this is one of those tracks that, even when I'm not in the mood for it, I just love listening to, because it's great. When I'm in the correct mood, however - this track is one of the select few that can straight up make me cry just by listening to it. And I love it for that.
I can't believe I complained about this album 2 days ago. I've turned to REALLY love this album. I was upset it got softer, but damn it's a masterpiece in its own way. Sorry for doubting you VOLA
It happened to me with "alleviate" by leprous when they released the single, a week later after I said that is not "my thing" I was listening to it in my head non stop so I decided to give it another try and no of course I love it
@@renatoalberico4102 Amazing song! Definitely my favorite by them. That’s the song that got me into them. Which reminds me, it’s the weekend and I’ll have two days off in a row to officially listen to all of their albums. Found them through Voyager when the singer did guest vocals in Entropy
I like to randomize songs while driving; I bought this album although I had only listened to Whaler and Ghosts - loving them I said ok let me buy it. All of a sudden this song started and when it reached the part you mentioned here I was like 'what the hell happened? this is amazing'. One of the best songs of the album, along Whaler. The lyrics are also impressive. VOLA for the win! (y)
The bass at 3:19 right before the chorus gets me EVERY time. The entire song is excellent but it's little details like that that really elevate this song to another level.
I can’t believe I’ve listened to this song 30 times and it can still make me cry. My cat was killed by a car and I would love to make a video montage with his videos and this song. What a beautiful piece this is
This album is just incredible. The first time I didn't think much about it. Now put it on repeat and it grows on you. This album is super special. Thank you Vola for the ear candy!
No other band does what Vola does, and what they do cannot be synthesized. This is unique auditory art that will endure the test of time. I love it when I introduce someone to Vola for the first time, many of them are surprised that they'd never heard them before and all of them become fans.
Definitely one of the future metal headliners. These guys have texture and versatility that has major appeal all around. Looking forward to your future.
I just can't stand dumb people who call themselves fans of a band. First album the band releases is in most cases raw and heavy and as soon as they start to explore textures and melodies, the so called "fans" loose their shit and start saying completely irrelevant statements like: "this is pop". No this isn't pop, the band members just matured and started to evolve and expand their sound. That's completely normal and the goal of the music is not to repeat yourself every time you make something new.
I'm agree but I just ask those bands for which are about to change their genre that create another band another name and turn the page or keep projects separately cause it is common and normal that rock/metal musicians have others music tastes
That is very rarely feasible... do you know how hard it is to get a new name out there... so many never make it off the ground... they are using the name they built up to do what they want and that is what they deserve... remember bands owe us nothing.. they make music and we may like it... thats it
Your statement kind of reminds me of what happened to 'The Contortionist' They were a deathcore band when they started off but now they are something else entirely.
I just can't stop listening to this album of perfection, it's truly a gift. Thank you Vola! I can't wait to see them live in Detroit! Peace from Detroit MI.
Yeah, I suppose the Meshuggah similarity isn't super obvious as it is in some of Vola's other songs. The main riff sounds like something of theirs, only it would in a super low tone. Owl City is an electronica/pop project (mostly one guy). I'm quite sure that almost nobody who listens to Vola and the like would enjoy Owl City, but the main electronic melody in this song (particularly the bit that starts at 2:52-- which is also where the Meshuggah riff is the strongest) and the piano sounds very similar to me. Also, the lyrics in the first verse sound like something the Owl City guy might write.
I hear Meshuggah in the rhythms for other songs... it was someone who came to my mind when I heard Smartfriend. makes me think of their 2005 album I forget the name.
That piano chord at 4:53 always hits me so hard, so precise and masterfully crafted, so many feels and emotions from just that hit. Amazing song with amazing musicianship
This song was one that I thought was good but didn't think much of it, but it got stuck in my head and now I really love this, so glad to discover these guys than never!
This song has become so much to me. It came at the right time in my life and thank you for that VOLA. I have a big list of covers Im planning on doing, and this is #1.
I... Quite never paid attention to the lyrics of this album. I've been listening to it while working, doing stuff or whatever. But "WHEN WILL YOU SEE ME?". It hit so hard. I mean, I did not listen to the the rest of the lyrics and yet, I knew what it was about. So I listened again. For real this time. And yeah, it was just what I thought. Anyway, thanks Vola for putting words and music on a random fan's feelings. Love you guys, wish you the best and have fun doing what you love
This has become one of my favourite songs ever. Could someone (or vola themselves) please tell me what the heck the noise is I’m hearing immediately at the start, that keeps going. It’s mesmerising
I can't believe I've been living under a rock and hearing this for the first time! Being a musician myself....literally made me want to cry tears of joy
absurdity. VERY talented band. I listen to this album for 3 years. Almost every month i'm here listening to any song again. The freshness of Ruby Pool and the textures of We are thin air are unique. But Vola is totally unique, even if i did compare them with other bands, like Pink Floyd, Meshuggah or anything else.
I think i have finally figured out what this song means. Its been my favorite of theirs for a while, ive listened to it easily over 100 times by now. I sincerely believe this song is about how consuming social medias are to our minds, and the decision to leave it behind. When you apply this though a d listen to the song again, it really seems to fit the bill.
I've finally got the time to listen to the album in full and it's been an absolute experience. By far, this song right here is my favorite above all. Not to imply I don't love the others, of course! Absolutely killer album, guys! You've done it again and I can't wait to be listening to this album nonstop for the next month!
Absolutely beautiful! Just found you guys last night via your live sessions in Copenhagen and then came to figure out you guys released your album today! Apparently a lot of old-school haters in the comments; don't listen to them. You guys have a very unique sound and it's thoroughly enjoyable. You don't always need to break down the house to create art :-)

This album, while it has some really good songs, just is a little too mello for my taste. This band will go far and I look forward to seeing everything they do for years to come.
Why would you think you're entitled to decide what's good for a band and what's not? I'm pretty sure you can't even describe why it's 'pop', because your only argument would be "it's not heavy enough for my own irrelevant taste".
They've always had a flavour of pop in their sound. It's just less heavier with the riffs with more focus on melody - and some experimentation. Should they keep releasing the same album..?

It happens to me a lot! it's the nature of progressive music.

The guitar riff in this is incredible
3:20 play.... repeat 3:20 play.... cry .... repeat 3:20 play.....

Fantastic song. The part between 3:00 and 4:30 is epic. Listened to it several times in a row.

This is an incredible song/album. Everything I could ask for in a progressive metal band. Interesting rhythms, catchy melodies, weird and awesome.

Their previous album, Inmazes, was very much influenced by Meshuggah. The rhythmical similarities were uncanny. Not so much with this one.
Yeah the lyrics kinda remind me of Owl City
