6. Take some time to live your life. Have a relationship, go out, drink (I don't mean every night, I mean, once in a while), socialize, find hobbies that you can manage with your lifestyle. Release the stress all that studying puts on you
also, low maintenance relationship! If someone is bringing the drama- dump that person! same for friends. The social circle is going to do some major changes.
Lecturio helped me a lot to get better in terms of time management and I highly recommend it to everyone else. I started using it a few months ago and I was quite impressed by how much my academic performance increased in med school. They also give you MCQs every day which you can do in your free time, so that you won't waste your time in the bus or anywhere else. Definitely give it a try
I agree about the facebook thing, etc. people do spend most of their time going on facebook and eating , facebook, and eating, gaming.. I do that and I need to stop! I will be more prepared for the next semester since I need to increase my GPA. This video is helpful.
I should have watch your videos before diving to 1st year...oh well...this is really true. Make most of ur time studying, lessen movietime, social media and musicT.T you can have that on summer..which is today. I have regrets but I will never do it again. A book stand also helps!!! She's a goddess. I used to have long hair...I cut it short now..true you need to keep it simple. I don't do make up anymore bb cream is already enough and lastly!!!! Groceries... always maintain food in your fridge.. Studying much makes you hungry!!And coffee is a friend, sleep is my bestie....without sleep there is no facilitation of memory...You will fail in an exam especially if its biochem.
Cool! I like to take study breaks every hour or so. The break lasts from 5-10 minutes at max. For instance, I am taking a study break right now. In 3 minutes, I will go back to reviewing biology material. Good luck on the USMLE!
I wasted some time watching this video which makes me feel guilty right now! And also wasted time writing this useless comment which makes me even guiltier, Oh God!
Great video. I am not in Med School yet, however I live on my own and do full-time education and part-time work (plus voluntary jobs, work expereiences, gym etc.) I apply all of the tips mentioned in the movie, and people are usualy surprised how do I manage to do so many things when my time is so limited. It really works ! :)
Im in first year and my biggest problem is with step 3, damn you net and videogames for being so good :\, and because of that my first grades werent that good, and of course im conscious of why, but I think I have a big problem with it
So what do you do when you really want to study but as soon as the motivation comes you go back to thinking about why you have to study and although the reasons you remember are really important, your brain tells you meh. At this rate I'm gonna be wanting to do many things in life but backing out because of my lack of enthusiasm. 'eh, what's the point?'. Dammit. Meh.
Don't change don't shower don't eat don't use the bathroom.. Jk um try taking showers in between classes... Lol it actually works if ur dorms are right next to uni. Idk if this tip is gonna be useful after 4 years...meh.
Preached low maintenance life style. Later mentions how you'll need to make two trips to eat cereal because you forgot the milk. Pffffft, A true low maintenance master would just eat the cereal out of the box like it's chex-mix. Forget bowls and spoons. That requires washing. Heck if I got it I'll just use the milk from those tiny cartons and mix it in my mouth. Tastes better that way.
Thanks for the reply. I don't start til August and I'm already studying it. Why don't students like it? Do they generally dislike its format, content or something else? During my interviews, I heard it was packed full of high yield info for Step 1. Should I not be using it?
He was referring to carrying FA on your person. It's a huge book and not the best to carry around with you. You will definitely find it handy for Step 1 studying.

Why not First Aid...?
Because first aid is known to be disliked by all med students, he was just sarcastically referring to the 'med school' phenomenon

Colton B No, use it. August sick dude, my cousins in med school, hopefully I will to in a few more years.
