Okay, let's stop and think about this for a moment... I think the fact European women are not as prudish as their American counterparts is a huge factor in the misconception of them. Honestly, I think a woman is a woman, no matter where she is from... some just let their freak flag fly higher than others.
I think the difference is in the dating culture. In america, everything seems to be labeled, dates are very 'formal', creating high expectations for success; ironically ruining a lot of potential chemistry. For europeans, we don't really formally 'date' in the same way, we more often 'hang out', and something eventually happens naturally. The whole 'friend zone' obsession is not really a thing here. A lot of couples started out as friends, it is just not a guarantee anything will happen just because you are friends. And maybe there is a little less shame about sleeping casually with others. However, no woman will like being put down, or taken advantage of.
I really like this more free form and unstructured conversations. You have had some in the past talking with Cody and Speedy, which were really good and insightful.
I’d love a podcast to get more conversations like that! In a format like that you would have more time and could get deeper into certain topics without having to cut it short for the sake of a video.
Provided they all agree to having their private thoughts broadcast online, by all means do continue this format. But don't treat these vids as of they were Hollywood action movies, don't edit and cut conversations down into a few leftovers which you think are soundbites we're interested in. We do have an attention span and a soft spot for all of you guys. And yeah, I can see why people who don't happen to be highly immersed within spoken English struggle with the audio, you might want to look into that.
Very true. I’m from the USA and I often have difficulty hearing/understanding what’s being said in this kind of format. It’s a shame because it never fails to be at what promises to be the most interesting bits of the conversation.
Yes! Definitely more of this kind of content. I like podcasts and topics that get discussed to the core and would love to see longer version of this lunch conversation.
Outch. Didn't know about the bad reputation. Now I understand why Nalf still is a bachelor... (I always thought are the girls in Schwäbisch Hall blind?!?!) maybe you should spend some free time in Stuttgart? From a sociological POV: Such a reputation is more persistent in smaller communities like Schwäb.Hall than in bigger cities as social closure is stronger in towns than cities. Plus Stuttgart e.g. has seen more interaction with individuals from the US, thus tends to judge them more on individual level than on cultural background. BUT there's one town that's completely exceptional: Ramstein. As this base was/is used as a transition base after deployments to war zones a lot of PTSD related incidents happened there...thus the overall reputation there seems to me strained in a long term way...
you have a talent for making movies :) the choices, the moments, the music - the introduction was so naturally captivating. or are you a professional? but its a pity its difficult to hear the conversation

about reputation: these kind of reputation about americans is also found around air bases like Spangdahlem Air Base. I had a chance to get a little insight during my time at the german army (Bundeswehr). If you feel homesick, visit one. It feels kinda like the US...
I find it interesting how we say "Americans" and Americans say "European" allthough we all are a mix of different societies. Someone from France is different from someone from Germany just like someone from Texas is different from someone from Washington state. I mean, we should be aware of the cultural and geografical differences in all countrys and stop generalising people.

About your question on the end: Yes. For me as a german it is quite interesting how other cultures look at us, because "if you are in the house, you can only see to the outside". Great video. I lived in the Frankfurt area in the mid-80's/90's. It was a diverse landscape of women from all over the world (Frankfurt business & banking) and I got to experience women from many nations. What I really enjoyed about European women was, for the most part, not all the games. If a woman liked you, you knew it. If they didn't like you, you knew that too. Many times German women would come up to you and start a conversation if they wanted to get to know you. If you were in a relationship, they were very faithful and would do anything for you. It was difficult to deal with American women coming back to the US and all the games.

Dear Nalf, I'd like ti sea at hear more about and from your teammates, so please go ahead. Your perception of Swabians being very conservative (esp. in financial matters) is on spot. We other Germans can explain the Swabian way-of-life only by assuming their ancestors were expatriated Scots - because of stingyness. European Women and carefree.... those with outgoing personalities probably are carefree, but even then it has its limits. This is only an observation from my side. I am also a german/english mix woman, but from the more reserved side. From my reserved side, which is also the same by my fellow friends, we want commitment and honesty. If you deliver these simple things, you get heaven. But if you can't deliver it or are lying to us about your preferences etc. just to get the easy way around... then you get hell. Sadly, in these times, it is very difficult to find someone who doesn't lie to you. Even though you talked with them through what you want as a relationship and what not. For most of them the damage they are dealing doesn't matter, as long as they get a free fuck out of their lies, which they fed to you. I only hope for the nice guys out there, that they don't come too late to the right person, because a bunch of people get emotionally scarred for life and doesn't want to have any relationships anymore. I am one of those, who is very close of completely cutting of the concept of ever having a relationship, because I only had liars in my life, which also didn't want to give the commitment to my thought of a relationship. Don't misunderstand me. I am a person who thinks you should state your interests and thoughts clearly to your partner and that partner should give the honest opinion about it and then it should be decided whether to be together or not. A relationship is a give and take situation, but what I often see is that the people always tend to just take without ever giving something back and then they cry around when the relationship is blowing up in their faces... yeah congratz on being egoistic and stupid (at the same time). Sorry if my english got a bit bad. Things that agitates me, tends to mess up my writing.
