  • Hello friends.
    This is the official channel of JSK-koubou.
    Here you can find many interesting videos about homemade machinery, woodworking projects, plans and life hacks.
    Click here for the plan
    jisaku-koubou....
    I have created a vacuum clamping system that can clamp materials quickly.
    It utilizes a device that evacuates using compressed air.
    The device that creates the vacuum costs only $ 15.
    The vacuum area is 13.9 cm x 13.9 cm
    The ultimate vacuum of the vacuum equipment used is -92kPa.
    Theoretically, it is possible to chuck with a force of 179 kgf.
    It can be adjusted to an angle that is easy to use, and the clamp does not get in the way, so work progresses.
    Since it uses a rubber sealing, no clamp marks are left on the wood.

    For people in the USA looking to source parts:
    Amazon sells the "Vacuforce VML1008 Inline Vacuum Venturi" for about $28. It claims to pull 27mmHG (approximately the same as the $65 vacuum pump in the "customers also viewed these products" row).
    Then you can pick up 10 feet of 5/16" Buna-N cord stock for around $17. This will give 1/16" clearance above 1/4" plywood squares. (Use super glue to attach the ends to each other)
    You would also need to pick up tubing and the fittings to attach it to the air compressor. Maybe when all is said and done, that $65 vacuum pump isn't so expensive after all.

    • @DaddyGoFast
      @DaddyGoFast 2 роки тому

      Perhaps but you still need the seals so unless you can get a vacuum pump for 28 bucks, and you already have an air compressor, this is a better way to go.

    Just re-watched this video and have come to realize I did not grasp the full implications of this build when I originally watched it. As a result, I am completely amazed buy this build! And, I'm as intrigued as I could be. I'm wondering if a cordless inflator, such as a Makita high pressure 18v or 40v model, could power this system. A cordless, COMPRESSOR-LESS, portable vacuum clamp would be an amazing fixture, if you ask me. Anybody have an idea on this?

    the idea and execution are excellent. 👍
    let me offer some advice ...
    in all protruding frames make a groove 2 ... 3mm deep this will allow the vacuum to spread more easily.

      The clamping force is dependent on the net area. There are sufficient deep grooves for vacuum. Let me give you advice that making additional small shallow grooves are not necessary in this case. Cheers

    I have watched this video three times and I still don't understand how this works. How does the vacuum line create suction on the rubber hose if the only outlet is the drilled hole?

    • @Garryck-1
      @Garryck-1 2 роки тому +2

      It doesn't "create suction on the rubber hose". The rubber tubing is only there to create an air-tight seal between the workpiece and the bed of the vacuum unit. Then, the vacuum line sucks out the air that's inside the sealed area. At which point, atmospheric pressure of 15 PSI pressing on the workpiece holds it firmly in place. If the full area of the vacuum bed (roughly 150mm x 150mm or 6" x 6") is in use, that would be a force of approximately 245 kg (540 lbs) holding the workpiece in place. The force holding it if just 3 squares were in use would be approximately 80kg (175 lbs).

      @@Garryck-1 Ah, I understand now, I was having difficulty understanding the way the vacuum interacted with the work piece but now it makes sense. Thank you!

    If anyone wants more vacuum than the Venturi device can supply or needs compressed air simultaneously, the air conditioning compressor off an old Ford truck will provide (as will most any other compressor) either vacuum or compressed air depending only on whether you install your line to the inlet or outlet port. Plumb in a clean automotive oil filter on the opposite port to keep ambient dust from gumming up the works. Very economical.

    It's epoch-making. When the material was strongly fixed, there was a trace of a clamp. It could be solved by hitting the tree, but it was troublesome. This is the solution. I want to make it myself right away.

    Claro esto es muy útil cuando la madera está bien lijada, en superficies irregulares no será efectivo. Al final buen trabajo.

    Bought your plan, and, as usual, beautiful, but a question or two, yes, I want the venturi pump device (Don't we all?) and to obtain the rubber seal material in my lil town could be a challenge...
    But, the main question: You recommend the use of 5mm MDF to make the tiles on the top and bottom vacuum surfaces, but, no such material exists in Australia, all our MDF is sold in multiples of 3mm thickness. Could i get away with running some M6 strips thru a thickness planer?
