Thanks Charlie, I hope I did a shout-out for ya good. The Caprice needed a set of Cragar SS wheels on it, I think. Have a good evening Charlie and a good weekend ahead.
I was a mold maker at one time. I was a Manufacturing Engineer too. Those are called "Ejector pin" or "Stripper" marks. In some molds there are pins that push out from the mold surface when the mold is opened, to push the molded part out of the mold. A stripper is most accurately a ring or 'C' or such shape rather than a pin, but still to strip the molded part out of the mold. In a heavily textured and highly visible area is not the way to do it. My 1st encounter with that trailer was in the MPC Mako Shark Corvette show car kit. I still have it. Never understood the need for ramps on a trailer with a tilt bed. 🙄 Other than the scrap box, my suggestions are grind off all the texture and ejector pin marks and glue on diamond plate or screen, or cross ribs of .020 or .040 square for new tread grip bars or texture.
I agree, no need for them on a tilt trailer. Sanding the tread off and and adding cross ribs would be a nice fix, I've seen that hundreds of times at tracks from Dirt to Drag. Have a good safe weekend.👍
hello Marcus... great shout out for Paul... man that really sucks about the ramps for the trailer... if you want to fix that issue JTT products sells diamond plate... the Caprice doesn't look bad for all the issues you had.. thx 4 sharing.. vinny
Thanks Vinny, if the trailer was mine I would make them smooth and add cross bars to them like dustymojave commented. That whole unit (except my Pinto )will be going to my coworker's house next week to live there. Have a good weekend Vinny.
Nice shout out Marcus! Your Pinto looks great with the trailer and Caprice! I will build an MPC model, but after I'm finished i have to build an easy kit to have some fun! 😂😎👍
Thanks Tom, I try to do good on the shoutouts but I always forget to say stuff. Paul has an Awesome channel for sure. I appreciate ya Tom an have a good safe weekend. 👍
That turned out nice, it is a good looking team. I really want at least one of those trailers but I just can't bring myself to buy the Caprice, lol. I'm thinking it's just the right size for an altered or a shorty dragster. I hear you about trying to paint the trim. Have you tried using a silver Sharpie? It isn't chrome bright but has a passable brushed aluminum look.
The trailer ain't to awful bad except for the ramps. the Caprice is nothing to write home about for sure. Smaller cars like your altered's would fit the trailer good. I haven't tried the sharpie yet, I can't see that well anymore. Have a good weekend Red.
Cool builds, nice shoutout to Paul.👍 Great member to the community.