1.) You left razor off your list. 2.) I'd really appreciate an update on your mother versus the discus and your calf. 3.) European women from an American male's perspective: sleek, chic, fashionable. Well, French women anyway. And Italian women always know what to wear to any occasion. 4.) Yes, more conversations.
As an Italian woman, I don't think I know how to dress for any occasion in the slightest... but then again I think that depends on where in Italy you are. Milan? Sure. Bari? Probably not.
As a German woman that was married 15 years to an American and mother of 3 german-american teenage girls: We don't do this horrible dating rules... this was for me the main difference in relationships. Americans tends to put women in either " mother/potential wife/virgin mary" category or in the " slut/ons" one. For me it's a super conservative society with made up rules. And strangely you guys think of yourself of cool and open-minded....nope... I think I had the chance to look behind the surface and I am glad my girls grow up now here in Germany with a lot more freedom and a deeper understanding of what it means to being a woman. And don't get me as 45 year old woman started on the highschool/college girl.fixation in US American society....

Definitely agree on European women but it’s so different from Germany and Poland but the consistent thing is that they are carefree but I do agree that atleast the German women do avoid American men as opposed to Poland where they would love to meet Americans. Crazy how two countries can differ
In some countries women earn not that much money. So to meet someone who can give them a better life is their only goal. Russian girls is the same, very flirty. Oh and in europe I got the experience that american guys behave different than in the us :) Its interesting too.

@@silkwesir1444 No comment about him talking with his mouth full. Well, I guess I just made a comment. Good catch.
@@ausBerlin1 I understood him fine when he was in his room. My ears are 72 years old and have difficulty with the echo and so on that you mention.
Good Idea. I would love to see more. But pleas whit a better Audio.
...or add some subtitles, the auto-generated aren't complete.
@@filippo5157 Yes, they are complete. Complete BS. :-D
Loved it, but sometimes it is hard to understand what you guys are saying.
...and it's not about the english skills.
Very true. I’m from the USA and I often have difficulty hearing/understanding what’s being said in this kind of format. It’s a shame because it never fails to be at what promises to be the most interesting bits of the conversation.
It's absolutely great, please keep it comming. Longer epsiodes are apreciated
The empty coffee bag needed to go into the Gelbe Sack! :-)
I thought the same thing 🙈
😂 i thought that too
Yes! Definitely more of this kind of content. I like podcasts and topics that get discussed to the core and would love to see longer version of this lunch conversation.
I didn't understand 50% of the conversation. The sound was terrible! Sorry.
@NALF I don't know why I got recommended a 2 year old video, but I would definitely love hearing a "NALFs Lunchbreak Podcast" to sweeten up ("versüßen", hihi) my long trips on the Autobahn 😍
NALF is on fire with the uploads.
To the top of UA-cam he goes!
its strange that the podcast idea came this late :D
please! go for it! :)
i googled your nfl brother, was watching the roster of his team and when i saw his face i immedly recognize him as your brother
Just do a podcast.
I'm not American nor European but it's still fun to listen to different perspectives and opinions.
about reputation: these kind of reputation about americans is also found around air bases like Spangdahlem Air Base.
Here is my list:
1) It took me nearly half of an hour to manage holding the pen like you did.
2) Followed by another half hour of researching what the "usual" way is and if that is a cultural difference.
3) And 10 seconds to realize how bored i was, that it does not matter at all and that i wasted 1 hour of lifetime to this topic.
About your question on the end: Yes.
For me as a german it is quite interesting how other cultures look at us, because "if you are in the house, you can only see to the outside". (Hope you know what i mean)
(And sorry, my english is quite bad.)
