SteveReaves it really is! I have a 2014 Peavey Classic 30 combo, and a Mesa Mark V half stack, but I find myself grabbing the Studio Pro 112 the most often. It just works!
@@jonathananthony1901 back in the day, when everything was made in Meridian Mississippi, you could go meet Hartley Peavey. Take a tour of the factory, and everything. He was a musician's guy. They made great gear for local gigging musicians at a reasonable price.

How many presets?
@@jeremiahciudaj801 50 main presets. Each preset has an A and a B version (this 100 presets), and each preset has a fill.
Out of all my hi end guitars my shecter omen 6 is my favorite
I have this exact amp, in near new condition, with no amp head in it., and no handle., I’ve had it for about 20 years now, I think I’ll use it as a cabinet until I can find an amplifier that will fit in it., never had any luck finding a replacement amp unit .
Interesting. Hopefully you can find a replacement amp, but I'm sure it will make a nice cab too. Thanks for watching!
That’s the best drum machine money can buy, even better than the sr18 👌👍
You look like Tim
My Dad gave me this guitar when i was 16 years old and i love it. Sounds amazing for the American Standard series and one of the best strats i have ever played!
I'm happy that the headphone output is available on the newer models.
i have the same amp in perfect unaltered condition including original tubes and speakers and owners manual. fender usa drip logo on front. so loud you could play woodstock without the PA System. i have the footswitch pedal and it has 2 plugs to go into the vibrato and reverb jacks, it just engages 1 or the other or both
I hope that a little tweak on the knobs for comparison. Nice video thanks for sharing.
Hi, if using preset drum tracks on songs for a venue, can these be stored, so when I do my set list songs I dont have to mess programming each track, like if they were stored for my songs I could just press one button and up it comes .. cheers, Col
I'm assuming you mean transferring the preset to a DAW. Yes, you can do that using MIDI IN/MIDI OUT. Also, you can use the drum machine as a stand-alone instrument. But when you make a drum track, it stores on the device. If you have a song that uses a variation of the drumbeat you are using, you can make a "B" version to switch back and forth to.
Thank you for your reply, appreciated, so I have to transfer away from the machine to put drum tracks ( eg; 31A. 32B etc' ) in a running order for a set list of songs when playing a venue, .. my problem was always having to press in, eg; 31A and adjust the tempo when starting a song, then next song I have to press , eg; 32B and adjust tempo, its time consuming when playing solo, I'll give your suggestion a go. my thanks again ...
If you use the number keys you can quickly choose a preset pattern, (type in 31 and press start). I use 2x Alesis foot pedals (very affordable) to start/stop and go from A to B. The machine gets to the end of a bar then does a bar of fill and switches to the A or B pattern. I put the pattern no. and tempo at the top of a chord sheet. Bang in the info and start the next song. Quick and versatile. Rarely program or change the drum set. I'd use midi for that but then youre lugging a tablet or laptop, more to go wrong.
Nice
Sir, there is no socket for “Headphones” on this machine been using this since it was first released.
On mine, there is. I'll be happy to point it out to you on the next video.
This must be a later model than the one I’m using. I can reassure the older models has no headphones. The SR 18 has. I use that as well.
The newer models have a headphone jack. Mine does. I just got it. @JohnSAitken
I had this drum machine, and the major flaw for me was that the pads were absolutely terrible to tap out your own pattern, they aren't touch sensitive enough, you have to hit the things really damn hard, and it was a right pain in the arse.
The greatest drum machine/sequencer I ever had was the BOSS Dr. Rhythm Section because the keys were set up like a guitar fretboard.
What's the model number? I have the DR-670
@@JasonMontell2501 The DR-5 Dr. Rhythm Section is an innovative new concept in rhythm composers. Designed like a guitar fretboard, it features a programmable backing band including bass, drums and keyboards. What I also loved about it is you could set up the drums however you wanted by assigning keys, tuning, and volume. Example: I would have 5 different versions of a specific Bass Drum and Snare Drum, some tuned slightly higher and lower at slightly different volumes. The reason was it added a human element and sounded less like a sample unless you were listening extra close. This could also help you create realistic sounding ghost notes like Bonham did a lot.
@@TheKitchenerLeslie I believe the dr-670 does all of that too.
@@JasonMontell2501 Not as many buttons and not set up like a fretboard, which makes it super easy for guitar players and bassists to program. Plus it has tons of other instruments. It's actually a 4 track sequencer.
@@TheKitchenerLeslie what do you mean by 4 track sequencer
