Good for you in giving the money to your neighbor/friend! My son is a total care patient and yes even with insurance there are still out of pocket expenses. In addition to the out of pocket expenses the parents have to take of time from work and sometimes it has to be without pay. You will be blessed for your giving!

I agree that sinking funds are important for maintaining a budget. My car ate it in a big way this year and I had money to cover it. I also had money to cover the cost of dance classes I realized I loved. If I was budgeted to within an inch of my life I still would have paid for those things but I also would have said adios to my budget

My first time viewing your channel. So professional and well informed! All seems to align and love you helping raise money and giving for your 7-year neighbor’s heart medical bills. One budgeted item shocked me though and you probably already explained in an earlier video, groceries at $1300 plus $400 Target took my breath away. That is $425 a week. I don’t know how many children you have so maybe you have a lot, or I’m not thinking clearly as a solo person. You don’t owe me an explanation, just curious.

i only have 2 kiddos- and i know my grocery budget is high 😅 i have a very strict diet, and we eat every meal from home (you’ll notice we don’t spend much at all on eating out) and because my husband and i are tall, our kids our big for their age and actually eat more than me 😂
@@thesimplebudget got it! Glad you’re eating and cooking at home. Eating well does cost more. I almost exclusively eat at home and much of my food is organic, fresh, whole and virtually no prepared foods. I struggle to keep to 80/week often going a bit over. I’ve done things like cut the grassfed beef in a half when I make a batch of grassfed beef pasta. Definitely plan on my meals and cook two or more meals at once and freeze a couple. Same breakfast pretty much every day. I have just organic Valencia peanut butter on whole wheat toast and a tiny amount of organic mango juice. Sometimes I do have a couple of eggs with avocado and rarely French toast. TMI! Look forward to being a subscriber.

Was wondering the same. Our bank fees have increased so much in the last 2 years.
What kinds of fees are you being charged?
Some banks don’t charge fees for accounts. My suggestion is to switch to a bank that doesn’t if you can.

I'm finding the most difficult in starting (even after figuring out how to start in the middle of "life-ing") is the bulk money things that are needed immediately, such as car registration - over 1k, needed now, not next year, so budget needs to bill more stuffed haha.😢😅
And such things like quarterly pest control - around $500, dentist also $500... the trying to do a budget at all, when these are already where the money must go, and of course the mortgage and utilities etc.
Such a giant thing to physically start. Your videos give me hope x
yes!!!! we had to figure all that stuff out too!!!! we had to front-load lots of envelopes to make sure they were getting the funding they needed in the timeline they needed it in! it’s a lot of work to start!