Loved this conversation! Lived in Germany for 10 years. I understand completely what you guys were discussing. ☺️
6:49 did he say Braunschweig?🙊 cause I’m from Braunschweig😅 anyway I like that kinda chill talk about your different experiences and I’d love to see more of it😌
Jo, ich auch
Grüße aus Braunschweig
Greetings from brunswick
@Streamer LX4 Braunschweig > Hannover
I really like the idea. I would definitly sit down watch like a hour long conversation you have about how you see life in germany !
I can understand the struggle with swabian culture 😂 I moved from a small town in the middle of nowhere in bavaria to Stuttgart in 2015 and it was a challenge to adapt to the culture. The first few years I felt like a foreigner and I was often called a foreigner by swabians 🤷♀️ but ever since I lost my strong bavarian accent, they don't really mind anymore. More so they are surprised when I tell them that I'm from bavaria. But well 🤷♀️ bavarians are foreigners everywhere.. Even in our own Bundesland 😂
But I like Baden-Württemberg a lot and decided to stay here 😉😁
i like the conversations (the more politcal ones) in your channel the most because u keep it real that way.^^
Really nice to hear all your opinions on normal day stuff!
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Very insightful, please do more like this!
Love this, very interesting and definitely worth pursuing! Ans brings us closer to your fellow bros too. So they don't remain cardboard cutouts. Way to go!
About the motivation: I get so much motivation out of your videos. Not only creative motivation but also to just get to work and stuff. Maybe you can find something like that too on youtube or wherever
BTW: the "Americans conversation about..." format is great!
Oh I would love to see more content like this. Just with a little bit better audio. It was really interesting. That's why I love your channel. I moved to Germany, Bavaria, from Croatia very recently and find your videos both helpful, smart, informational and kind of relaxed-funny.
Podcast? Yes, please.
I would love to see more of this kind of content or more content like the sit down and talk you used to make with Bruno two years ago.
next time put the mic on something that absorbs the sound going on on the table :D
The Bruno reference was spot on. More like that would be great.
it doesn't need to be a 1on1 conversation like that with Bruno. I think more people wound bring in some more perspectives and opinions
@@Khalidazizphoto I don't disagree with you as far as variety, but with one person the conversation flow can be more organized.
@@mojojim6458 would be more organized or Nick has to step up as an MC an let the others talk and gives some keywords or asks the questions. Like a round table discussion.
@@Khalidazizphoto I think you've got a good idea with a round table discussion if there are several participants, with Nick being sort of an MC or moderator. He can play the role of John Daly on What's My Line.
I'd like more of those kind of videos!
I would love a podcast like that where you have your teammates on, a video version would be even better.
There is this "dinner for one" sign over your heads .😂😂😂 Good exchange between you guys.
Very, very good video start: super music (who did it?), she shot is also top notch...makes my flesh crawl! Do you mentioned that picture at the wall: it's a scene from a german (british) new years eve comedy classic...every year (since the sixtys) it is shown in tv at new years eve! 😉It's name is "Dinner for one"!
NALF is churning out the videos, making up for his hiatus. :-) Interesting topic, but hard to understand for a non-native speaker.
i love those conversations.
Shout out to Jadrian: You and your shorts , hello ? its COLD! @Nalf, (as nearly every time) nice video!!! someday we will see you in HW! i as a German (a real Schwob) can say, I like the amarican people here , its very nice to have you all here ! i hope i can make it to Kirchdorf and see you there ! Dennis
Nalf, I loved follow you along on your chats and those random but interesting topics!
Would love to see / hear more...
@NALF do you know the background of the ‚painting‘ in the diner?
I noticed it, too. Really cool. "The same procedure as every year, James!" :D
...when the intro is better than the content... actually I take that back, the intro is a metaphor for the frustration of coming up with content. It's a process, keep up the good work, Nalf!
Really interessting but unluckily I didn´t understood all of it. Is there a poissibility to get a full undertitle? Thx
Loved the content, I would really like to see more of it. The sound wasn’t great, but with my Bose headphones I was still able to understand it just fine.
Wow, neues Video! Gerade erst das alte gesehen! ;)
Dear Nalf,
I'd like ti sea at hear more about and from your teammates, so please go ahead.
Your perception of Swabians being very conservative (esp. in financial matters) is on spot. We other Germans can explain the Swabian way-of-life only by assuming their ancestors were expatriated Scots - because of stingyness. They even invented the copper-wire - they turned the Pfennig (old German currency, worth about half a Euro-Cent) so long in their purse, they ended up with having a copper-wire in it.
CU twinmama
haha that story about copper wire is what the flemish (dutch speaking belgians) say about the Dutch!
Wer den Pfennig nicht ehrt, ist des Talers nicht wert. Something I heard much of my childhood.
Hey Nalf! Nice Video. It would be cool if you talk somebody or visit the west Part of germany. Like Dortmund or Essen. Because i think its a big diffrent to the south like schwäbisch hall.
Hi Nalf. Do you ever do a reassessment of those videos, and thinking at that time?
1) i think you are living in germany long enough now to make your shopping lists in german. 2) i d love to hear more of your conversations (maybe some in german too)
it would be very interesting to see more of such content - but we would need either higher audio quality or subtitles (or maybe even both). have a good one!
Recycling Police! Nalf threw the empty coffee pack in the wrong bin! Arrest hin! :D
I was waiting for someone to catch that and comment. lol
I first thought he did that on purpose, just to troll us. "he cant be serious, i mean the yellow bag was right there!" :)
I'd love to listen to a podcast with all of you!
European women might by uninhibited but that doesn't mean they give themselves away..
@@caciliawhy5195 I don't think any woman, anywhere should give herself away.
As an Italian woman, I don't think I know how to dress for any occasion in the slightest... but then again I think that depends on where in Italy you are. Milan? Sure. Bari? Probably not.
yes, pleeeaase !! I'd love a podcast !
I really like these thoughtful conversations! :)
And don't get me as 45 year old woman started on the highschool/college girl.fixation in US American society....
it’s nice man. keep on doing that kind of stuff
I had a really bad fight while watching this video, I asked myself: Should I eat my crunchy salad (and miss out because I couldnt hear anything * crunch crunch crunch* :D ) or should I stop Nalfs Video? 😁 Your video won!
Add some beer and a late night snack and it will take off! It's always interesting to hear people talk and especially when it's about situations in life and perspectives. NOTE: The picture on the wall, any information about that? Anyone...
J P completely agree I think in America guys have to work through the filters women put up when we approach them in Europe most people are straight forward easy going there’s more of a comfort level
Can you please Release the full version as a Podcast or start a Podcast with These Guys?
I would totally watch your podcast Nick! :D
I vote for podcast. I'm listening to cultural podcasts but hard to find them.
Also, could be because I speak English fluently but I could hear everything that was said.
NAFAMALE. That’s funny! 🤣
But seriously, great content and that’s coming from an American born from a German mom and who also German paternal lineage as well.
Keep it up.
Your friend in front of you have to lift his arm when he is eating. Never bring your head to the fork but the fork to your mouth 😉
Subtiltle pleaseeee!!
funny, i was thinking just the other week that you guys are totally not fitting the football player stereotype. and just to have said it, just because we might go without a top on the beach doesnt mean we are loose/anything goes. but im sure you figured that out already.
I think it's wrong to put people in different drawers (german saying) - whether men or women - Americans or Germans. Everyone deserves respect and if one respects each other, nothing can go wrong 😉...
Nice Idea but useless. Categories are usefull. Without them you'll be unaware of Differences/Danger/...
We should be kind to everyone who crosses our Way BUT no one "deserves" Respect. It must be earned!
Well done NALF!!! Interesting! Im watching from Switzerland, Europe. ;-)
Put a mic on the table and call it lunchcast, unedited easy content. The time saved on the content creating side can be invested in promotion / syndication.
I'd be very interested to see more videos in this format. But if you want to do it regularly, you'll have to improve audio quality somehow, as others have mentioned.
You should start a podcast with this content.
good video,
which you would do it in a proper setting without background noise and if everybody took some notes beforehand
my view gets drawn back to the picture on the wall, which is "dinner for one" - I guess a terribly german thing to notice
New perspective. I do like keep let them coming
The audio was not great. Could barely hear guys. If you plan to do more shootings like this, everyone should wear a mic.
As a German who grew up in Italy I cannot even understand how you possibly would have a perception of European women, upbringing, culture, history and languages between the countries are so different that only someone coming from another continent could come up with sominthing like this. I m pretty sure that you can find big differences also between Americans from Boston, Charlston or Los Angeles
No 1 intro channel on UA-cam.
I have the same toothbrush Nalf has... A dream comes true xD
Exactly the same??? Huähhh
You don't have to comment.
I use the same toothpaste :-)
